Re: Square Enix Boss Says Game Streaming and Subscription Services Will Be Key to Future Growth

@kyleforrester87 That's not necessarily the case though. It's a numbers game for them and unfortunately for us they could afford to make their product inaccessible to 75% of the population at some point in the future if this new business model saves them in excess of 75% in overhead costs. What then? You're looking at things two dimensionally, they are in it for the money and don't necessarily care if their product can be accessed by a large number of their fanbase...

@kyleforrester87 No I'm scared that I'll no longer be able to play games. As should 95% of the population who could suddenly be unable to enjoy video games...

Do you honestly think internet service providers can magically twitch their noses and make the infrastructure available to all in 5-10 years?! They'll have to lay tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of miles worth of fibre optics, replace millions of junction boxes as well as making fibre optic leader lines from the junction boxes to every home "they currently use copper lines", this would cost trillions and likely take decades to perhaps an entire century to accomplish, and that's just here in the US...

@kyleforrester87 What planet are you living on? Almost nobody can stream modern games yet and they are already talking about it. I can't even see 25% of the population having sufficient speeds in 20 years, this would weed out the vast majority of gamers who would play, except they won't be able to because of location. Also you apparently must be a millionaire if you think people complaining about having to pay subscriptions out of the wazzoo is "moaning"...

@ShogunRok @Get2SammyB Why the fronk is there no review for this game?! This is easily the best game in the series hands-down... >_<

Surprised by the lack of comments regarding Stein's Gate. It's an absolutely incredible visual novel and I highly recommend giving it a shot if you don't already have the game!

I am looking forward to Iconoclasts, Sterdenn, Paper's Please, and Onrush which I don't have! Soma looks meh, but overall December's plus lineup is amazing!

Re: Sony Studios Hard at Work Polishing Up PS4 Exclusives

WiiWareWave

@Badboyfx86 Except there's alot more than a "Last Batch" of corfirmed first party PS4 titles left, more like two or three batches...seriously there's what? More than a dozen upcoming high profile first party titles "More if you include budget titles" many of which are likely to release in 2020.

Now mind you, Sony doesn't typically release first party stuff long after the start of the new generation, third party yes, but are you really telling me that they'll be baiting and switching a good half a dozen or so AAA first party PS4 games and moving them to PS5? That seems like a good way to lose a massive portion of your late adopters of the PS4 if they bought their PS4 specifically for those games, the chances they'll upgrade will drop to near nil if Sony did this...

Re: Scarily Good Deals Arrive on European PS Store in Halloween Sale

@AFCC Hardly, there are other genres far worse off like 3-D Platformers, those have almost completely disappeared outside of a few rather impressive indies such as Yooka Laylee, A Hat In Time, and Poi. Turn-based JRPG's are super rare now too. Man I miss the hordes of turn-based games we used to get. Action RPG's when done right are better than turn-based, but most seem to be nothing more than mindless hack and slashers anymore.

Re: PSN Is Down for Some, Sony Has Acknowledged the Issue

@NintendoFan4Lyf That would blow furry chunks all over since usually legacy support for the last gen systems provides us with the best experiences of the entire previous generation during the first year or two of the new generation while usually the next gen system gets pretty lousy games during the same time-frame after the usually excellent launch lineup.

Edit: Except Nintendo which treats its previous generation like yesterday's garbage and tosses it aside at the very start of the new generation.
