I wouldnt mind paying a small fee for playing online if it means it keeps the servers up. But Sony has allready shut down multiple servers within a few years so they lost my good will as far as that concerns. Imo there should be 2 subscriptions: a very cheap one for online play and cloud saves (AND they actually keep the servers up), and one for discounts and ps now and they can then drop the free monthly games as that is allready part of ps now.
"But detractors were concerned that the game was capitalising on the abuse that streamers can face in real life"
It's not even released? How can you say this in advance? AND in such a manner that they're seriously doubting releasing the game... I think there is a very dangerous trend going on with self-censorship because of some extremely vocal (and frankly insane) people on the internet. It's not enough to voice your opinion anymore, no the person whom had the audacity to dare talk about a subject that is sensitive to you should be boycotted, ridiculed and outcast.
I was mildly interested before because I was wary of another open world game and the gameplay that was shown a while ago didn't do anything to change that. It actually looked pretty generic. But this review has definitely sparked my interest. It's not going to be a day one though as I have plenty of other games to play rn.
it's probably just some marketing mumbo jumbo but still it's good to see that there is a general trend going where games are steering away from minimaps and quest icons and tedious side quests. RDR2, TLOU2 but also Far Cry and Assassins Creed all try to achieve a more natural flow to the game. To be fair I think the only game that truly succeeded in that area is TLOU2, but still..
It sounds completely optional as I read it. But I totally agree it's crap. The only AC I played was 3 and black flag and it was decent enough besides the modern day stuff. I actually never finished black flag because of this.
Paying extra for full retail will also increase the expectations for content and value of the game. If there is even remotely a feeling that they left out content to be sold to you later on as DLC or you get a bug riddled game for which you pay the privilege to beta test...people will go mental (and rightfully so). I hope publishers are aware of this.
I really loved Hitman back in the days (10-15 years ago). Especially Hitman 2 in which I completed every single mission with the highest score available. But after that I got burned out on the genre. I gave the demo of the reboot a go but didn't get into it. Maybe some day again.
@gollumb82 Graphics arent' amazing but the only thing that is really outdated are the mechanics. Climbing towers to unlock the map etc. Everything feels kinda clunky as well, especially compared to FC5 which I also played recently. It's still a fun game though and I did complete the story.
@Bentleyma- I played it a while back after I really enjoyed the first one (of the reboot). But the input lag killed it for me and I sold it before finishing it. Is that still there?
Played a few rounds of this and enjoyed it more than most BR games but it's still not my thing. It is cool to see multiplayer matches up to 200players. Maybe the next Battlefield will finally bump up it's playercount a bit as well, since they've been stuck on 64 players since forever and some maps are just too large for the amount of players.
My gf will be delighted by this news. Fortunately there isn't any ice in this dlc because that's something she cannot handle at all.. I can't even count the amount of times a fully cooked meal ended up in the water lol.
Man I miss a good tactical shooter. Remember things like the old Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon games, Brothers in Arms. They were loads of fun. It adds so much more depth to the game.
And I honestly believe you learn some valuable skils from it as well. Making quick decisions under high stress, sometimes being forced to make a 'least bad' decision. It also helps to bond with the characters that doens't happen when they're just mindless goons shooting aimless in the air (cough call of duty).
@gingerfrog I totally agree about the difficulty. I played 5 on my own and it was moderately difficult on hard. Really only the lineair sections in the bunkers were somewhat difficult.
But I then played it with a friend of mine in coop and you had the same amount of enemies and it was waaaay too easy. Everytime things kicked off just a little bit it would allready end. Upping the difficulty only changed the amount of damage you take and nothing else. Real shame because otherwise it was a fantastic game
Currently playing PC2 and enjoying it a lot so I'm interested to see what 3 is about. Not sure what the trailer is trying to tell me, there seems to be a tuning element involved..? And it's looks like Suzuka is in there and not the unlicensed look a like, or why else would they show it in the trailer.
I will however not buy this at launch as both PC1 and 2 needed quite a few patches to realize their potential.
Edit: judging from the gameplay video this is much more arcade focused with mid race challenges and... XP (the horror...).
I think it'll fit somewhere between Driveclub and Grid, which could be nice but the name Project Cars 3 might be a bit confusing as 1 and 2 were proper sims.
Exodus is fantastic. Great story with extremely tense gameplay. there is literally no game where shooting something/someone feels so real and satisfying.. Only downside is the unbelievably bad voice acting. If this had proper voice acting spoken in Russian with subtitles it would be a 10/10 for me.
Nice lineup. Will add them both. Not sure when I have time to play it though. I want to finish God of War before TLOU is released, while also doing some sim racing in project cars 2. And i'm also playing Farcry 5 and Ghost recon wildlands with a mate when we have time.
They say they postpone it to give room for a more important message, what they actually mean (and Sony too btw) is that they are afraid that their announcement/release is overshadowed by the media attention for the protests. And the reason they don't do this for equally bad (or even worse) situations in other countries is that North America is home to their biggest consumer base. I think that is the whole story in a nutshell.
Like someone said before, every decision these companies make is with their own financial interest at their mind.
@Makina I just started god of wsr a few weeks ago. I started it on hard but quickly turned it down to normal because it was tedious. This so called God of War whi needed a 100 punches to kill a basic enemy and died if he got hit twice.. later on I chamged it again to hard when I leveld up a bit and now it's fine. But yeah the beginning of the game on hard was crap
@SamiFranco couldnt agree more. I remember the starting days of ps4 where we would only get obscure indy games for an entire year.. so tocme every game I actually play is a score.
I'm not that fussed about it. "The Internet" losing it's pants about something is just business as usual. People feel like they're entitled to something. In this case they 'demand' to know more. And Sony is taking it's own pace for whatever reasons, probably corona related. It'll come out eventually, dont you worry.
@Dominatso I enjoy them a lot but I'm also biased because 1. I'm an extremely passionate bike rider and enthusiast 2. I'm an extremely passionate track rider and enthusiast.
Graphics and loading times are a bit poor and the difficulty of Ride 3 was all over the place unfortunately. Beside from that it has loads of content and a very nice handling model. In my opinion it could be a bit harder/more realistic even on 'pro' mode but I think I'm in the minority on that. Overall it's a decent handling model for beginners and experts as you can fine tune the assists.
I personally wouldn't buy it at full price though. You can buy Ride 2 and 3 for a tenner and I dont think an upgrade will be worth the price difference.
I never got into this series. Played 3 when it was free on plus but it just didnt grab me. Everything was a bit too much by the books in my opinion. Combat was fine but hardly innovative, and taking over rackets quickly became a chore and I dropped it.
Nice to see a lot of people enjoying it though. I can understand the charm a bit.
@Averagewriter yeah well in that regard big companies and China have at least 1 thing in common..they would both rather live in a world without human rights..
@TrueAssassin86x man I really hated that they forced me to register to play the game. Or maybe it wasnt mandatory but they sure didnt make it easy to get out of it then. And the connection would randomly die on me even though I was connected to PSN, making the loading screens twice as long as I waited for the time out.. it got up to the point where I would disable internet connection to play the game..
@get2sammyb I still play FIFA 17 on the PS3 because I fail to see the evolution that FIFA brought to the PS4. So it's interesting to see some genuinely excited about PS5
The last couple of AC games looked good at first sight but when I watched gameplay of it I always had this feeling of 'been there done that'. It looks like the biggest change through the years was more focus on RPG elements, which translates to a situation where you cannot progress the main story because your level is not high enough and you have to do more side quests, even though you don't want to...
The last Ubisoft open world game I played and enjoyed was Far Cry 5, mainly because they gave you a lot of freedom to progress how you wanted. There are 3 sections and you can do them in any order. They also ditched the archaic 'tower climbing mechanic'. There is also super easy fast travel, companions can be called upon at any moment, there is just a lot of freedom. Maybe it's a bit casual but that is probably what I liked about it. Not every game has to be a full fledged RPG like The Witcher.
@Bartig I thought controls were pretty decent to be honest. Of course it takes some getting used to and it's not as easy as a keyboard and mouse but it didn't bother me that much. Shame to hear because it was a great game otherwise.
@get2sammyb yeah but I dont play a lot of them. Splinter Cell was great back in the days, and if I play something like Far Cry I usually play as sneaky as possible. I also played a little bit of Deus Ex but that allways felt a bit clunky.
@get2sammyb I tried to get into Dishonored but I couldn't. I played on normal difficulty but I got spotted all the time resulting in chaos and me waiting in a corner with a pistol shooting everybody that comes through the door. And there were too many collectibles that distracted from the story but felt essential for leveling up your character. I gave up after 2 missions unfortunately.
I think I'll sign up for the trial of PS Now as I can then try Mudrunner and see if this is for me. and being able to play Control is a nice bonus as well.

Would be nice if you didn't have a minimap but a good old fashioned map to navigate. would also be more in line with the setting in 1986.

Re: June 2020 PS Plus Game Is Available to Download Now on PS4
I wasn't complaining about the current line up but it's nice to see that Sony is listening to it's fanbase. This is clearly sending a message.
The only downside is that people are now rewarded for complaining, hence more complaining in the future.
