There's nothing to be hyped for right now. inFAMOUS and Watch Dogs looked cool, but that was about it. Ill definitely get one, but not at launch.
I don't understand what the Killzone hype is about. Doesn't look like anything the PS3 can't handle. Beneath the pretty visuals and all the explosions, it'll probably be just another FPS game with nothing to set it apart from the other titles in the genre.
And where were the Vita games? Do they even care about that thing?
I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that the lineup is nothing special and it is too soon for the average person to run out and get one yet.
Basically, I think that there isn't enough original games. Sure Persona 4, Ninja Gaiden, and DOA are all good looking titles, but they were released quite awhile ago on other platforms. Most people who wanted those games already have them. I look at the Wikipedia Vita list and most of what I see are ports, remakes, and multi-platform games, which will not keep a system alive.
The system needs it's own games to take full advantage of it's capabilities and features. At this point it just looks like the PS3's little brother.
@ShogunRok I mean if you are going to say the d pad was useless, then you have to complain about every d pad/analog stick that has ever gone in a similar spot. And I have never in my experience had to push the triggers all the way down just to make sure they worked unless I had a faulty controller or something. I know in a game like Super Mario Sunshine, I could hold down R a little bit to spray water and walk around, or push it all the way down to stop and aim. The z button wasn't an issue either, because what I did in the game told me if it worked or not. How is that even an issue?
@hamispink
But for many of your complaints you didn't say why they were flaws. Just saying "it's not that great" without any reasons isn't enough to convince me or anyone that the GC pad is overrated.
Also, now that I think about it, I think it is time to retire the DualShock. The PlayStation brand has been on the same controller for almost 20 years. Lets get something new.
Although the the return of the DualShock wouldn't prevent me from picking up the eventual PS4, I would be a bit disappointed.
@hamispink
-The d pad has been useless on every controller since the 3D revolution.
-I don't understand how the octagon could possibly affect gameplay, but ok.
-The abxy layout was different, but the focus on the A button made a lot of games easier to play. Of course everyone has their preferences, but I don't see how this is a gripe.
-Your index fingers sinked right into the triggers and these buttons are large. Much better than the crappy DS3 triggers or the skinny 360 ones.
-The z button is on the same spot where other shoulder buttons are. You must have a problem with all the other modern pads if the GC one bugs you.
The c stick does suck, I'll give you that. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I don't see how your flaws affected the most important thing, which is gameplay.
Those analog sticks still feels a little off to me, even after all this time playing with it. The DS3 also feels really cheap and light. And it isn't necessarily great for people with big hands. But I would say its still good controller, and I wouldn't complain if they just kept it the way it is.
But the DualShock will never touch the awesomeness that is the GameCube controller!
They did this to themselves. If the industry wasn't so obsessed with the newest tech and graphics all the time, the companies wouldn't have to make such expensive games. Combine that with the recession and you have a formula for less sales.
Just finished The Sly Collection last night. Such a great trilogy! I think I'll spend the rest of the week playing New Super Mario Bros. on the 3DS. Might start up A Crack in Time if I feel like it, but I'll probaly save that until after New Year's.

Re: So, One of Quantic Dream's Top Executives Is in New York
I'm with @Zenith. Their stuff look amazing, but the actual games look incredibly boring.
Re: Sweet Tooth Celebrates Birthday with Twisted Metal Bundle
Thinking about picking up the reboot sometime. These look fun.
Re: Bentley's Hackpack Breaks Out Sly Cooper's Mini-Games
My copy is supposed to come next week. I wish I could play it right now.

Looks okay at best. Gonna wait on reviews.

I agree with @CanisWolfred. This was a serious let down.
Re: Grand Theft Auto V Hijacks PlayStation 3 on 17th September
Getting on the PS3. Can't wait!
Re: New Tearaway Trailer Takes a Tantalising Trip to Sogport
That trailer was awful, but this game does look great. I hope it turns out good.
Re: Killzone: Mercenary Pays Out with Explosive Gameplay Trailer
This and Tearaway are a step in the right direction! The Vita need more games that aren't ports and remakes.
Re: Review: The Cave (PlayStation Network)
Wow, different from the NintendoLife score. I need to try a demo.
Re: Rumour: PlayStation All-Stars Developer Thumped by Layoffs
Yeah not enough people know the Sony characters like they know Nintendo's. They should have expected this.
Re: God of War: Ascension Gifts Early Access to The Last of Us' Demo
-_-
Don't care for GOW and I don't want to pay $60 for this demo. Come on Sony.
Re: Why Isn't Resident Evil: Revelations Stumbling onto the Vita?
@belmont
Pretty sure Nintendo is taking part in the publishing of MH4. Not going to happen.

Awesome looking game.
Re: Rumour: Monster Hunter 4 Is Clawing Its Way onto PS Vita
A likely hit in Japan, but this wouldn't help the Vita's problems anywhere else.
Re: It Looks Like Resident Evil: Revelations Is Coming to the PS3
@Hokori @hydeks
Can you 2 stop being fanboys and actually talk about the story? -_-
I tried the demo on the 3DS. Didn't like it too much.

I can't wait!
Re: Kaz Hirai: PS Vita Sales Are on the Low End of Expectations
It is clear that the industry was not ready for a handheld with this much power. It's just too expensive for the general public.
And I am still waiting on my system seller. There isn't enough to own one right now.
Re: Remember Me Gift Wraps a Late Christmas Present
Not sure if I want this.
Re: Sony Bets the Bank on 4K Technology at CES
Is Sony insane? 4K TV's cost 25K! Are they trying to kill themselves?

Re: Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII's First Trailer Strikes
Who's idea was this to have 3 Final Fantasy 13s?
Re: Rumour: Developers Have More Confidence in the Xbox 720 than the PS4
Kage is correct. These rumors don't mean anything until we have seen both consoles fully revealed.
@Paranoimia: Don't pretend PS3 didn't have its issues also. Both consoles are solid now and have come a long way since their launches.
Re: Steal a Glance at Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time's New Trailer
Comes out right after Fire Emblem for 3DS. I better have money that week lol
Re: Phew, Looks Like There May Be a PlayStation All-Stars Sequel
Too early for a sequel. I want to see SuperBot do their own thing.
Re: Talking Point: What Went Wrong with PlayStation All-Stars?
I agree with MrNiceGuy. From what I played (beta), I wasn't impressed at all, and neither was my cousin who I played multiplayer with.
It's an ok game, but nothing I'd pay $60 for. I'll stick to Smash Bros.
Re: This PlayStation Vita Deal Is Almost Too Good to Be True
Really great deal. If I had some cash I would get it.
Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (PlayStation 3)
I can't stand Call of Duty. Pass.
Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (PlayStation Vita)
Ouch.
Re: Oh No, Sonic the Fighters Is Releasing Overseas
If you think this doesn't look bad, you must've enjoyed Sonic 06. O_o
Re: Review: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PlayStation 3)
Wasn't too impressed with the Beta. I would probably get the Vita version.
Re: Sonic the Fighters Sours the Japanese PSN This Month
Yeah this looks really bad lol
