Re: DOOM Ditches Campaign Co-Op on PS4

IronManDS

As is quite common here, the poorly-worded title would indicate that co-op would be present on all platforms except PS4.

In you eagerness to remind everyone that "Push Square" is a PS-oriented site, you might want to take basic grammar into account a little more often...

Re: Feature: Why the PS4 Is Selling So Extraordinarily Well

IronManDS

@rjejr
You do not see 2 free games a month across all 3 Sony systems as a selling point? What the heck would you consider a selling point?!?
"Free" is a relative term, of course, as it cost $50/year for PS+. However, that equals 6 games a month (2 for each of the 3 systems) for $4.16/month. Show me a better deal.
MS obviously thinks its a selling point because they've copied it.

Re: Talking Point: Has PlayStation Now's Subscription Service Put You on Cloud Nine?

IronManDS

@viciousarcanum
I disagree. This site hosts what I believe are fair discussions of the pros and cons of Sony's consumer treatment. (Well, in the forums, any way. Some writers here are so pro-Sony that they're afraid to type the letters X, B, O, and X in sequence or acknowledge that some games are, gasp, multi-PLATFORM, as doing so might cause their computers to spontaneously combust.....)

Re: Talking Point: Has PlayStation Now's Subscription Service Put You on Cloud Nine?

IronManDS

@Tasuki
I don't necessarily disagree with what you are saying. However, if you're going to charge $20/month in a day when Netflix is $8, Hulu is $8, a YEAR of XBL or PSNPlus is $50, you better come out of the gate with a heavy-hitting argument as to why your service is relevant. That "heavy-hitting argument" is made, in this case, in a large library of compelling games from each PS generation.
As is, there is very little justification shown by this service for charging $240/year. If any.....
(BTW: There's your PS3 and 4 games' price, right there.)

Re: Game of the Year: Silver Trophy - P.T.

IronManDS

As much as I enjoy this site and it's rampant fascination with the holding of platforms, I'm rather disheartened to see a barely-interactive tech demo beating Dragon Age and damn-near any other game released on the, wait for it ......., platform.

Feeling lazy today, boys?

Re: Sony's Fighting Back with Some Big US PS4 Bundles

IronManDS

@FlipNiggle Because you like 1080p in your games? Because it's still (and always will be) 30% more powerful than the XB1? Because the multiplatform games look and perform noticeably better on the PS4? Because it's not the size of a Volkswagon, like the XB1? Because of the free PSN games (if you have Plus)? Because of the near-flawless (over your WiFi) play with the Vita? Because of the inevitable God of War game? Because of Uncharted 4? Because of Street Fighter 5?

If you need that much convincing, stick to your XB1 and last gen system. They still play games.....

Re: This Is How Sony's Going to Promote PS4 Port The Last of Us Remastered

IronManDS

@Savino How about the best versions of all multi-platform games? There is nothing which has been released on both new systems about which XB1 can brag about there version over the PS4. To the contrary, they all look better and run smoother on the PS4.

And, if that doesn't float your boat any, keep your PS3 and/or 360. They're both still great systems.

Re: Could PS3's Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Come to PS4? Yes, It Could

IronManDS

@get2sammyb I sure am! Loved the last 2 games and will get this on Day 1. Would, however, certainly rather have it on my PS4. Unlike "The Last of Us", this will not be a game I'm willing to buy twice.

So, Gearbox, pick your poison for a Day 1 purchase: PS3 or PS4. You're no Naughty Dog and you won't get 2 bites at this apple outta me

Re: We're Not Saying It's Doomed, but These DOOM Comments Don't Inspire Much Confidence

IronManDS

@Shaolin Not at all. It needs to be said and it needs to be heeded. If I didn't like the site and the staff and the community here, I wouldn't come. Period. But, since I'm here, please don't insult my intelligence by intentionally weaving words to make it appear as if multi-platform games are not, um, multi-platform games.

For instance: If you say something like "Ubisoft is working hard on the PS4 Assassin's Creed" it implies: (a) Assassin's Creed is only on PS4; or (b) Assassin's Creed may be on other platforms, but Ubisoft is only working hard on the PS4 version.

It lessens the quality of the site, IMO. And, I'd love to see that not happen.

Re: UK Sales Charts: PS4 Favourite inFAMOUS: Second Son Shines at Summit

IronManDS

No mention of Titanfall at number 3? I know this is a PS site, but at least freakin' acknowledge reality! I love my PS4. I'm also fond of my XB1 and enjoy Titanfall. But, for whatever reason, this particular OP ALWAYS ignores the fact that there are other systems out there. Even to the point of making absurd titles to stories. You mention the top 5, yet only list 4 games as "all padding out the list"? "Journalism" at its finest......

Re: CD Projekt Taking Extra Time to Tame PS4 Sequel The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

IronManDS

Ugh. Once again, the author gives the title of the article a terrible title! As worded, it would indicate that only the PS4 version of this multi-platform game is being delayed. PLEASE acknowledge that a game comes out on multiple systems in your titles and/or posts! It makes you seem like you don't know that much about what's going on, truth be told.....

As for actual reason the game is being delayed: In February 2015, it doesn't have to go head-to-head with the new DragonAge game from Bioware! If I had a similar game, I'd move it's release window, too. That said, I look forward to burning more hours than I should on both of them!

Re: Review: Strider (PlayStation 4)

IronManDS

I'd give it an 8.5, myself. My only beef is that there are not enough variety to the levels compared to the original(s). As a Strider game, it certainly holds its own. As a "Metroidvania" game, it again holds its own. The controls are perfect (on the PS4 version, anyway. XB1 has some slight control lag when doing multiple actions). The graphics are awesome. The sounds and music are top-notch. (I THINK I hear some "Shaun of the Dead" music in a couple of areas...)

Easily an 8.5, IMO. A variety of levels like the Amazon and an actual snow level (not just the "quick, you're in snow, get to the building!") could have taken it from "nicely above-average" to "classic" status.

Re: Review: Strider (PlayStation 4)

IronManDS

I really like it! Keep in mind, however, that it would be over-the-top if it had a larger variety of levels - like the original(s).

That said, it's quite good and, as the OP noted, can be quite hard to put down!

Re: Store Update: 19th February 2014 (Europe)

IronManDS

In the US, Strider came out last night. I immediately grabbed it and: I don't regret it for a second! As a huge fan of the original and the PS1 sequel, I cannot recommend this game enough! The "Metroidvania" aspects are very well done and do not detract from the experience in any way. I was only able to burn about an hour on it, but it has incredible graphics, a great map for keeping track of where you're going and where you've been, and insanely tight and responsive controls. Go now!

Re: Pachter: PlayStation Now Doesn't Have a Prayer of Maintaining Subscribers

IronManDS

As a long-time gamer with all systems from the NES to PS4 (except TG16), I find it hard to give more than one **** about this. I like owning physical copies of my games. I do not care to be at the whim of some company which runs a server to allow me to play them. (Hence, why I quit buying XBL games)

Of course, not everyone agrees and some will use the service. As a fan of PS and Sony, I hope it does well. I just don't see it having any longevity. Here's hoping I'm wrong.
