Re: Sony: Backward Compatibility Is a Requested Feature, But Not Greatly Used

eaglebob345

@raptor That would be awesome. I would pay a little extra, $50-100 extra, for a PS system that can play all PS games, but that's just me. Same for Xbox. To me, all three current consoles should be able to play/emulate each of their disc based predecessor's games. All it takes is a little work and if Sony was really "for the players" they would recognize that some of us want it and make it happen.

Re: Poll: Which PS4 Exclusives Has E3 2015 Convinced You to Buy?

eaglebob345

<==== KH3!!! Not exclusive, but still!
As for exclusives, Horizon and maybe UC4, if I make it through the first three. Not totally convinced the Last Guardian will be out next year, nor do I understand the hype for it, but that's just me. I've decided to still wait for KH3 to come out before making the plunge, unless Sony wants to add BC. Come on Sony, everybody's doing it!

Re: Sony: Backward Compatibility Is a Requested Feature, But Not Greatly Used

eaglebob345

I loved both Microsoft and Sony conferences and I will get both consoles eventually. However, that backwards compatibility is what is making me want a One first. I got a Wii U first because of that. Heck, if Nintendo's NX plays Wii U (and possibly 3DS games) and launches before Kingdom Hearts 3, I might get one of those before getting a PS4. Point is that BC is an important factor for me.

Re: Feature: We Grade E3 2015's Press Conferences

eaglebob345

@get2sammyb I know, it was almost unanimously decided that it was bad. I was prepared for disappointment, from their earlier statements that Zelda wouldn't be there and they were focussing on games coming out rather than in development, but I didn't expect it to be THAT bad... Sony and Microsoft shone bright, though. And I got more footage of Kingdom Hearts 3, so I am still pretty happy. I think I want to get both an XB1 and PS4 now. Truth be told, Microsoft won me over with their backwards compatibility and I've wanted to get into Halo and Gears of War for a while now, but Horizon alone is making me want a PS4. It and Xenoblade Chronicles X are right up my alley. I may even get one before KH3 comes out. I folded on the Wii U with MK8, told myself I would wait for X... I regret nothing!

Re: Feature: We Grade E3 2015's Press Conferences

eaglebob345

@get2sammyb We understand, but it's totally cool if you wanna give Nintendo the D- they earned, though. XD It would have been better if they added Devil's Third, Fatal Frame, and Zelda in the Digital Event. It would have at least earned C with those in there...

Re: Reaction: Sony Delivers the Greatest E3 Press Conference of All Time

eaglebob345

@freaksloan Basically the same for me, minus a Vita as well. At this point, I'm not getting another Sony console without Kingdom Hearts on it, and it looks like XB1 may take me for 3 if Sony doesn't reciprocate some backwards compatibility. I really want to get into Uncharted, but I spent too much break time playing Monster Hunter... I'll get there eventually.

Re: Round Up: What Did Sony Announce During Its E3 2015 Press Conference?

eaglebob345

Was a pretty good show. Too bad people are trying to give Sony props for doing the exact same crap with The Last Guardian that Square Enix did with Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. I now have a PS3 I don't even want because Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't going on it, just like some people got a PS3 for The Last Guardian. To make matters worse, Microsoft beat Sony to the punch with Backwards Compatibility. As far as I am concerned, Microsoft may not have beaten Sony, but Sony did not mop the floor with Microsoft by any means.
Now we wait for Nintendo and Square Enix to wrap up the big announcements. Although, I have a feeling that people are going to be a little disappointed today, but if anyone is good at surprises, it's Nintendo. I want a Dream Drop Distance port from SE, I can't play the game where others can see it otherwise. They don't even have an excuse about second screens because the Wii U and PS3/4-Vita connectivity exists, and the game didn't even require two screens.
As for Nintendo, Metroid, F-Zero, Zelda, Fatal Frame, Xenoblade, Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Shin Megami Tensei, Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, etc. If you can think it, they better have it on Wii U because, at present, I can't realistically see them besting anyone's conference this year. We are at least bound to see something good though, so I will be cautiously optimistic.

Re: Review: Dragon Ball XenoVerse (PlayStation 4)

eaglebob345

"You see, XenoVerse certainly isn't your standard fighting game. It's far more Dragon Ball Online than it is Budokai 3, and as such, if you were looking forward to a somewhat traditional brawler, you'll be severely disappointed."

Well, that counts me out. I was REALLY hoping for it to be more like Budokai 2 and 3...

Re: Feature: Why Do Next-Gen Games Keep Disappointing?

eaglebob345

@sinalefa That's pretty much my situation at the moment. I am holding off on other systems until Kingdom Hearts 3 actually has a release date announcement before falling for a new system. Mario Kart actually tipped the scales for both Wii U and 3DS for me.

Re: Kingdom Hearts III Development Purportedly Progressing to Plan

eaglebob345

@Zup The command deck is actually pretty useful. I liked it more than having the magic gauge from KH2. They said the battle system was to be based off of KH3D, using flowmotion at least, so they might implement the command deck. I don't mind either way, as long as it isn't based off of that garbage from Chain of Memories. 😛

Re: Talking Point: Is Japan Finally Back in the Game?

eaglebob345

Knowing that KH3 is being focused on makes me want FFXV a little more. I would say Japan is back in the game, but games like Fatal Frame and Yakuza make me wish the Japanese would stop deciding we don't like games before we get to even play them. TGS looks to be quite successful, although E3 and Gamescom stole the show in terms of new reveals.

Re: Despite PS4's Success, Sony Expects to Lose a Lot of Money Again

eaglebob345

@Punished_Boss Playstation Insurance sound fun! XD
Seriously though, what else would they cut besides TV and Smartphones? I was thinking that they should spin-off Playstation and their other profitable divisions into seperate entities (so they won't be held back by Sony's dead limbs) and do a sink or swim aprroach on the rest of their divisions.

Re: Round Up: Destiny PS4 Reviews Shoot for the Moon

eaglebob345

I don't really want this game based on the sole reason that it is a FPS, because I dislike FPS. That said, I dont think any of these reviews matter. If you like and want the game, get it. The opinions from rwriters on sites that praise yearly sports, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty games should NEVER be considered valid.

Re: Review: Destiny (PlayStation 4)

eaglebob345

@junguler That's exactly what I feel. I just avoid FPS, as they no longer interest me. TPS have always been my thing, which is why Mass Effect and Star Wars Battlefront were so awesome to me.

Also, the thing that annoys me the most about this game is that an uninformed person might think it is a TPS from the commercials I saw (the US ones, anyway). The only other FPS that did that to me before was Deus Ex, which I ended up getting because I thought it was a TPS.

Re: Feature: How Many PlayStation Predictions Did We Get Correct at Gamescom 2014?

eaglebob345

@ztpayne7 Never underestimate the stupidity and greed of third-party companies. Also, never underestimate the influence Microsoft has in this industry with money. Square Enix is as susceptible to money as any other third party company, such as EA, Ubisoft, and Capcom who all readily accept bribes for exclusivity. I don't like it at all, but Square Enix has shown that they are just as greedy as any other company out there.
