Re: Poll: How Was Final Fantasy 16's State of Play Showcase?

rachetmarvel

Here are my two cents

Pro:
1.I love the music, environment and overall atmosphere of the game, it is definitely true ti final fantasy in that regard
2. The story seems to be much more interesting this time around. And the dev seems to be interested in giving us a well thought out story, instead of what we got in FF13 and FF15.

I am also a fan of the age progression thing they will do, but I would be lying if I didn't think that they should have kept it as a suprise for us when we play the game.

Cons:
1. The character design is still to subdued for a final fantasy game, imo. People who hate anime might like that, but it makes the characters lose their final fantasy charm, and when it comes to Clive, look boring AF imo.

Noxtus crew looks cooler than Clives crew.

2. The character models look somehow less impressive than Final fantasy 7 remake. Check Clive and Jill's reunion, their facial expressions doesn't match their emotions.

3. Not being able to control other party member. If FF15 could allow us to do this(albeit later via an update), then I see no reason why we can't do it in FF16.

Maybe they fear having gameplay systems for party members would be detriment to the story, since we will be playing Clive at his various ages?

What I am unsure of:

1. Hack and slash DMC combat. I don't dislike that combat, but for an rpg I do prefer turn based, because hack and slash does get tiring when playing 100+ hours rpg. So we will see how enjoyable the DMC gameplay is.

2. The enemies do look spongy, which isn't good, but the boss battle looks cool and epic.

3. I do like that it isn't full on open world, but does anybody else feel that it looks kinda dry at times?

Anyway, all I know is that this game is going to be a success.
From its marketing, to it being hailed the final fantasy game that everyone has been excited for since slice bread, to it revamping its gamplay to match that of a popular franchise like DMC , to people praising it looking more western and less anime(the anime hate is still real, lol), and finally it being a Final Fantasy game in general, will help it break alot of sale records.

Will the story be great? Will Clive become an iconic MC despite his subdued look? Will the DMC gameplay satisfy even the most loyal turn based fan? Will it be the game to finally meet expectations for SQ sales fantasy?
Well ,we will find out in June.

Re: Oh No, 'Exciting' Persona News Has Been Teased Again

@McBurn A man of Culture I see.

But seriously, Trails gameplay is great.

It's has great depth, but it isn't to complicated that you would get lost. It's fun, and it takes far longer for me to get burned out from a single gaming session with Trails, then I do when compared to other turn-based jrpg's.

I also think the story is much more interesting than most persona games, given that each Trails game is like part of an arch, that all comes together for an overarching plot.

The only thing that Persona has over Trails, especially Persona 5,is better visuals and overall polish of the game, imo.

Re: SEGA's Demon Slayer Tie-In Tops Three Million Units Sold

rachetmarvel

@Nepp67 I to prefer that.

Even so, there are disadvantage of an Arcsys Bleach fighter.

1. Since it's an Arcys game, you have like a max of 15 to 20 characters at launch ,which isn't big enough for Bleach imo.

There will be alot of fan favorite characters left out of the game, even when all the dlcs are done.

This very worrisome for Bleach, because of its large cast of characters.

2. Modern day Arcsys are on a mission to simplify their fighting games, which includes giving characters fewer special moves as possible( 3-4 special moves), thus alot of the characters moves from the anime/manga won't be able to transfer to the fighting game faithfully.

The only way to lessing the problem of this, is to make the Bleach fighter a Tag fighter like dragonball fighter Z.

3. The single player content won't be good.
I have zero faith in Arcsys to create a story mode, with faithfully written storyline for Bleach, which also has a balance of gameplay.

I also have no faith in them going the extra mile to include other fun single player modes beyond, Arcade and a time trial.

CC2 fixes many of this issues by making games with alot of the characters avaliable, and incorporating them with a movelist that is very faithfully to the source material, without caring about balance or bloat.

They also create a more fun and interactive single player mode than Arcsys does.

The obvious disadvantage of a CC2 game, is that the visuals won't look as good as Arcsys, and that it will most likely play as an arena fighter, which although fun to play with friends, isn't well balanced or competitively viable.

@Ken_Kaniff Eh,if you are into a fighting game, then you can definitly play it for that long.

People still play games like Guilty Gear ac+r, Blazblue Central Fiction,Skull girls, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and 3, Street fighter 3rd strike and 4, and the various KOF games to this day.

For me, you can still catch me playing Guilty Gear ac+r and Blazblue Central Fiction even in 10 years time.

Re: Granblue Fantasy Versus Sequel Adds New Story, Characters, Moves, Rollback Netcode, Crossplay in 2023

rachetmarvel

@nomither6 You're the only one that thinks this. Central Fiction is literally just a better Chronophatsma extend.

With more characters, more gamplay mechanics added, better battle UI,better character select screen, and a better balanced game.

The only thing that CPEX has over CF is an English dub, and that additional single player content that didn't carry over to CF.

Also your point about CF not playing like other Blazblue games before is a lie. This makes me wonder if you have actually played Blazblue before.

@Sgt_Peppa There is nothing uncomfortable, and you are one of those people who like to cry about anime being problematic.

If you don't like those things in anime or jrpg then don't watch those anime or play those jrpg, nobody going to stop you. The problem I have with people like you, is that they try to make anime and jrpg fans feel guilty for just enjoying what they like. You lot online always have to patronize people over a cartoon. Hence self-righteous haters.

But anyway, the guy I replied to is known to hate jrpg even when it doesn't have any loli things( which I assume both you guys are crying about, and trying to generalizes anime as).

Re: Infamous Internet Leaker Retires from Snitching on Major Games

rachetmarvel

What a shame, I enjoy leaks.

Leaks helped me choose when to skip a game event, and when not to. They also help me see through some devs bs, and how they string us along with their will they or will they not attitude announcements ( cough *Atlus*cough), and using that as boost for their events views,pr and marketing.

Leaker, I don't know who you are, but if you are reading this, at least know one person here appreciates your work, and you will be missed.

Leaking just like piracy, may it never end.
