Re: Soapbox: GTA: San Andreas Is Still an Open World Classic

Flurpsel

@ApostateMage yeah same here. The game really started to shine after that moment. The sense of freedom that gave me was insane. That moment was possibly only topped by leaving the vault in Fallout 3.

I have very fond memories of vice city as well, but SA takes the crown for me.

Re: July 2021 PS Plus Games Available to Download Now

Flurpsel

@get2sammyb If you go into it not expecting too much it's for sure a fun experience. Decent story, dialogue, character development and voice acting. Good graphics and ambiance, creative setting, some fun gameplay elements and doesn't outstay it's welcome in my opinion. Okay now it sounds like the perfect game but it's not earth shattering stuff

Re: Rumour: PES 2022 to Be 'Properly Free-to-Play And Really Change Things Up'

Flurpsel

I olay PES20 regularly with a mate. It's fun but I wouldnt necessarily say its better than FIFA. We had to look up a lot of the mechanics because it wasnt explained and often doesnt even makena lot of sense.

But my main gripe is the defending mechanic which boils down to pressing and holding X, and to make it more difficult the referee is super strict which just isnt fun. Sliding tackles are allmost impossible to do without a foul, and imo executing a good sliding tackle in FIFA is half the fun of the game,

Re: F1 2021 Introduces a Comprehensive PS5, PS4 Racing Suite

Flurpsel

@Denni5m I think theyve struck a good balance between realism and accessibility. The F1 license must cost a fortune so off course they need to appeal a broad demographic.

You also have to consider F1 cars are wildly different from your average GT3 cars which are much easier to drive on the limit. Making it a proper sim would mean only a very small percentage of people would get anywhere near consistent laptimes (and fun races..)

Re: Battlefield 6 Reveal Confirmed for 9th June

Flurpsel

I hope they take it to a direction without lootboxes, battle passes and more of that nonsense. I played some Bf4 lately and was really enjoying it again. Unfortunately I dont see them reaching that high anymore allthough I dont want to sound cynical lol.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mass Effect Legendary Edition?

Flurpsel

Well I wouldve preferred a remake rather than a remaster so I suppose I have to keep my expectations in check. And they did remake some elements of ME1.

But I'm a bit disappointed by some performance issues on PS4 Pro and a number of glitches. But all in all it's definitely a decent remaster and not just a shameless moneygrab. I rate it somewhere between 7 and 8.

Re: Poll: Who's Your Favourite Mass Effect Legendary Edition Squadmate?

Flurpsel

Really surprised Tali is so popular. She must be my least favorite character. Mostly because I dont like her powers and also because she has an annoying voice.

Voted Garrus btw. He's decent with assault rifles and snipers and the overload power is vital on higher difficulties. Hes also just a cool character. He looks badass, especially in ME2, his actions are also badass and his voiceacting is top notch

Re: Leaked Document Reveals Xbox's Opinion of The Last of Us 2

Flurpsel

@LordSteev personally I think it really added to the gameplay (besides realism). Before a encounter you would have to carefully chose which weapon to equip, considering your ammo and the range it gives you, or you would have to adjust your playstyle to the weapons you allready have equipped.

I also had plenty of cool moments where I did a quick weapon swap and went from being on the run with a sniper rifle to giving a chasing baddie a face full of shotgun. I really like the mechanic a lot better than pulling an infinite array of firearms out of my behind

Re: Gran Turismo Is Going to the Tokyo Olympics

Flurpsel

That's pretty amazing. Kaz took a bit of a gamble with GT Sport and it's focus on online racing, and when it released took quite a bit of flak for it. But the game has been going very strong and I think an affiliation with the olympic committee is pretty much a crowning achievement for him.

Re: Reaction: Days Gone Was PS4's Black Sheep, But a Darn Good Open World Game

Flurpsel

Played it but stopped halfway through. The gameplay was glitchy and the shooting wasn't very fun or felt very good. The story was mediocre and very few truly interesting turns and events. Lots of mediocre side quests and even the main quests weren't good. It was all just a bit meh and I can understand the decision to can it. It's not a terrible game, but when you're being compared to other first party titles like God of War, Last of us and Ghost of thushima the bar is set very high and this didn't reach it.

Re: Days Gone - Open World Comfort Food with a Survival Horror Spin

Flurpsel

@Nintendo4Sonic Same here. I bought it 2nd hand and sold it again before completing it which is sometime I rarely do. Was there more focus I wouldve completed it but the numerous filler missions really tested my patience (eavesdropping on the lab guys for example...). Also after about 10 hours I still hadnt taken on a horde which imo was the headline act for this game..

Now that it's free I'll give it another try and pick it up where I left it. Maybe I can see it through to the end as I dont like leaving games half finished.
