@Deljo When it comes to first-party releases, Sony have dropped the ball. But all 3rd party games I prefer playing on the PS5 and PSVR2 over my Quest 3. The functions of the PSVR2 are amazing for immersiveness.
@Deljo Hahaha, touché. I myself do not like mixed reality. I wanna be enclosed in a full virtual world. Don't care about playing games that take place in my living room.
Will the director's cut have interactive classes like Bully? Curfews for what essentially are kids attending school? Paintings and environments that are not copy pasted all over the place? Class points if you do well in the interactive classes and not be out/get caught after curfew? You know, things that Bully got right 20 years ago which makes you feel like a student. Something that one of the biggest studios in the world cannot get right with today's technology.
No, this is shi*. No VR support for what is essentially a VR game. Sony really can’t sell products. They have been selling PS5 as people were stuck at home due to the pandemic. Now they could not even sell a PS5 to a PS2 owner. Sony has become full of themselves worse than Apple. Plus, Astro Bot on PS5 was free. Sony really thinking this is the next Fortnite for some reason. Also, Concorde looked like a pile of dinosaur crap.
@thefourfoldroot1 That’s my fear. Since the PS5 has hardly a roadmap and neither does PSVR2, it makes me think that there is no roadmap/outline at all. Sony is just afraid to present the outline for PS5 and VR since it would have been so thin. We are in the fourth year of PS5 and second year of PSVR2 and I am not optimistic. They hope that the Portal and earbuds and other peripherals might generate revenue to cover the lack of games. Also, if one of the many upcoming live service games takes off then that will definitely generate money to keep the executives happy.
@thefourfoldroot1 Very happy! But the coming year is looking bleak. I have played RE 4 and Village and do not replay games. GT7 is a casual game I play sometimes. Not many other AAA games. Sony made it seem that it will be easier than ever to have hybrid games. If these are the only games we are getting in the coming year or two then we only have indie games...I want AAA games in VR. We don't even have a proper shooter with a good story. Synapse is a fun game but it is more of an arcade game. 3rd party developers delivering something thankfully.
I have a Logitech G Cloud that can do what the Portal does plus Game Pass, GeForce Now, emulators, and much more. Am glad you have a use for it but you are limited to playing on the PS5 only.
I feel a little tricked. They announced GT7, Climb of the Mountain (mediocre game btw), and RE Village for release. I thought that they were setting a standard for the future of PSVR2 where we would expect similar releases during the course of the year. Sony's own title Horizon was really sub-par. A climbing game. Capcom has helped keep PSVR2 alive but Sony is really stumbling on this one. Jim Ryan did not greenlight this product and he has not supported it. Instead we get a screen to carry and earbuds that make you look like a nerd if worn in public. Great work, Sony!
@Fyz306903 Sure, for us gamers that would make more sense. Make a new story instead of just making a movie of the game we have already played. I think they are trying to reach audiences who have not heard of or played these games. Whether it is Uncharted, The Last of Us, or Until Dawn, the stories of these games are good already. Now they just gotta make a 20 hour game fit into a 2 hour runtime, haha. The Last of Us went the TV path to be able to tell the story better, but to be honest, the 2 games have barely enough story for 2-3 seasons. A lot of fillers.
@Fyz306903 To be fair, the game did feel like a movie more than a game. I think the story kind of got off the rails after the first half of the game. And let's not forget it had Rami Malek and Hayden Penittiere (or how it's spelled). So they were going for the movie atmosphere in the game.
The end is near! The industry keeps pushing products that are meant to make children addicted to such product. Used to be cigarettes now it is "free" games which over the course of a year end up costing more than an actual single-player game where you actually get to enjoy a story and patiently progress.
Come on ffs, update the list! Vampire: The Masquerade and Green Hell VR are out already! And Behemoth is delayed until late 2024. This is a site dedicated to PlayStation news...know the content!
I am tired of this cash-grabbing peripheral mindset. Nobody asked for new headphones or earbuds. I have the Pulse 3D headset already, you want me to pay again for a new headset? I don’t need the earbuds. Let me use my own earbuds over bluetooth! Forcing the user to use a USB dongle so their choices are limited and will most likely result in them getting the Sony product. Jim Ryan really needs to be fired. He is trying to get ”new” money from Playstation owners with new accessories and handhelds nobody asked for. Just wait for the wave of mediocre GaaS that are to be launched. Mark my words, unless Jim Ryan is fired and Playstation goes back to its roots which is making over-the-top single player games, this will be the beginning of Playstation’s demise and end their supremacy over the video game industry in the coming decade. PSVR2 is almost abandoned by Sony and that is one of the greatest products ever released for gaming! They should invest more in PSVR2 to make more AAA games for it so it becomes more mainstream. Jim Ryan did not greenlight PSVR2 and he seems indifferent to its success. Relying heavily on 3rd party studios making VR games is not a strategy Sony should be taking. If Sony’s leadership have any sense, Jim Ryan will be fired in 2024 or 2025. Playstation is the new Apple!

Re: Japan's New Language Locked PS5 Hasn't Made a Massive Difference to the Format's Domestic Fortunes
Consoles don’t sell consoles. Games sell consoles. And seeing as PS5 has had nothing of real interest coming out, I don’t see the tides turning.

Re: PSVR2 Misses Out on Civilization 7 VR
But it seems to be a mixed reality game. Won't work with PSVR2 anyway.

All 6 players who are interested in this game will be so disappointed.

Re: New PSVR2 Games Release Dates in 2023
VR Skater is coming July 21. And The 7th Guest is also releasing this year. Resident Evil 4 is coming as well.
