Stellar Blade is launching exclusively on PS5 at the end of the month, on 26th of April, and anticipation is high amongst enthusiasts for the appealing action RPG. We love what we've played so far. Still, not an insignificant amount of attention is directed at the game due to its more aesthetic attributes and the many eye-catching outfits on offer for protagonist Eve.
Shift Up director Hyung-Tae Kim is aware of the effect these outfits have had upon the fanbase. In an interview with Famitsu (thanks, GamesRadar+), he reiterated that the rather revealing NSFW Skin Suit, in particular, is not for the faint of heart. Masochistically, it will remove players' shielding, and "the gameplay difficulty will increase dramatically, so I recommend that you wear clothes as much as possible".
Kim goes on to explain that the Skin Suit is, in fact, made of a skin-like fabric, which is why it is spread so very tightly across Eve's body. This passes muster for us. We're glad Kim hasn't gone the Kojima Metal Gear Solid V route on this one. Who could forget when the auteur creator suggested we would all feel ashamed for wondering why Quiet had to wear her unique outfit? Spoilers: it ended up being because she needed to breathe through her skin.

I mean this is practically like any RPG where you take off all of your armor you take more damage so it's whatever.

There's probably some metaphor to all this that I'm too dumb to figure out. I don't like hard games so I guess they convinced me to put clothes on her. Effective strategy there.

The demo already sold me I just wish the release date was closer, basically have to wait a month and like always first playthrough will be the default skin!
I feel like this game is getting way too much attention over Eves look and presentation. Hot characters in modern gaming has always been a thing.
I still can’t shake the feeling the game is an excuse for the director’s fantasies about his favourite irl model, but hopefully the game is decent too.

Do we know the trophies yet? Maybe there could be a difficulty trophy related to playing through a level, or even the whole game, with this outfit. Otherwise I’d likely not make things more difficulty for myself needlessly and miss out lol.

Even without the hard mode skin suit, there will be plenty for people to oogle lol. The suit she had on in the demo for boss challenge was plenty jiggly and had under-boob aplenty…

Watched a live-stream of the demo, it looked fun and I've been convinced to get it. And since the skin suit makes the game more difficult I foresee some awkward explanations to my family in the future lol
Well, every outfit has a story whether we like or not.
Still, no matter what game or how eyecatching the skin is I'll use what I find cool.

Kind of BS that they’d create a ‘skin suit’ for a protagonist that’s had much made of her body and where they’ve applied ‘jiggle physics’ to her boobs and then say “don’t use the pervy skin suit’. Hypocrisy much?
The same gamers that didn't think Abby abs were realistic in Lou2 I just know are willing to suspend that disbelief for this character running around half naked fighting demons.
With everything that happens in combat... That they are fighting half naked is the least stretch of the imagination.
They should implement skinning the armor equipped with the look of anything else in the inventory. Always a great feature.

Lol, he is indirectly saying for people who can't handle mature things just play it on easy mode because hard mode and outfit is only for people who have steel heart or masochist.
I always play in hardest mode as much as possible though and this is good reward for what i do.

The controversy around this game is just ridiculous, but not surprising for the modern era. On a positive note, the game actually looks great and I can't wait to pick it up.
