@Ultraman1966 Without being too specific, are you talking about being in a truck with a cop? If so, the answer is sadly no. Just played that mission early this morning, though that might have still been 1.21, come to think of it.
Yeah, I don't want to give too much away, but if you listen to him rant for a bit, he stops shouting and speaks directly to you. He'll ask for donations, and I gave him the highest amount three times before anything happened. (only 100 each time) I had no idea he'd actually do anything like give me a quest, but it ended up being a tough shootout and a pleasant surprise! Like you said, the game just continues to give..
Something else that's transpired differently this playthrough is, you know towards the very beginning of the game, when you first go to see Ripperdoc Victor Vector, that crazy prophet standing outside of Misty's place? Well, in my first playthrough he got killed by some Tygerclaws about the third time I saw him. This time, I kept him alive till he gave me a quest, and it was odd indeed. Could have tied in nicely with the mayor line, I thought.
@KingPev Really? Metacritic users gave it a 2.4, but I trust your opinion as it seems we have similar taste. I'll go ahead and download BF5 then, on your recommendation. But if I don't like it, I want my money back.
Good points. This current playthrough, it really has hit me how short the actual 'main story' is. The side content is where the meat is! Fleshes everything out and ties it all together. Plus they are so varied and the writing is so good on them, taken as a whole they put the main story to shame.
I thought I finished it, played through twice, but now I hear you have to go 3 times to get the final ending. I had fun with it the first time, so I think I'll get this and try for all 3 playthroughs.
I played NieR Automata when it came out, day 1 edition. It was very good and didn't really have any bugs to speak of.
My question to all of you is, is it worth it at this sales price to get the Game of the Yorha edition? What all does that include that wasn't in the initial release?
I loved 2. Thought it was game of the year last year. That said, and as much as I love Naughty Dog, I really think they need to expand the players toolset in whatever they do next. The formula, although a good one, is beginning to get too predictable.
I'd like a bigger inventory, better crafting, and maybe not touch the left stick and lumber and lurch in that direction like a drunken toddler.
This is all about the refund CDPR promised, not the game itself. I'm hopelessly addicted to this game, and with the current patches, it is head and shoulders above some games that Sony has never had a problem putting on their store. Sony basically doesn't even HAVE a refund policy, and because this episode shone a light on that, it feels like Sony is just being petty.
I am sorry for your loss. I lost my mom twenty years ago to cancer, and you never really get over it. Still think about her every day. The memories hurt, but that's how you keep him alive. Best of luck to you in dealing with this.
I think there's space for both open world games and linear ones. I enjoy both. It really depends on how well it's executed. If you want to tell a poignant tale that is more immediate and makes more sense, you just about have to go linear. If you want to give the player agency, and build more of a world around him or her and then let the player fill in the blanks, you go open world. Both can be good. Both can be butchered.
I was going to post how happy I was, but that seems to have been well covered. I'll just add, look at my baby, Cyberpunk, still hanging in there at number 10! Who'd a thunk it?
The Last of Us Part 3 and GTA 6, plus something else for the PS5 owners since they get 3 while we lowly PS4 peasants are penalized for our inability to magically locate a PS5 and only get 2.
I'm committing Night City to memory. I can't help it. I WANT to play something else, but I keep getting sucked back in. By the time I think I can leave it alone for a while, another patch comes out and it keeps getting better. Cheers.
Wow, I really liked that. Definitely picking up some Fallout vibes, in the best possible way. Never heard of the Developers, so I'll probably wait for some reviews, but color me impressed!
@Enuo I agree with you. Also, watching the first clip, I really didn't like all the button prompts I saw on the screen. Timed button prompts just aren't my thing.
I want this, but I'm already wading through a huge backlog. If it works out that I can't get to it before it goes on sale, that's ok too. I feel a little foolish paying full price for remakes anyway.
Still no. And looking worse. I asked around in January and was told not till May. 2 weeks ago I asked the dude at Walmart and he said not till Black Friday. Really?
On the positive side, I don't feel like I've missed anything yet. Don't think I'll need a 5 until Forbidden West at the earliest.

Re: PS Plus May 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
@KingPev
I figured review bombing had something to do with it, Call of Duty fans being what they are....
And also, to be fair, most of the ones I glanced at were from around the time the game released, too. I guess it got off to a rocky start?
Now I'm sort of looking forward to it, as I haven't played Battlefield since the first one, back in the PC days.

The one I loved that I skipped the first time through is the dude running for mayor. Got some goosebumps as that unfolded. Sinnerman, too.
Re: PS Plus May 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
Well, they were due for an off month, I guess. Went to metacritic to see what was up with these, check these user scores:
Stranded Deep: 5.1
Battlefield 5: 2.4
Eeesh.
