Re: Horizon Forbidden West's PS5, PS4 Visual Issues a High Priority, Patch Incoming ASAP

@Medic_Alert I agree with you, though I don't think it was destined to be a PS4 game as the general flavour of the comments suggests PS4 users are having more issues. It's not what I thought it would be on ps5. I think it's something we're stuck with in general atm, the cross into this generation of consoles is more vague than it's ever been and that's probably been largely driven by the pandemic and how that's effected the industry top to bottom.

It's incredibly frustrating that we don't really have any true next gen games but I do understand the problems developers must be facing having to create games that are playable over both generations, to make them financially viable. It's a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't, damned if you do both...

I'm staying optimistic that a remake will happen. Easily one of the best ever playstation games, the first to utilise the dual shock 2 analogue functionality and in its own small way it was groundbreaking. Asobi and Sony would be foolish not to take their chance to revive it imo. The ps5 could do with more accessible games that show off the dual sense and Astro, whilst cute, is nowhere near as cute as a terminator monkey replete in shades and a leather jacket, or a James Bond monkey in a tux.

@Bleachedsmiles the mic thing is bothering me also, it feels like this wonderful untapped source of enriched online gaming that we'll never get back because of the toxicity that's put so many people off, coupled with the entrenched console gamer mentality of being alone for too long. Makes me sad as I genuinely want to play games like this with others on console and don't have the benefit of gamer friends IRL.

The only decent online community console gamers have fostered is in souls games and No Man's Sky I feel, because it's completely impersonal and largely anonymous and doesn't require you having to listen to someone telling you to kill yourself or an 11 year old squeaker shredding your eardrums or that COD 'OG' who thinks they can solo win every FPS game

Re: Hell Let Loose

@HuJack007 It is, and imo its Garbage even free. You spawn, you run, you run, you run, you hit some action, no one is on voice chat, maybe make a kill or two, people running around not seeing enemy team, no one on voice chat, calling out on voice chat nobody listens, someone picks you off and you die, you respawn, you run, you run etc.

I can see how this maybe works better on PC where the general community is way more suited to online gaming that requires you to actually talk to people and cooperate with strangers. Your average console gamer (ps community the worst by far) just wanna run and gun, probably don't have a headset or if they do it's on mute because toxicity from <insert battle royale game here>

This would matter less if it didn't take five whole minutes to get to where anything is going on after spawning. Absolute waste of time unless you have enough buddies that actually care about playing it properly to squad up with

@Spiders I have certainly been lucky getting a PS5 launch day and having the funds to get one, which you're correct has enabled access to more ps plus games, however I often have to tell myself I was investing in the future, to me PS5 doesn't have much going for it games wise and the exclusives launched through plus are not my thing. I'm pretty sure anyone else who's got one would agree, there's not been much come out you can't also get previous generation and when we're talking plus games that are PS5 only they've been pretty crap. I'm not including the collection obviously those were good games offered as bait to get people upgrading hardware.

And yet... They're all PS4 games. All the 'good' plus games I have are PS4 games. I paid £70 for AC Valhalla PS5 and was bored after 15 hours playtime. I pay £50 per year for plus and get enough games on balance to keep me occupied. £50 isn't even a deal it's just the standard annual subscription amount. That's £4.66 a month, the price of a sandwich and a coke. A month.

If you buy monthly it's £6.99, and I guess if you're clever you'll be subbing to pick up games you want and dropping the sub again, but that's a faff, and why would you then come on here to say you were dropping your sub again as you clearly intended to any way.
I genuinely believe that over a year you get your money's worth, and was only trying to point this out to anyone that might regret binning off plus when something gravy inevitably drops in the coming months. Provided you have a fairly eclectic taste of course, it's definitely no good if you only like a couple certain genres.

Long time lurker, first time commenting here.

IMO anyone saying they're going to delete PS plus after a couple months of less than amazing games is overreacting. It's not really that expensive a subscription if you buy annually and I've always looked at it that way; in one calendar year you will get your money's worth in free games without a doubt unless you're super niche in what you play. I have around 10 games in my library from the last couple years I would've bought but got from plus, total value definitely more than paying the sub unless I bought hard copies 2nd hand, which I won't because of convenience.

Hold your nerve. Buy annually and save time, money and stress on the endless cycle of dropping your subscription and then signing up again when games you like come out in any given month
