I love collecting trophies as much as possible (not a massive completionist, I aim to get at least 50% if it's a harder game to plat, like the Yakuza games) and it's really helpful if you need a clue for what to do next.
But Shadow of the Erdtree is going to be an epic experience either way.
I've voted 9 because I'm getting my flat booty kicked in online ranked but it's genuinely the energy kick the series needed. I've loved every instalment I've played since the 90s but this feels so good to play
...Until the Tekken 8 beta was announced for the weekend when SM2 is released. Might use Spidey to ease burnout from all the matches I'll be using but Tekken is the priority.
@QualityGeezer I don't enjoy FromSoft games because they're difficult, exactly. If I just wanted difficulty I'd just whack up the difficulty on everything (I actually play on normal or even easy on most other games)
I think it helps that there's no difficulty levels.
And when I beat a boss, if it's on my own (with Spirit ashes or NPC summons admittedly) there's a sense of accomplishment. If I do it with a mate or two, and we're communicating different strategies, it's immensely satisfying. There's almost always a sense of overcoming something.
Plus FromSoft games are 99% gameplay. I love that games are getting more cinematic and story driven, but there's nothing more frustrating than getting in the rhythm and flow of combat before a walking section, then a fairly mediocre puzzle and a long cutscene.
I absolutely understand why the difficulty of the games puts a lot of people off. I had so many moments in ER where I was ready to quit, whether it was Margit or Caelid in general. Or Malenia. The difficulty spikes in this game could get disgusting at times. Which is why I can also understand ER winning best Multiplayer :')
Interesting choices. Baffles me that they didn't choose Xiaoyu for Pai, considering all the attacks used in the video have parallels in Xiao's movelist. But not even this would make me play VF5
I'd fallen out of love with Harry Potter a while ago, the Fantastic Beasts films were alright, but on top of all the Rowling ridiculousness on Twitter (controversy and tiny lore additions) I was ready to be done with the world.
But this game looks amazing. Still needs a bit of polish (the snow on the robes looked odd) but otherwise does look outstanding

Re: Elden Ring's Massive Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Doesn't Have Any Trophies on PS5, PS4
Very mixed feelings here.

Re: Sony's PS Plus, PS Now Cross-Gen Bullsh*t Continues
Can PS4 users add PS5 monthly games to their library?
While it doesn't fix the issue being discussed, it would be ridiculous for Sony to not allow this
