I’m sorry what is the point of these remakes?????? I’m kind of shocked the first one sold well enough to justify the second. Strip the game of all its original charm and slap modern graphics on top of it and you just have a lifeless shell of a classic.
@NieR_Dark James McCaffery unfortunately passed away at the end of 2023. They will of course honor him in this remake at some capacity, but I really hope they keep as much dialogue from the originals as possible, it's possibly my favorite VA performance ever.
@LordAinsley I said this before, but Silent Hill has always played like crap, and they are better/scarier games because of it. At least the first 4. Notice how fans and non fans alike hated every game that came out after they tried to refine the gameplay. They are simply better games with crap controls.
@UltimateOtaku91 Considering combat/gameplay in Silent Hill has never been the series strong point, and they make protagonist miss shots on purpose to make you feel helpless, seems like a pretty good fit to me.
@nomither6 I don't see any complaints about anything but the card game in your reply. 10 is the best one post PS1. 9,5,7,6,10, but those may be re-arranged after a random playthrough of any of them, you know how it goes.
@Godlike_Virus I don't think Bruce would allow anyone else to voice the character, he hasn't yet at least. This would probably be the best DLC character they have done in any of the games if it's true. God i hope its true and they do Ash justice.
@Porco Sure I get your point, but remaster games that actually would benefit from a remaster. PS3 games still look great and if people want to play them on newer hardware just throw a port of the game on the PS store and just as many people will buy it, not to mention it would reach people faster and more than likely would be less money out of the publishers pocket for them to increase the revenue of the release, even if they upscale the graphics like the PS2 classics collection. Speaking of PS 2 classics, the reason no one buys those is because those are the games that truly DO deserve remasters/ remakes. Everyone and their mother has played GTA 3, slightly better graphics and trophies don't do crap for the game, but imagine if GTA 3 was remade to be like GTA 5? Obviously Take two might not be the best example of a publisher that needs more money....but that's kind of what would like to see more of, and i think everybody wins in a scenario like this.
While I don;t doubt Jason's credibility can we just stop with remasters that don't need to be remastered? Why did they remaster dark souls 2, then 1 and now the first one in a backwards pattern? Big budget gaming is going the way of Hollywood where they are just running out of ideas but its even worse because a game doesn't even need to be a decade old for it to get the remaster treatment. I'm sure i'm not the first to say this, but unless a game is re-imagined 20+ years after its release, just play it on the original hardware, freaking waste.
@Turismo4GT Lots of people bought the physical copy of that game for insanely cheap in the US. I remember buying it brand new for $10 a year or maybe two before it was free.
I was at a "better late than never" Halloween party this weekend and I met these two kids, one of them worked for a mobile gaming dev (Too drunk to remember where he worked). But these two guys were stoked about Diablo coming to mobile. They were 23 old, so I think i had my first ever "damn kids are ruining video games" moment in my life. The one kid who worked for the dev said to me "There are no more 2-d shooters out there". I told him that shooters and beat-em ups were making a comeback......and he didn't know what a beat em up was? I can't be the only person who thinks this is odd. I started naming games like double dragon, streets of rage, even Fighting Force and he had no freaking clue what i was talking about. Point is, these damn kids are influencing and ruining everything that I love. I am officially a bitter old gamer at 31. Thank you Blizzard for helping me come to terms with this.
@get2sammyb A note on the end of Shenmue 1. I don't see access to the 70 man battle anywhere after beating the game. I know that on the DC version you had to save the completed game first but there didn't appear to be an option to save after the credit's rolled. Did you run into this as well? I'd say this is a pretty glaring omission from the port if it is in fact not there.
@rjejr Dude what game were you playing? Your description sounds like DOOM 1993. Slow? Nothing is slow in that game. This one might looks a little more colorful and there's a grappling hook in this one, but damn you should play that again.

@Lastochka Agree this needs to be in VR to make any sense at all.

Re: Second Silent Hill Transmission Invites Imminent 'Game Updates, a Deeper Look at the Film'
@Specky Fangamer has it. They have 1,3 and 4 on vinyl as well but you may have to wait for a re-stock.

Whatever it takes for more people to appreciate THE BEST ONE. Complain about something other than the card game, I dare anyone.
Re: Random: PlayStation Wedding Cake Signals Game Over for the Groom

Anyone else getting serious Ghosts & Goblins vibes from this? Looks amazing but hopefully it's not as punishing as G&G.

Super Kawaii? It's not a cute -em up! I guess it's kinda cute.....with a lot of guns and killing and stuff
