There seems to be no topic for this game? If there is I couldn’t find it, sorry.
I was playing in Siwa trying specifically to avoid the main quest, just futzing around with side quests and clearing everything before moving on, but while trying to rescue priests from a temple I guess I accidentally completed the main quest. That started a flashback and when I came back all the enemies were removed, effectively ruining those quests for me because I could just run right to the objectives unopposed. I feel like I’ll probably start the game over since I’m not far in, but wanted to know if this was a common scenario? Were all the enemies removed on purpose? Super frustrating.
I really can't think of the point you are referring too. I also can't recall that Siwa was significantly different on my return either. There is NO side quest, nothing you can't complete at any point in the game. It may just be a time of day thing so the enemies were not there but even the times where you clear enemies, kill 'captains' for example, if you go back at a later date, the enemies return - just not the 'yellow' marked enemies. That also goes for Lairs too with a specific animal to kill.
The world isn't 'static' either and you will see different behaviours whether day or night. Some things are quite static - like the shops for example - you can go to a blacksmith 24/7. Enemies can be in one place at one time but not the next - especially if they are just patrolling around an area - like Siwa rather than occupying a 'base'. If those enemies were there because they were alerted as you made your way to that temple, then when you return, they are no longer in the exact same place because they are patrolling a different part of the area. It could just be coincidence that they weren't there this time.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
Got this game from Gamefly today and played about an hour of it. I will say so far In am enjoying it lots to do and explore. I done a few side quests. I also like the RPG aspects they added as well. I can see this game being one of my top games for 2018. Definitely going to be sinking some time in this one.

Ok just looking for some advice. Now I am starting to carry alot of weapons I don't use anymore, should I sell them or destroy them for the crafting materials? Also I have a few things which I am wondering should I sell? It's white things like flutes and salt and odd stuff like that.

@Tasuki It maybe better to destroy some weapons as they give materials for crafting - things to increase ammo capacity, melee damage etc. can take a while to hunt or collect resources otherwise. I tended to scrap low value gear and sell high value gear.
There is a trophy for selling 100 trinkets at once so you might as well hold on to those but sell animal parts not needed for crafting - just keep pelts and leather. It is a bit glitchy so sell all the animal parts only and them when you have 100 or more, make sure you sell animal parts first, then revisit the store and sell all the trinkets (just press down on the d-pad to sell all at once) and the trophy should pop.
Once you have crafted everything - to their max, nothing needs to be kept anymore, Keep yellow/exotic items as they are most useful and can be upgraded too. I only sold duplicate yellows and 'cursed' ones too. I don't think I used any items that were not exotic through out.
You don't have a weight limit so no need to sell anything if you don't want.
Generally, there is no hard and fast rule - do what you want/need but its a good idea to upgrade all your gear along the bottom so you can carry more ammo, take and deal more damage...

Photo mode is excellent in this game but I haven't had a single 'like' for any of them. Now I'm not usually interested in all the social sharing stuff in games but when other people's photos of NPC norks are getting hundreds of 'likes' then it's quite disheartening.

Sorry for late reply. It was a bug. I did restart since I wasn’t far in, and everything was better the second time. It may have fixed itself with a reboot, who knows. Also I didn’t realize the structure at the time that it was easy to return.
I have to say, the level scaling is really nice, because otherwise I’d end up just naturally outlevelling everything, and robbing the transported goods is too easy if you outlevel them.
Finally made it pass the prologue and wow I thought there was alot to do in the starting area. Currently I am level 10ish a.d saving up my ability points for the train animal skill. Also just doing a few side quests while also hunting to get mats for crafting.

Looking forward to the Hidden Ones DLC tomorrow. I'm interested to see how it's going to play out. I know we're going to see Bayek in it again, which is cool but there's another character (won't mention because I don't want to spoil anything) who has some story threads that tie into AC 2 that still haven't been wrapped up. From the description pages for both expansions, I don't see the Pharaoh DLC covering that, so hopefully it'll happen in the first one.
I will eventually get the season pass but first I need to finish the game which is easier said then done cause I get distracted by everything there is to do. I am really enjoying this game alot in fact I think this has taken the crown from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag for my favorite Assassin's Creed.

I don't think I'll get the new dlc, I'm lvl 14 and still exploring Alexandria area. I span the map out and realize how huge the game is. I'm in for hours of fun, but by the time I finish I think I'll be ready to move on.
I finished the story and thought it was a bit of a mess to be honest with some awful writing but thankfully the game and the world itself was a hoot to play in and some of the side quests were much better than the main (I just did one where a bunch of kids were buzzing watching Bayek leap from various heights). I hated those naval parts, too, they were nowhere near as good as the ones in Black Flag.
(1) all the npc chatter is in a foreign language - presumably my Bayek understands them, why can’t I?
(2) the second I go swimming some random guy literally races over to me ranting (see point 1, I don’t know what they’re saying) and often block my view or run me over. I’ll be sneaking up on a bigger ship and some guy comes up screaming “hey you in the water take my ship”.... or I’ll be drawing my bow and aiming from in the water [wtf] and they’ll rush to rescue me by positioning themselves between me and my quarry - which actually gives it cover to get into melee with me. I’ve actually taken to getting on their boat, commandeering it to move it out of the way then getting back in the water.
@Mega-Gazz Do you have subtitles on? If you have subtitles on and set to a language you know it will be translated.
I never had that happened to me where people rush to help me. Are you wearing the default outfit? I have read that people react differently to the outfit you are wearing. I have yet to try this myself but just some thoughts.
@Elodin Yep I just didn't that to last night zoomed the map all the way out. I was amazed at all large the world was. Honestly I haven't seen a game world that large since WoW.

@Tasuki yea I have English subtitles on, with speaker names... but a lot of the random chatter is Greek to me... possibly literally? Important no s speak properly.
I’ve had the boat problem in at least two outfits, but I’m currently wearing the epic sekhmet one.
