Re: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime Not Very Impressed with the PS4's Launch Lineup

PMasterTy9

@Visiblemode Exactly. It's all about perspective. If you look through history this is one of the best launches for a console if not the best launch. For the gamers who want more AAA title announcements need to look back at the last launch and see how many were announced before the launch of the last console. This also the most diverse lineup for any launch.

I don't see Nintendo as a competitor to either the Xbox or the PlayStation. They are kind of in their own niche market which could be fading away.

I know there are a lot of people nay saying the indie games and I am not huge on indie games myself but I understand the potential of indie games. Look at Journey for example or Minecraft. With the falling out of the mid range market it is making room for more indie titles as well as higher quality indie titles. Some of the more creative games are indie games. Also, with the rise of smartphones and tablets there is a rise in mobile games which are mostly indie games.

There are over 30+ games that will be available at launch and honestly how many are you going to time to play before spring of 2014. Not to mention you have games like Second Son due out early 2014 and who knows what else will be coming out around that time. The question you should be asking yourself is "Will I be entertained by these titles?" and to not worry about if it is a AAA title or not.

Re: Sony Prefers to Partner with Third-Party Titles That Are 'New and Fresh'

PMasterTy9

@uchinakagema Umm... I don't see your point with the AC example. Are you trying to say that I can't say a game "sucks" or that I can't "hate" a game??

You say that you understand that some games in a game series are not as good as others but your initial comment you said that you were "sick and tired" of people expressing their opinions of games in a series. Then you went and expressed your opinion on why the entire Halo series was good which is fine and that is your opinion so, your two comments seems a bit contradictory.

As far as this whole hyperbole thing, I don't see what I said was hyperbole or how I engaged in it or why you had to explain it to me. Also, I wan't bashing on Halo.

Re: Sony Prefers to Partner with Third-Party Titles That Are 'New and Fresh'

PMasterTy9

I think its awesome that Sony is focusing on something different instead of going the Microsoft route and mainly focusing on the big names. The big guns this gen might not be the big guns during the next gen. You can only produce an X number of CoDs or Halos before it gets stale and gamers start to look for something different. I have a feeling that indie games are going have a bigger role int he next gen and I think Sony can see that. Personally I don't like timed exclusives and I don't see the point in it. Great you get the game before we do but in the end we still get the game. Either go full exclusive or just launch as cross-platform title.

Re: Sony Prefers to Partner with Third-Party Titles That Are 'New and Fresh'

PMasterTy9

@uchinakagema Sorry but it sounds like you are butt hurt because people are talking bad about Halo. Just because the franchise is successful doesn't mean every title is great for that franchise. Sometimes developers make a change to their game and it doesn't go over well. It's ok for people to have an opinion and to be able express something they don't like about a particular game. You can't tell me you never felt this way about a series. Think about musicians not every album an artist produces is great or there are some better than others. Also, the Phil Fish thing is a whole other scenario.

Re: Oh Yeah, Twitch Is Totally Coming to the PS4

PMasterTy9

I'm not a fan of Ustream, it seems a bit buggy at times. One of the good things about Twitch is that you can transfer your videos to YouTube. It would be cool if they added YouTube so you could skip Twitch all together if you wanted to because I know some people who prefer to use YouTube over Twitch.

Re: Music Unlimited Is Not Going to Be Totally Useless on PS4

PMasterTy9

@ViciousDS I love Spotify as well and I use it all the time. Sony might not have a desktop program but have you tried playing music from the Music Unlimited site itself? It works fine on my PC and I am just skimming through their library and I am surprised how much they do have.

Re: Music Unlimited Is Not Going to Be Totally Useless on PS4

PMasterTy9

@Lelouch How about some Blind Guardian or some Hammerfall while playing Killzone? Actually Slayer or Exodus might be better for Killzone..lol Yeah I might look into this since you can stream while playing. I had the trial for music unlimited but never used it because I just don't turn on my PS3 to just play songs. I have my other devices for that. I was unaware that there was an APP for smartphones so that's big one for me. If it has a similar library to Spotify then I might convert over to that because I use Spotify and Pandora in my car all the time.

Re: Feature: Sony's GamesCom 2013 Showcase - Did It Meet Our Expectations?

PMasterTy9

@DVS @longshot28 @Clamedeus I agree. I understand Sony's strategy as well.

@Gamer83 I understand where you are coming from but you have to look at it from all angles. Sony accomplished what they needed to at E3 and they accomplished what they needed to at GC. Things are going in Sony's favor and there is no need to rush announcements. They already have over a million pre-orders so there is no reason pull out any big guns at this moment with the exception of the much requested release date and they delivered that. @DirectAim pretty much hit the nail on the head. If E3 went down differently you would probably see a different strategy from Sony and there is a good chance that you would probably see more of the AAA announcements that you are looking for. With all of the hype surrounding the PS4 Sony is doing something right.

Re: GamesCom 2013: Absorb 15 Minutes of New Knack Gameplay

PMasterTy9

@rjejr I don't see how the skill of a person playing a game has any effect on the demographic of a game. Maybe he died to make it look more challenging then what it is or maybe they wanted to show you what deaths look like. Who knows and that wasn't the point. I said it was geared towards the "younger" gamers but it is a game for anyone and I think there is something there for everyone to enjoy.

Re: GamesCom 2013: Relive PlayStation President Andrew House's Xbox One Jab

PMasterTy9

@Gamer83 Have there ever been any earth shattering announcements at any Sony GC conference regarding the PS3 in the past? I think some people have unrealistic expectations. Also, did Microsoft make any earth shattering announcements at GC? Another thing to think about is that console selling games can be announced at ANYTIME and that is coming from Yoshida himself. You have TGS and the VGAs coming up before the end of the year as well. I would expect to see some announcements at the VGAs. Most if not all of the studios are actively working on PS4 games. I have no issue with Sony's tactics so far and I am happy with the announcements so far. Only 2 jabs have been made towards MS one big one at E3 and a small one at GC. You do have an excellent point with the Vita and I agree.

Re: GamesCom 2013: Relive PlayStation President Andrew House's Xbox One Jab

PMasterTy9

@gamer83 You can argue that taking a small jab was the right thing to do but it certainly wasn't childish. Going into Gamescom you can sort of say that both consoles are even due to Microsoft's 180s so, somebody had to shake things up and everything they said was true. Also, don't kid yourself and think Microsoft made all of the changes because of the gamers. Keep in mind that taking jabs at competitors is a part of business and the video game industry is a business. You do remember the slogan "Genesis does what Nintendon't" or when Crash Bandicoot went to Nintendo headquarters, right? It the tides were turned I would have no problem with Microsoft taking jabs at Sony.

The reason Nintendo hasn't engaged in any of this because they are not in the same league as Sony and Microsoft, they are in their own niche market.

Re: GamesCom 2013: Relive PlayStation President Andrew House's Xbox One Jab

PMasterTy9

@lelouch Actually I did see some of those comments, lol. Oh and don't forget the fanboys were making fun of the PS4's design after E3 saying it looks like a slanted PS2 which is more of a compliment if anything.

@irken004 Exactly, you got to hand it to Sony when they have a vision they stick with it, the PS3 is a great example and now the PS4 is another one.

Re: GamesCom 2013: Relive PlayStation President Andrew House's Xbox One Jab

PMasterTy9

@lelouch Yeah I remember that was their only defense before E3, "well at least that showed the console". Then after E3 the microsheep were laughing at the Sony fans because we have to pay to play online now which I always say to them "umm...last time I checked you have to do the same".

The only ones who find the jabs tasteless are the Xbox fanboys who can't come up with good jabs of their own.and they don't call it a "console war" for nothing. Also, anyone remember the old Sega commercials??? The Mac vs. PC commercials??

Re: GamesCom 2013: You'll Be Able to Buy a PS4 from 15th November in North America

PMasterTy9

I don't see how anyone can be disappointed in PS4's lineup. You will have plenty of games to play when the consoles launches . If you really like XB1's library over PS4's then get a XB1. If you want more AAA or first party titles just give Sony some time this is a launch year. We have TGS around the corner and anything can be announced between now and launch day. Did anyone see the Minecraft announcement coming?? No. Some of the popular titles announced for XB1 are not going to available at launch anyways. Everyone knew that GC was going to be focused on Vita so I am not surprised to see very little on the PS4. I was surprised in the amount of indie games though. Don't forget E3 2014 is coming next year so they have to save some ammo for that as well. I don't expect any company to blow their load before launch. In the end, just sit back, relax, end enjoy some games. You will have access to plenty of games no matter which console you go with. I have my PS4 already on order and I am perfectly happy with that. This gen I came in with an open mind and I gave XB1 a good look but it doesn't appeal to me and I feel the PS4 is right for me and I like the direction they are going.
