Here's a gaming hot take. Ubisoft can shove their AC Shadows delay way up inside their silly French a***s

Shareholders deciding deciding release dates are the f***ing bane of gaming, and their shareholders are little scared c***s 😂

AC Valhalla made over a billion dollars, grow a set and release the damn game

I mean, we know the world at large hates them, but now you are making the people that buy your damn games hate you too. F***ing idiots 😂😂

@Ravix I feel I need a little more context. What’s up with the delays exactly?

@Yousef- they delayed AC Shadows because they are scared of more bad press affecting their share prices and don't want to tank the company if the game gets hate crimed.

There is no way they made a rush decision the week of Tokyo Game Show to both not attend it, and delay AC shadows based on the actual state of the game in development. It is 99% public relations and trying to avoid bad press from the Japanese because their share price cannot take any more negativity this year!

But i'm mainly annoyed because:

February is when KCDII comes out, and everyone has decided to rival the Feb date and gang up on it, boo 😭

Or, potentially because of this KCDII will now get delayed again to avoid being stuck in a month with 2 franchise titles for competition 😪

But there's no way I'm going to believe AC got delayed because the game just happened to not be in a good enough state the week of TGS after they have shown a billion trailers and gameplay deep dives already 😪

I'm mostly exaggerating for hot takes sake, but I do think it's a dumb move and blatant lies if they say it is to make the game better haha

@Ralizah I won’t fib, I take pride in the fact to this day, I still have no clue what the plot of forspoken is :’ D
And have zero clue how the plot went from being about an oppressed poor teenager in a rough neighborhood to getting harry pottered and isekaied into a square enix land.
You could not create a stronger whiplash even if you tried, the real tragedy is how such tonal clash was wasted on such an uncharasmatic snoozefest 🛌

Yeah I’m in a weird boat about this too cuz I don’t like two games in one month. A shame sparking zero and sonic x Shadow are both in October idk why I have to decide 😂 😂

AC Shadows is in trouble. I have played every mainline AC, and Platinumed them except for Mirage (Not gotten around to it)

The trailer for Shadows almost made my eyes roll out the back of my head. The cool thing about this franchise is you get to live a bit of historical fiction, I know they are games and they take alot of liberties but at they always felt somewhat authentic. It's time for Japan so let's put a black man in it who runs about battering the natives to death with a club, because there are so many Asian protagonists already in this franchise /sarcasm. Why not do an AC set in Africa? I would be down for that

Ubisoft are right to be worried, I do think this game is going to bomb. Valhalla was a bloated, boring mess, but at least they nailed the mood of being a viking. Here they don't even have that.

@Malaise that is an interesting take, and I do agree people have a bizarre latch mentality towards game characters, but the thing I don’t get isn’t the sheer investment of it, but how little some characters need to contribute to be seen as so noteworthy. It sometimes borderlines on participation awards, like you’ll get credited just for being there alone. 😆

The Day Before scammers are back trying to pretend they are actually developers again. It's not really that much of a hot take, but they definitely need to be put in a gulag.

@Yousef- they scam people on crowd funding sites, use that money to live a certain life, run a company like a forced labour sweatshop so they get all of the money themselves, then they make fake trailers to con more investors or get a publisher on board, and build hype with gamers (their last game was so hyped it was a top pre order on steam) they then delay the game, all the while the game that they are actually making is just full of stolen assets, and barely functional as a game. Then they say "oh no, we were too ambitious" and dissolve the company while refunding people for sales, not those who actually funded their scams. And then they wait and come and do it all over again.

It's basically so they can con people to pay their wages for x amount of years, spend it all on themselves whilst not really intending to ever make a game, whilst keeping some actual devs overworked, unpaid and under their thumb. There's provably other criminal stuff like threats or bribes and the like.

Guaranteed they make a fake trailer and people fall for it all over again. At the moment they are begging for money via crowdfunding as they will have spent most of the money they conned from people the last time. And gamers don't realise because they say "well they refunded for the game" but that is all part of it. It's the investors and crowd funders that pay them, the rest is all the smoke screen.

And a gulag, being a forced labour camp, seems just for that pair of c***s 🫡

Relating to food, I think chocolate ice cream tastes bad. I know it’s one of the most popular ice cream flavors in existence, but I always find that chocolate ice cream tastes weird and kinda gross, plus it actually has made my stomach hurt way more frequently than other flavors like vanilla. It’s weird, cuz for some reason I can tolerate a king-size bar of Hershey’s chocolate and eating a million pieces of Hershey’s Kisses and do not feel sick from it but somehow I feel sick after eating chocolate ice cream.

@Pastellioli that’s an interesting take there. I personally go back and forth on it and never found it consistent. It depends on the chocolate I suppose. Good Choccy is awesome, bad choccy makes me wanna Toss it in the trash.
Yup I’m not perceptible to motion sickness but only exception is coffeee in some cases and if I’m REALLY sleep deprived and need to drive and hit a ton of bumps in the road. Scary!

@Yousef- Google "The Day Before" there will still be the original trailers, I bet 🤥🤥 but there is also a bunch of people who have done investigations into them, and break down their lies and why the game was never going to be real. And low and behold, it released as a sham and was pulled within a few days, and then they dissolved the "company" and ran away to hide.
