So do you think this would be instead of or in addition to an American event? As in would Sony cut down from 4 to 3 big press conferences per year, or would this simply replace the European press conference but there would still be a further one at the American event? If it (a European PSX) ever actually happens of course!

Personally I wouldn't mind a few more games focused more solely upon gameplay, in the vein of the recent Ratchet and Clank or older series' such as Wipeout. Not that I dont greatly appreciate more story driven adventure games (I love the fact that Sony are funding the likes of the The Last Guardian and Detroit), but I did feel like something a little simpler was missing from the conference. If only that they had Crash remastered gameplay to show!

Irrespective of whether there is a new crash game besides this or not, Im somewhat suprised that no one (myself included) predicted something like this happening. It actually seems a rather obvious move now that I think about it, particularly when you consider the Bowser and DK amiibo available for Skylanders Wii U. Lets hope that this is not all that Sony have in store on the Crash front...

Re: Review: BigFest (PS Vita)

Enjoying what I've played so far, makes me wish there was more of this sort of game on vita! Or any console these days come to think of it

Re: E3 2015 Will Be Super Crazy Good, Says Sony

TXP

Expecting: Bloodborne (standalone?!) DLC, more info on Ratchet & Clank and Tearaway, lots of 3rd party promotion, heavy indie emphasis, no more than two as yet unannounced 1st party AAA titles

Hoping: More than a passing mention of the Vita (maybe even one first party game?!), Gravity Rush PS4, some info about the Last Guardian

Obviously going to happen: Half Life 3 x The Last Guardian, available to purchase after conference..... exclusively on vita......

Re: Indie Games Rule in May PlayStation Plus Freebies Roster

TXP

Im not a PS Plus suscriber, but from the outside looking on these are the types of games i would want from the service. AAA games seem great in theory but surely in practise people will predominantly own the ones they want and be fully aware of the ones they dont and why they dont. They are also often a significant time investment in comparison to 'indie' games which can largely be finished within the month. Then again, as i said im not shelling out on a subscription so i may well feel differently if i were!

@get2sammyb

Your comment has really got me thinking about something i've been wondering about for a while - how is it determined which games Sony's first party studios work on? The reason i am curious is that Sony is often criticised for not supporting the vita however i also imagine that the overwhelming majority of their first party studios probably (sadly) don't want to develop for it. So how does it work? Do Sony instruct their studios what to develop? Or do studios pitch to Sony? Or some combination of both?!

Re: Talking Point: Are There Any Remasters You Still Want to See on PS4?

TXP

Personally I would rather see some proper remakes as opposed to remasters (to me remaster implies that nothing about the gameplay is changed, only visual elements). There are loads of PS1 games that are surely ripe for a proper remake and i would much rather play than slightly better looking versions of PS3 games!

Re: Talking Point: Are Bigger Open Worlds Really Better?

TXP

@get2sammyb

It's a fair point. I suppose the expanses between towns and dungeons etc. simply serve as context for those bits, in theory they need not exist but personally i think the game would have been far worse had its content took place within a much reduced area. I guess in the end it comes down to your personal opinion on the balance of such things, and i reckon skyrim achieved a better balance than most other games in recent memory.

Re: Talking Point: Are Bigger Open Worlds Really Better?

I definitely agree with the premise of this article but i think in terms of recent open world games skyrim is a poor example to demonstrate their 'emptiness'. Its surely one of the very few open world games in which (among other things) you can enter every building, every npc is voiced, there are loads of quests yet few (any?) are related to collectibles etc. Of all the open world games i can think of i would argue the elder scrolls series constructs by far the most vivid and content rich examples (and was constructing them before they became an industry trend). But like i said, i definitely agree that there is a recent trend of open world games being somewhat lifeless and lacking meaningful content.
