Re: Rumour: Yakuza 3's PS4 Remaster Seemingly Set for Gamescom 2019

FWIW the entry for Yakuza 3 on the Rocket Beans schedule has been changed to an unnamed "Atlus-Spiel"; while the localisation team who worked on the PS4 Yakuza games are formally part of Atlus USA (Atlus being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sega in any case), the games so far have been published without the Atlus brand.

@Flurpsel haha not quite . . . RGG Studio have released these games on average about 1 a year since 2005 (including spin-offs like Kenzan!, Of The End / Dead Souls and Judge Eyes / Judgment and full remakes), English-speaking markets have been playing catch-up since Yakuza 5 took 3 years to get a localised release, so we did get 3 of them in 2018 (Yakuza 6, Yakuza Kiwami 2 & Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise).

@Gremio108 This studio's games are roughly half the reason I still own a PS3 (the other half being Metal Gear).

@tameshiyaku Yakuza 3's English-language PS3 release was notoriously incomplete and the parts that were translated need at minimum a once-over to revert name changes originating in the dub of the first game. Agree with you re: marketing concentrating on Judgment right now tho'.

sigh Judgment & Sinking City within a few days of each other. Cold Steel I can wait on, still only a short way into Sky Second Chapter.

@Custom1991 if we want to get pedantic, Ryū ga Gotoku 5: Yume Kaneshi mono is releasing on PS4 this month in Japan, alongside Korean & Chinese translated versions. Yakuza 5 (i.e. an English translation of said game) hasn't even been confirmed to be happening and is . . . unlikely . . . to release this month even if they have been working on it, largely because much of the target audience are going to be buying Judgment.

@shonenjump86 The next Ryū ga Gotoku game has been confirmed since ages (initial teaser trailer was in 2017) & in the recent stream cited by the article Nagoshi stated all the writing & most of the voice recording for it is done. A localised version which may or may not be called Yakuza 7 is pretty much guaranteed given the success of the series this gen.
