Re: UK Sales Charts: FIFA 21 Holds Number One as Immortals Fenyx Rising Misses Top 10

Demon’s Souls is an interesting one. Many people, like myself, would have bought the game as it was the big PS5 exclusive, but then found it to be very difficult to get into. A good example would be near the beginning of the game when you’re told to visit the monumental in order to make further progress. I had no idea what a monumental was and only knew that it was somewhere higher up in the nexus. I spent ages wandering around and had to look at an online guide to realise that you had to look for the figure next to the brightest candle. In my opinion this is a dreadful piece of game design that Blue Point should have changed. I also agree that an easier difficulty could be included.

Re: Australia Fines PlayStation $3.5 Million for Refusing Refunds on Digital Purchases

In the UK I have tried several times to get refunds for games I have played but turn out to be buggy messes, e.g. Mafia 2 most recently. Each time I have either been told that I can’t get a refund because the game has been downloaded or they ask for videos/photos of the game going wrong, something I don’t have the time to do. Some people will say that you should wait for reviews before buying but sometimes the bugs don’t arise until much later in the game. Sony needs to rethink its policy and be a little more sympathetic or, failing that, make sure that games are working properly before offering them for sale.

Re: Talking Point: Should All Games Have an Easy Mode?

I nearly always play on Easy, mainly because I want to enjoy a game and not get overly frustrated by it. Also I have arthritis in my fingers making some games difficult to play. I recently played through Fairy Fencer F on the easiest setting; your party hardly take any damage and enemies have less hitpoints. Yes, combat was not challenging but I loved the game and can always play ng+ on a harder difficulty should I wish to. I have played the Souls games but have always given up part way through; I love the atmosphere of these games and would love the freedom to explore them in full, but the ruthless combat makes this nearly impossible for me.

I didn't find out until yesterday that you can change the control scheme to "Easy" in the options menu. Left stick controls movement whilst the right or left buttons control grip. For me it's much more natural.
