@MightyDemon82 I haven’t played Nier yet, but Bioshock comes to mind for an example of a good hacking mini-game.

Oops, I’d forgotten about Get Even. Bought it upon it’s release and played a good few hours of it. Really enjoyed it but I think I’ll have to do a restart to get back into it’s story.
Anyway, better finish it before Chernobylite comes out because I’ll probably buy this too.

That was a great trailer, and the humour was a nice touch. I’m pretty intrigued to learn more.

I’m not that bothered by these early reveals, Liam, but I completely understand your point of view. After all, as far as I’m aware, being a journalist for this site is your bread and butter, so this industry is far more present in your daily life.
These early reveals take away the ‘whole-package experience’ from the actual event. It’s like having plot spoilers before seeing a movie, or a tv show, or reading a book. The entertainment event has a beginning, middle and end, but knowing significant bits of it beforehand will lessen the impact.

Nice review, Rebecca! I bought this the other day and had about an hour’s go on it this morning, just to see what it was like. Colour me impressed, although the crafting elements seemed a bit overwhelming, but from your review it sounds like I could just go exploring and brave the natives before worrying about base building.

Completely agree with this article and others’ comments! It may seem like ‘little things’, but life is made up of little things, things that can make a difference either way. A nice, solid structure like a house? That’s made up of little important things called bricks 🧱

Is this a good crop of games for you this month? It’s great when a game you like becomes available on ps plus, but it’s a bit of a poop when you’ve already got it...even worse if you’ve just bought it! But that’s the nature of the beast, I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m trying to be a bit more self disciplined when it comes to buying new releases, because my backlog is huge, but I also like to show my support and appreciation for the developer’s efforts.
I could wait, as I imagine CoC will probably come down in price quite quickly, but I reckon I’ll succumb to the urge to buy it.

@jdv95 Don’t know about yourself, but I can always chuck an extra 4 to 6 hours on top of a reviewer’s stated play time...particularly with these sort of games.

I think that trailer may be tonally different to reflect the fact Fallout 76 isn’t a traditional Fallout experience. I won’t be buying the game myself, but I think it’ll sell quite well...just maybe not as well as Bethesda hopes.

Normally, I wouldn’t watch something like this because of spoilers, but my takeaway is that the atmosphere and story intrigue appear to be top notch, but the character animations look a bit janky plus some of the character models appear to be repeated. I’m sure at least 2 or 3 characters that were stood in a group together all looked the same. The audio ambience seemed a bit lacking too. BUT, I am still super excited for this game and will definitely be buying it.
