Re: Round Up: New Cyberpunk 2077 Hands On Previews Are Very Positive

While I think the game will objectively be a great game and I will most likely pick it up at some point, I can't help but feel a little bit less excited every time I've seen it. CDPR have been trying to generate and maintain hype for years now and it's just... exhausting honestly. I would much rather have first heard about this game last year as I feel I've gone over the hype peak and I'm just on a downwards trajectory with this game.

One thing I thought was interesting is when Rachet is teleporting around in combat, instead of the character model and camera moving in the world, it seemed the world moved to the camera. A really nice effect which looked great, and I would imagine - knowing nothing about programming - that it would be more memory intensive doing it that way? Using the PS5's extra power well perhaps...

Re: Next-Gen Game Reveals Are Imminent, But Sony Silent on PS5 Plans

@RBMango I actually don't mind Sony keeping it's cards close to it's chest. Sure, I'm dying to know more, but that just proves they have me right where they want me! The explosion of chatter after the controller reveal shows how effective it can be to "starve" the audience of information and then finally give them something, as long as it doesn't get frustrating. Microsoft revealing little bits at a time more regularly lessens the impact of the reveals, in my opinion. Sony know it's audience is clamouring for something, anything, and can play on that. I feel Microsoft trying to generate more hype by revealing more stuff could come back to bite them as is makes each reveal less special. Just my take anyway
