Re: Soapbox: PS5 Pricing Is Setting Releases Like Returnal Up to Fail

rockertherockgod

I never buy games on release - two reasons - firstly they usually are buggy and need a few patches. Then after a month the price usually drops - wait 3-6 months and the price drops again sometimes up to 50% - watch dogs legion has only been out a little over a month and its under £40. My advice is to buy a ps5 in 6 months time, then by the time you've caught up games will be cheaper.

The other way would be to buy at full price on release, complete the game and then sell on through ebay or music magpie and you'll get at least half the value back.

Third way - sign up to boomerang rentals and pay a fraction of the cost. I pay £3,99 a month to get games 6 months old and find it the most cost effective way to play.

@TheAdza I agree I think Sony will combine PS+ and PSNOW which would give all Ps5 users access to the majority of the p4 back catalogue, certainly the PS exclusives as a way to get PC and Xbox customers to snap up a Playstation. This combined with great exclusives will be how Sony win.

Love all the games and still play through them all once a year at least. Its worth getting the PS4 version as they run at 60fps and the gunplay is a lot better than the originals due to this and more consistent aiming. I would love to be discovering these first 3 for the first time - Uncharted i got when i got my PS3 and was blown away at the time. I certainly want more uncharted for my ps5 and thought the lost legacy was one of the strongest in the series so give me my Cutter game!

Re: Watch Dogs Legion and More Will Utilise PS5's 'Extremely Interesting' Features, Says Ubisoft

Sooner or later developers and/or Sony will need to state what is happening with cross platform games. Will there be a PS4 game and a PS5 game or will you buy one and then be able to download a patch (for free or low cost) to get the advantages of the new hardware? If this isnt addressed I can see a drop in sales for any of these big games next year as many people will wait for the superior PS5 version.

Re: Sony Plans to Show Plenty of Trailers at TGS 2019

i dont remember it being like this for ps3 but its starting to feel like everyone is already geared to ps5. I think sony and games publishers if they want to sell their games next year have to tell us there will be a free ps5 patch for these games (if they do indeed come to ps4) otherwise sales will drop in anticipation for the definative ps5 version - im looking at GOT, TLOU2 as well as third party like Cyberpunk, Dying Light and Avengers.

Why do the likes of EA, Ubisoft and others get all the grief for microtransactions when Rockstar are the worse and have been raking it in for years. I admit i bought GTA V on PS3 and then again on PS4 because i hoped there to be some single player DLC - surely Rockstar owe us this? Obviosuly everyone who buys a PS4/XBox buys a copy of GTA V!

Re: PS5 Backwards Compatibility Is a Huge Deal for Sony as Bosses Call It a 'Critical Success Factor'

rockertherockgod

I think Sony have got it right with ps4 BC and in my opinion ps1,2, and 3 isnt required especially if they play but not with any enhancements - do you know how bad a ps1 game would look on a 65 inch 4k tv? What i do want with PS4 BC though is improvements so its in line with a decent pc - AC Origins/Odyssey, GTA V, Just Cause all in 4k and 60 FPS would make those games relevant and i expect people would buy them again if they didnt have them.
