If I was an investor in this company, I would be losing my freaking mind. "We had a string of profitable Batman games, and a massive Harry Potter game, but let's just go ahead and double-down on the failure." Good lord.
I'd love to play VF3 again... I know Daytona 2 was in another Yakuza release as well. For God's sake Sega, just release these for sale on the digital storefronts!
This game was pretty bad back in 1999, no doubt it will be practically unplayable by today's standards. I wouldn't mind some of these D-list games coming for the sake of preservation, but there are so many great games in the PS1/PS2 era catalogs that are much more deserving. Given Sony's obviously cozy relationship with SquareEnix, it's shocking to me they haven't brought more of their games forward.
Once you are subscribed through the app on the PS5, can you use the same sign on to play through another device? I assume you can... using apple music on your console is cool, but I doubt I would get much use out of it. I primarily listen to music through my phone.
@LifeGirl That's true, but I have to say, the traversal in the first Spider-Man and Miles Morales was so good, it made just tooling around the city enjoyable.
Maybe R&C could do some of the dimension-swapping without an SSD, but regardless, being able to play games with barely any loading is fantastic. There's no way I could go back to the pre-ssd era after being spoiled with the speed of the new-gen consoles.
@RadioHedgeFund it seems like they're just screwing with us at this point. The number of big titles on PS1 and PS2 that they are just sitting on is getting ridiculous.
I'm glad I'm not the only one kind of shocked by Avowed... it just doesn't look compelling at all. Of course it has time to come together, but nothing about it made me interested in playing it.
I'm not big on online multi-player or live-service games, but it seems undeniable that Sony DOES need to venture into this space with some first-party titles for the sake of variety. They did somewhat in the past (MAG, SOCOM, Warhawk, Planetside) with some varying degrees of success. I don't think Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Santa Monica, Insomniac, et al are going to suddenly dump their story-focused titles to start making the next Division-style game. It seems they are doing the smart thing by acquiring some studios who know this space and can dedicate themselves to it, like Bungie.
I normally don't game much in the summer so I can take advantage of the nice weather, but good lord, between FF and Zelda? I don't think I can force myself to wait!
I'm pretty happy with the Plus tier this month; I played Doom Eternal on the PS4 and sold my physical copy, but I've been interested in trying it in the 120 FPS mode on PS5!
@get2sammyb I definitely think you are correct... Spiderman 2 alone is a huge, and the Playstation brand continues to be borderline synonymous with videogames at this point!
With the console shortages seemingly behind us, I'm very interested to see how long the booming sales last... there was a TON of pent up demand for the console among consumers struggling to buy one.
@Robocod I hadn't heard that about the PS5 being an issue with emulating PS2 games... very disappointing! I've thought about picking up older consoles to start collecting some of the PS2 and PS3 era titles I miss, but I kept holding out hope that Sony would beef up their PS Plus Premium offerings for retro titles. I may have to bite the bullet and start hunting them down!
I still love anything Ridge Racer , and R4 is one of the very best in the series. My great hope would be some type of collection of 1 - 7, even if it's bare bones, but I don't know if the appetite for it exists anymore. At least you can still buy RR6 on the Xbox digital store and play R4 and RR2 PSP on PS Plus to get a fix!

Re: Best PS1 Games
Weird that Syphon Filter is nowhere to be found. That was a pretty defining series for the PS1.
Re: PlayStation's Dual CEO Setup Has 'Opportunities and Risks'
It's like in The Office, when Jim and Michael Scott were co-managers. I'm sure it will work out swimmingly!
Re: Bubsy Is Back in the Purrfect Collection on PS5
I'm all for game preservation, but certainly there are more worthy titles that need a re-release than this?

Re: Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Soars Ever Higher, Clears 5 Million Sales Milestone
Glad to see this. I've loved the series from Ace 2 on... hopefully this gives Namco a push to deliver AC 8!

@Robocod Completely forgot about Maximo... that short-lived series was awesome! I'd be fine with even an HD collection at this point.
