Re: Feature: How Many PlayStation Predictions Did We Get Correct at Gamescom 2014?

eaglebob345

@SimonAdebisi What they should do, if they really don't want to add emulation for PS3 games, is make it so that people who own a game don't have to pay to stream those specific games. Just insert the disc and stream from the server. It's a lot better plan than siphoning from their fans. Or they could have way to download them from PSN for free if you own them like anyone who owned The Last of Us on PS3 should get Remastered free on PSN. There are a lot of better options than PS Now.

Re: Feature: How Many PlayStation Predictions Did We Get Correct at Gamescom 2014?

eaglebob345

@ztpayne7 I know. It's just that could have been one of those nice surprises. If Sony wants to spend money on third party games, it should be to keep games like Kingdom Hearts 3 exclusive, not getting a sequel to an xbox and PC game that not many people care about, like Dreamfall Chapters. Now I gotta hope Microsoft doesn't swoop in and secure KH3 as an exclusive...

Re: Reaction: Why Lara Croft Will Still Raid PS4 in Rise of the Tomb Raider

eaglebob345

Exclusives are the reasons to buy consoles in the first place, people. Stop complaining. Even if it is a timed exclusive, it is exclusive to help push XB1 sales, which is the same with Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U (albeit under different circumstances). People who complain about not getting exclusives on their platform of choice don't really like to play games, they like to argue over childish console war type things.

Personally, the only SE game that interests me is KH3, so Tomb Raider does nothing for me. At the moment I am torn between XB1 and PS4 (I would be leaning PS4 IF it was backwards compatible, but it's their loss), so really whichever of the three consoles (Wii U included, I know it shocks some people) gets KH1-3 is my choice.

Re: Reckon the PS Vita's Got No Game? This Three Hour Video Will Prove You Wrong

eaglebob345

@N711 So basically you are saying that the Vita also has games for a younger audience, just as I said 3DS also has games for an older audience. Yes, between the two, the 3DS has a better overall appeal for children, as it does with everyone as a whole (Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Kingdom Hearts, and Resident Evil can all appeal to to the older audience). I believe I misunderstood your original comment. What it sounded like you meant was that the 3DS was meant for kids and Vita for everyone (evidenced by the "sorry if some don't like hearing that"). Also, I was not trying to lower one handheld to another, just relaying the situation as I see it.

Re: Reckon the PS Vita's Got No Game? This Three Hour Video Will Prove You Wrong

eaglebob345

@N711 It's more like the 3DS has a lot for everyone, while the Vita is mainly for "mature" players. People may say that the 3DS (and Nintendo) is for kids, but those are usually the most immature of all of us. The Vita has mostly PS3 ports with a few exclusives tossed in the mix. While there is nothing wrong with that, it also means that it has nothing to compel PS3 owners to buy it. As for 3DS owners those "kids" would rather play something more than "mature" games and ports of old PS3 games that failed to entice them to get a PS3 in the first place.

I am mainly a handheld player, but the Vita is not all that intriguing for me. It lost a lot of points for not being BC (which has been present in almost every Nintendo handheld), Sony doesn't seem to care about it anymore, I have not seen a commercial for it in years, and although I never had a PS3, it does not have any appealing games to me still. All I hear about it mostly is that it is more powerful than the 3DS (which I couldn't care less about), it has higher resolution than the 3DS (again, couldn't care less), and a new one here today about the design being bad. IMHO, the GBA was the worst designed handheld Nintendo had, which is what the PSP and Vita feel like to me, so I don't know where the "3DS design is bad" stuff comes from.

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Pushes the Power of the PS4

eaglebob345

@RawWilson1 It's just Call of Duty, it is going to change about as much as Assassin's Creed would, which is barely if any. They know that the throng of yearly "hardcore gamerz" are going to buy it anyways, so they don't have to change it. Hopefully they give more of the spotlight to Destiny than Call of Duty. Destiny deserves it more than Call of Duty ever did.

Re: Square Enix Unlocks Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Limited Edition on PS3

eaglebob345

@ToddlerNaruto Thanks, I'll look into them. Do you think the PS3 would be getting a price drop some time soon? It is still a bit high for an old console, imo. I mean, I got a Wii for $80 right before I got a Wii U, so I was hoping I could get one around $100-150, preferably one that can play PS2 games (if they even have those anymore).

Re: Square Enix Unlocks Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Limited Edition on PS3

eaglebob345

@ToddlerNaruto I know, but what disappoints me the most is Sony's lack of backwards compatibility on the Vita and PS4. I was going to get these KH collections with a PS4, but now I am just going to either wait for some BC to be patched in or wait for KH3 before getting a PS4. I still am not that interested in most of Sony's first party offerings, except for Infamous (which I can get on the PS4 now), but $250 is a bit to high for me at the moment for a system that I know I will only want 2-5 games on. It is not to bash Sony's first party games by any means, but they just are not the reason I ever owned a Sony console.

Re: PS4 and PS3 Survival Horror The Evil Within Will Scare You Silly a Week Early

eaglebob345

@Gamer83 I'd say the only games on that list you should consider are Destiny, Far Cry, and The Evil Within. The other three are all yearly games. In my opinion, The Evil Within should be at the top of that list, considering that it is the only one of the six games you mentioned that is offering something unique. What I mean by that is out of the other five games, three of them are FPS, one is a yearly sports game, and the last is a yearly AC game. Of course, this is just my opinion of your opinion, it's not like I am trying force beliefs on you or anything. waves beliefs vigorously

I would be getting it, but right now I have my sights set on Bayonetta 2 for October.

Re: European Developers Favour PlayStation 4 Ahead of Any Other Console

eaglebob345

@Demi_God An xbox gaming computer would be an excellent idea. That way I could play games and use it for school. They could make it customizable like a PC as well, for those who love PC's and they could even still release new models after some time to appease the console lovers as well. Let it play XB and PC games and it could be a hit. Microsoft should be in the best position with all of their options, but seems they don't want to explore any of them.

Re: European Developers Favour PlayStation 4 Ahead of Any Other Console

eaglebob345

@Punished_Boss I know, they came back swinging with the XB360. Microsoft has a rather large fanbase, considering that Windows users still count, imo. Microsoft might get me if Scalebound is as good as it should be along with snagging KH3. If Sony tosses out anything that intrigues me before KH3 I may get the PS4 instead, but right now Sony has to try harder to get me.

If one of them (Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo) can pull something extraordinary it'll only be better for everyone. Sometimes I wish they would all band together to make a super box, to stop all of the mindless internet arguments.

Re: Microsoft's Messaging Mishaps Prompted PS4 Boss to Re-Write E3 Script

eaglebob345

@Reverend_Skeeve It strikes me as odd that Sony would get a patent like that in the age of technology, where everything on the internet can spread like wildfire. It would be some sad irony if Nintendo implemented universal accounts in the same generation that Sony linked games to accounts though, wouldn't it? XD Hopefully Sony doesn't do something that stupid, though.

Re: Microsoft's Messaging Mishaps Prompted PS4 Boss to Re-Write E3 Script

eaglebob345

After mandating PS Plus and PS Now's existance, I doubt that Sony didn't have a similar setup as Microsoft. The world may never know the whole truth, just what they want to tell us. It goes right into my book of doubts, right next to every third party company that claimed they would fully support the Wii U, Nintendo for saying that those third parties were going to support the Wii U, and my doubt that Microsoft will ever shelve their DRM practices completely.

Re: Review: EA Sports UFC (PlayStation 4)

eaglebob345

@Davros79 Thanks. I was just trying to make sure I wasn't seeing things weirdly. The game does look nice in screenshots, although, Bruce Lee seems to packing more than just a punch (sorry, thats my last Bruce Lee dong joke). XD

Re: Review: Valiant Hearts: The Great War (PlayStation 4)

eaglebob345

@Crimson_Ridley I critique them based off of gameplay, not graphics and art style (which I call presentation). However, I can't take any of the new 2D gamesseriously. That is not to say that I don't like 2D at all, for example, the older games like Pokemon, Wolfenstein and Mario will always be good, but why does NSMBU have to exist, when the much better SM3DW exists? Still, that's just my opinion, that's isn't what I think everyone does or should believe. Gamplay should always mature with the times, why else do you think the new wolfenstein looks so much different than the old one? No one in their right mind would have bought it if it was the same linear game as before. 2D games should have evolved into 3D games by now. No one wants more 2D pixelated DS pokemon games with sprites, now they are represented by 3D models. Again, that's just the way I see things, not the way I think everybody should see them. I have felt that way ever since I first started playing games. I never wanted Mario 2D games, when I could have openish zelda and pokemon games (as they game the illusion of a 3D world to me), but even they have advanced into 3D. It isn't like I started playing on HD consoles either (I'm representing the Gameboy and Gameboy Color) it is just how I view the way games should be. I didn't endure 15 years of video games for more 2D games, especially from a company that blows money on crap (AC), while tossing out a miniscule budget for CLEARLY better games (Valiant Hearts, Child of Light, and whatever they are going to do to sully Prince of Persia further). It's not to be mean or hateful in any way it is just how I feel games should progress. Why waste all that power thay developers have been asking for on 2D games? That's all I'm saying.

EDIT: Edited the crap out of it to make it a little broader, and to make some sense. Changed it to move more towards 3D games should be the result of 2D games from years ago. Prince of Persia was a 2D game at one time then advanced into 3D, why hold it back now?

Re: The PlayStation 4 Just Can't Catch A Break In Japan

eaglebob345

@Gamer83 Yeah, the Sony has great Japanese support for their consoles, but the PS4 should have had more at it's launch. They could have upscaled some of their own Vita games (Gravity Rush, Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice, etc.) and promoted cross play and cross buy, not remote play (or downscaled some PS4 game for the same effect). I am interested to see what Sony does with Platinum, but I am more interested in which company gives Mistwalker and Ganbarion a bigger chance. They have proved they can male excellent games, now I wait for their new projects.

Re: The PlayStation 4 Just Can't Catch A Break In Japan

eaglebob345

@Gamer83 If you're looking for excuses, look for one for the Vita. It sold less than half the 3DS. The home console numbers will all look bad in a country that wants something different (handhelds). I think the PS4 will pick up when game like MGS, KH, and FF are released. Wii U maybe with with SSB, XCX, SMTxFE, and Hyrule Warriors. The Wii U did get a boost from MK8, even if it isn't as high as people would hope.

Re: Review: Valiant Hearts: The Great War (PlayStation 4)

eaglebob345

I'm gonna pass. If Ubi can't spend money on something that is good (this, child of light, whatever side-scrolling nonsense they are going to make the next prince of persia into) and keep using that side-scrolling Ubiart engine, they can kiss my money goodbye. Child of Light and Prince of Persia should DEFINITELY be 3D games, imo, having a miniscule budget for good games like those makes me even more mad when they spend buckets of cash on lackluster games (my, opinion of course) like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Watch Dogs. Some people like those high budget spectacles, but not me. I just saw an advertisement for Far Cry 4: explosion, gun, explosion, elephant pushes over car, then explosion. NO! It is basically the same with Watch_Dogs advertisements, minus the elephant, of course. They could keep the same art style with a 3D game. That is the same reason I won't by games like Yoshi's Wooly World: it could have had the same art, but been up to date like Super Mario 3D World. It has 3D and 2.5D stages. Bottomline: for me side-scrollers are a waste of money in this day and age.
