Re: Rumour: Sony to Launch eBooks Initiative for PS3 and Vita

shingi_70

What would be the incentive for consumers or publishers? Sony has no viable intergrated store so a publisher would be limiting its reach while as a consumer chances are If I bought it hear I couldn't use it on any other device.

Seems kind of weird doming off the back of the Microsoft nook deal a couple of weeks back.

Re: Rumour: Sony Close to Acquiring Cloud Gaming Firm

shingi_70

Probably will be a beta announcement for demos and stuff. Honestly I understand they probably cant do it due to lack of experience in the field but I'd rather them build the service from the ground up instead of acquiring and trying to fit them in. That works with a few things but cloud gaming doesn't seem like one of them.
Does Sony by chance do anything in the cloud currently?

Re: Talking Point: Why 2012 is PS3's Most Mainstream Year Yet

shingi_70

I'm hoping Sony can get the pricing down on the ps3-vita combo packs. Also hoping to see more software I cant get anywhere else on ot.

And Sony better get that marketing machine ready. They may have the most crossover appeal this year but Sony has a decent line up almost every year they just have a problem with marketing stuff.

Re: Worldwide Vita Sales Reach 1.8 Million

shingi_70

Those are decent numbers for a launch. Cant expect every product to sell 1 million in a weekend. I blame lack of marketing and product awareness in the States and a horrid launch line up in Japan using western franchises as the selling point.

Re: Feature: How Sony is Dominating Pre-E3 Headlines

shingi_70

All they need to do is announce littlebigracing and playstation all stars I'm getting it. And FFX.

@slapshot

Yeah but kinect seems to only get drab reviews from gamers. The overall tech media and regular Joe's are in love with kinect and that's what's most important to getting it out the door.

@rjejr

But Japan usually goes with the first console out in that region so Wii U could easily grab that piece of the pie. Also America and Europe are bigger and more diverse markets than Japan alone and Sony just can't live off of that one market.

Not only that but Japan as a market is slowly becoming more focused on handheld units compared to consoles.

For some reason I find hitting its stride funny.

Yeah going into next gen sony has the most to lose as the playstation brand has been damaged. Japan usually goes with the first console out so its a good chance that the wii u will be the market leader and get most of the attention. That leaves sony to bulk up there and in europe where microsoft will no doubt be trying to make inroads in.

But a ps4 shouldn't be there focus they need to really push the vita with western support while keep all the niche jrpgs from jumping to the 3ds ship. And reinvest in move this year. Sowercy should be the marquee title that's pack in and hit thrid parites agressivly to use it even if you have to pay them. Make sure there are bioshock and epic mickey move bundles and try to grab call of duty for move support. No doubt microsoft is going to try to get kinect into black ops 2.

Re: Preview: Dragon's Dogma - The Sleeper Hit of 2012?

shingi_70

Nope its just microsoft likes to pay to get stuff exclusive on there system. Happened with the dead rising side games too. Personally getting the 360 version but isn't that buy it used to hurt the company hurtful to the industry and why online passes and stuff are becoming the norm.

Day 1. Game seems to agood blend if skyrim and monster hunter. Really hoping its a breakout hit so we ca. Get a sequel that expands k. It with multiplayer. If capcom plays there cards right this Can easily become the western monster hunter. Only thing is it fa Esther same problem Microsoft had with crackdown. Wherethey have a good game but bogs it down with promise of including a demo orbeta ora bigger franchise. That could either make the game do really well or backfire horribly as the game floods the2ndhand market.

But I don't think capcom should worry slowly ot looks like wrpgs is going to be the next big thing. Skyrim sold like crazy and other series like amalur and fable did really well in there last outings. Even dark soulssold 1.3 million of the 1.5 that was shipped. And compared to something like call of duty or heavy sci-fi wrpgs have a more diverse User base to pull from. If I recall about half the player of the mass effect and fable series were female.
