@kyleforrester87 That's not necessarily the case though. It's a numbers game for them and unfortunately for us they could afford to make their product inaccessible to 75% of the population at some point in the future if this new business model saves them in excess of 75% in overhead costs. What then? You're looking at things two dimensionally, they are in it for the money and don't necessarily care if their product can be accessed by a large number of their fanbase...
@kyleforrester87 No I'm scared that I'll no longer be able to play games. As should 95% of the population who could suddenly be unable to enjoy video games...
Do you honestly think internet service providers can magically twitch their noses and make the infrastructure available to all in 5-10 years?! They'll have to lay tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of miles worth of fibre optics, replace millions of junction boxes as well as making fibre optic leader lines from the junction boxes to every home "they currently use copper lines", this would cost trillions and likely take decades to perhaps an entire century to accomplish, and that's just here in the US...
@kyleforrester87 What planet are you living on? Almost nobody can stream modern games yet and they are already talking about it. I can't even see 25% of the population having sufficient speeds in 20 years, this would weed out the vast majority of gamers who would play, except they won't be able to because of location. Also you apparently must be a millionaire if you think people complaining about having to pay subscriptions out of the wazzoo is "moaning"...
Plus even in first world countries like the US even most major cities don't have access to sufficient internet let alone rural areas. You'd be lucky if even 5% of any given country's population has access to internet speeds that are sufficient for streaming games...
@Spectra LMAO. You obviously have never played a Gameboy Advance if you think DQ XI's music could be handled on that handheld. PS2 possibly could, but GBA's audio chip wasn't even as advanced as the one used in the SNES...
Surprised by the lack of comments regarding Stein's Gate. It's an absolutely incredible visual novel and I highly recommend giving it a shot if you don't already have the game!
I am looking forward to Iconoclasts, Sterdenn, Paper's Please, and Onrush which I don't have! Soma looks meh, but overall December's plus lineup is amazing!
@Jaz007 And if you don't make a stand until it begins to affect mainstream games, it'll be too late. That said still support the developers of censored games as it is not their fault, but be vocal and speak out against Sony. If enough people do they might panic and stop out of fear of losing a large percentage of their customers in the long-term.
@get2sammyb People in China and Russia thought the same thing once upon a time and look at them now...nothing gets released without government approval. Look at history of communist nations, at first it was just "self imposed censorship" or companies forcing their ideals down their partners throats, and eventually governments started to get in on the action...
@Badboyfx86 Except there's alot more than a "Last Batch" of corfirmed first party PS4 titles left, more like two or three batches...seriously there's what? More than a dozen upcoming high profile first party titles "More if you include budget titles" many of which are likely to release in 2020.
Now mind you, Sony doesn't typically release first party stuff long after the start of the new generation, third party yes, but are you really telling me that they'll be baiting and switching a good half a dozen or so AAA first party PS4 games and moving them to PS5? That seems like a good way to lose a massive portion of your late adopters of the PS4 if they bought their PS4 specifically for those games, the chances they'll upgrade will drop to near nil if Sony did this...
@AFCC Hardly, there are other genres far worse off like 3-D Platformers, those have almost completely disappeared outside of a few rather impressive indies such as Yooka Laylee, A Hat In Time, and Poi. Turn-based JRPG's are super rare now too. Man I miss the hordes of turn-based games we used to get. Action RPG's when done right are better than turn-based, but most seem to be nothing more than mindless hack and slashers anymore.
@NintendoFan4Lyf That would blow furry chunks all over since usually legacy support for the last gen systems provides us with the best experiences of the entire previous generation during the first year or two of the new generation while usually the next gen system gets pretty lousy games during the same time-frame after the usually excellent launch lineup.
Edit: Except Nintendo which treats its previous generation like yesterday's garbage and tosses it aside at the very start of the new generation.
@Neolit We'll also likely get some beautiful JRPG's at the tail-end of PS4's life-cycle such as The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III & IV just as I & II did in 2015 and 2016 on PS3. Sure they won't win any awards for realistic visuals, but the art-style of the series is quite gorgeous and the story is well thought out.
@Flaming_Kaiser So essentially the destruction of the internet, oh joy...
@Get2SammyB Will press websites like Push Square and my own be able to use press assets and links that we have permission from the owners to publish or will the online outlets simply be forced to vanish into the sunset?

Yet Netflix and Hulu have been in the red every fiscal quarter since their inception. Sounds more like a good way to commit corporate suicide...
Re: Game of the Year 2018: #2 - Red Dead Redemption 2
Game of The Year contender? More like Snore of The Year contender.
Roasting aside I hope those of you who bought the game are enjoying your time with it.
Re: Persona 5 R Announced for PS4, More Details Coming in 2019
@Hapuc @Ryall Remember Persona 2 got a proper sequel so it's possible, we'll know either way come March.
Re: Persona 5 R Announced for PS4, More Details Coming in 2019
@OmegaYato What if it's a sequel?
Re: Game of the Year 2018: #4 - Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
@Spectra Even though I don't agree that it sounds bad, at least I now know what you're getting at.

Re: Guide: All Free PS Plus Games in 2019
Also I'm guessing that it'll still release on the first Tuesday in the month, holidays have never stopped the routine pattern before.
Re: Guide: All Free PS Plus Games in 2019
You mean starting from April.
March 7th is the cutoff which means we'll be getting PS3 and Vita games in March.
Re: The Game Awards 2018: Obsidian's Making a Space RPG Called The Outer Worlds Coming to PS4
Ooh! This looks rather interesting, I'll have to keep an eye out for more information regarding this title!

Uh...both the Vita AND PS3 offerings are MIA from the console storefronts...
Re: Tales of Graces F
@ShogunRok @Get2SammyB Why the fronk is there no review for this game?! This is easily the best game in the series hands-down... >_<
Re: Tales of Innocence R
@consolfreak1982 Now almost every Tales game comes to NA with the exception of this one apparently...
Re: Tales of Innocence R
@consolfreak1982 It was the same here in the states until the second half of the PS3's life-cycle.
Re: US PS Store Flash Sale Hopes to Bust Your Wallet This Weekend
@Th3solution I have the original on PS3 and the remaster doesn't seem worth more than $10 if you already have the PS2 version.
Gravity Rush 2 is tempting though! :3
Re: US PS Store Flash Sale Hopes to Bust Your Wallet This Weekend
@rjejr I got Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age myself.
Re: US PS Store Flash Sale Hopes to Bust Your Wallet This Weekend
@rjejr Hey there! Did you purchase anything during the Black Friday sale on PSN?
Re: US PS Store Flash Sale Hopes to Bust Your Wallet This Weekend
Any JRPG's on-sale?

@Tasuki I see, thanks for the informative response!
Re: PS Plus Subscribers in Chicago Will Soon Have to Pay More
Isn't this double-taxation though "which is against federal law"?
So you get taxed for sales tax now AND and additional 10% "Amusement Tax"? What utter BS...

Re: Japanese Developer Sheds More Light on Sony Censorship Scenario
@FullbringIchigo Because this issue isn't affecting Nintendo in the slightest at present.
Re: Japanese Developer Sheds More Light on Sony Censorship Scenario
Next stop T games will be disallowed, and then E10+, until all we're left with are EC rated games...
Re: The PlayStation Classic Has a Different Selection of Games in Japan
@rjejr That's actually Arc The Lad 4. Arc The Lad 1-3 were on PSOne.

Re: PlayStation Hits PS4 Range Expands in Europe and North America

It's been down for upwards of 8 hours straight here, the only thing that hasn't gone down is the messaging feature...
Re: PS4 Messages Designed to Brick Your Console Reported By Users
@Katep It depends, it can help as long as there aren't any trolls on your friend's list.

Will sending things like smileys that aren't available on PS4 through your PS3 also brick people's PS4's?
