This is why Sony is catering to the western market with other japanese publishers be it indie or whatever else. The console market just isn't a place for Japan, no matter how you look at it. Japan is basically Nintendonized.
If Crytek is losing money due to Ryse , that's their own fault and to be honest, I really don't care much for the crysis series. Pretty graphics, very average gameplay, this really isn't a development company I would miss. o.O
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the first crysis until later in the game where the game just dropped off into a pile of garbage, but the beginning to mid-game was pretty cool, the rest of the series I didn't like as it sucked. I see crytek mainly a graphics focused company, not so much gameplay standards as it's average at best, but graphics. That's fine, but they should be doing more then just graphics since they already have that part covered in a way.
nah, the PS4 pricetag was nice to have, but I know Sony and I like their exclusives much better as well as the developers in there. I mean, come on, The last of us, Uncharted, LBP, GT, and now Drive Club, plus more. I've always liked Sony, I liked the PS3, but not nearly as much as the PS2, but I like the PS4 just as much as the PS2. kind of weird but yeah.
I do think Shawn Layden is a good speaker, the problem here is what he was speaking about. All he needs first is to announce a big game and that will be the start of good things for him.
I think some people here forgot about how it was when jack tretton was speaking before he got popular, it was a boring disaster and he really didn't hit the popularity as much until later on. So basically, what they need to set up for Shawn Layden is for him to announce a few AWESOME! games for the PS4. They should have had him do that with LBP3 and Uncharted 4. Ditching E3 though would be a bad one, more and more people are tuning into E3 events that are showing up everywhere. To ditch the E3 stage show would be very bad. While Sony has had some downer E3 conferences, this one was far from the worst one, they've had quite a few awesome ones as well as mediocre compared to the bad ones which there aren't many of those.
There is no loss of sales in this case, you can't lose a sale that is not their and as for profit they aren't losing money in the playstation branch so this is all bunk to begin with. I think they need to sit this guy down and have a good long chat with him because it's people like this that will drag a company down and we certainly don't need another Howard stringer.
I noticed on a picture that you can see enemies through walls now. ugh Can developers please stop doing this crap. Farcry 3 and now 4 is going to have it, BF has close to some sort of it with doritos, I mean games are getting flooded with it. Hopefully this game doesn't disappoint and hopefully it isn't like MGS4 with to much video vs gameplay.
you guys and your backlogs o.O The reality of backlogs is this....You aren't going to play those games unless you are home sick or something, but even after that you will be done with them. Just let go of the backlogs. I buy a game, play it, beat it, get a new one. LOL I never buy a game, not play it, put it in a backlog and walk away. Now that's madness.
I'm not really much for Handhelds and if I was going to get a handheld it would be one from Nintendo, but even that I'm not getting. Handhelds for me end up collecting dust, I would much rather play a home console on a big TV.
I think Nintendo has got the handheld market covered and it's going to be pretty hard even for Sony to top Nintendo's handheld market. As well as devices like Tablets and stuff like that, I really don't see a need for me to get a Vita, even a 3DS. Just not a fan, but over in Japan, they really seem to enjoy those handheld games. I hope this is the last of the handheld market for Sony, sometimes it's best just to let it go. Support what you have for a handheld but don't try to make a new one.
@Gamer83
You can agree with him all you want, but for people that think that huge WOW factor is going to hit, it's not nor will it ever hit during the first year of any console, it didn't even hit Microsoft conference. For you to like MS's E3 showing is clearly in the fact that you do favor MS more than Sony, that's fine. For me, I favor Sony over MS, but to say MS had a better showing is pretty average at best along with Sony and Nintendo, and that would be coming from a none biased standpoint. For a biased standpoint I would say Sony had a slightly better showing.
To really break it down, this years E3 will easily be forgotten for all companies, Sony, MS, and Nintendo. Even the Battlefield game sucks. o.O ugh. At least we are getting some 3rd party games this year that are good, other then that, this year is pretty damn meh, for everything including PC.
@Sanquine That's what I hear, mainly from you, but that's what I hear. o.O There really isn't any point to be disappointed with a company's E3 while Praising others that were clearly underwhelming. Also, your previous comment says otherwise. sour grapes man, keep eating those. There was nothing wrong with Sony's E3 other then Shawn Layden putting people to sleep.
@Sanquine Sour grapes, that's all. It's pretty clear you are anti-Sony in this regard to your comment. nothing more then sour grapes. eeeeesh! and you didn't even try to hide it. o.O
A new Zelda that gave me the feel of Zelda Ocarina of time is a E3 winner in my book. I'm am very pro playstation, but Zelda is one of my most favorite games out there when made right.
It's only going to get better for the PS4. Sony is still going to announce new games at gamescom & TGS. I'm sure those will provide some good surprises. Not only that, this is the first year and Sony is clearly still warming up, they haven't even gone full throttle yet. O.O
I want to play this game now. This really sucks because I have to wait till July 17 to play the game. Then, after all that I have to wait again to buy the game. I already know I'm going to be all over this game.
@get2sammyb I really think the hype when this game was first announced was one of three things. 1. The name itself was cool so the hype was raised. 2. while it wasn't exclusive just the Xbox it wasn't on the PS4. 3. The lead developers were from infinity ward.
This is the only Mech based game that I've seen completely hyped beyond oblivion. I knew it would die out pretty fast, considering I have yet to see Mech based games be so popular.
Mine haven't wore like others have and I've been playing the hell out of my PS4. I am wondering if some people are eating while playing in which any other type of residue can cause problems on a controller. I never eat while playing so I have no greasy fingers or anything like that. Both of my controllers are fine.
ugh, now that is just ridiculous. I understand that people have their preferences but I can clearly see the biased people in this section shrugging off Sony as if nothing good came out of their show. Don't get me wrong from my previous post as I said, there were no WOW moments but neither MS or Nintendo had those. If people are going to tell me that Sony showed nothing good or very few but MS was better, I really don't see it. If anyone needed a huge boost it was MS and they didn't get it. While they did show games, they really needed something to show off the Xbox One and nothing in there happened. Crackdown and fable? meh
Is the first year of consoles on E3 any good? I will wait till next year because I didn't expect any big WOW moments for anyone at E3 besides Nintendo showing Zelda which I've been waiting a long time for that style of Zelda game. Other then that, there was no WOW factor at all for Sony this year, not even one for Microsoft. I'm pretty sure the WOWing will start next year for Sony.
I thought the graphics in it were really good. The fighting mechanics when doing those pit fights were awesome. depending on the price, I would probably play it all over again, I heard the city was more lively on the PC version compared to the PS3. Although, I would much rather have a new Sleeping Dogs game than a remake.
Are they even going to come out with this game on the PS4 or are they going to just sit there and talk about it. So far, these developers seem like they are just talking about it and have no plans of releasing it. All they are doing is talk, talk, talk, talk....
hehe, some people just can't handle the fact that a game gets a good review. For me, this isn't my type of game, but there are a lot of people that like these artsy fartsy type of games. I never liked Flow, Flower, or even Journey, so I know I probably wouldn't "take" to this title. Good review though and it's awesome how much support Sony is giving Indie developers.
The PS4 is just the better system, with games coming out such as The Order: 1886, LBP3, UC4, Planetside 2, Driveclub, Bloodborne, and whatever else, Those are the games I want. Also, the 3rd party games are going to be better on the PS4 anyway, maybe not by much but still noticeable in terms of resolution and stuff like that.
The only other game that isn't on the PS4 that I'm really excited about is ZELDA on the WiiU, that looks AMAZING.
I don't even want to be reminded of this years E3 other then LBP3 and other games. Everytime I remember E3 2014, I will remember the conference that put me to sleep thanks to Shawn layden. o.O LOL
I never really got into the game. A lot of people liked it, but I didn't care much for it so I never finished it. I ended up trading it off. LOL It is a great looking game, but I didn't care much for it.
Unions use to be good and were their to help the people, it's changed since when the Unions have first started. Now a union is all about money and they have stupid rules and quite frankly they want you to break them that way they get more money out of you. It's a horrible organization now and it's been getting worse. It will collapse eventually. Nothing more then a money organization now compared to what they use to stand for.
I really like how one of those indie games was ready during the E3 show, that was a great touch. LBP3 has me excited, I love the Little Big Planet games, the creativity that people have in creating levels and games are AMAZING!
As for Zelda, Now I'm going to have to buy a WiiU just for Zelda.
For Square/Enix it would take years, any other developer could whip up a port in no time. I swear that S/E are only around now to troll gamers when it comes to RPG's. Their other games I have a blast playing, but for RPG's, they have lost the crown for quite a few years now. lol
Mortal Kombat does look really good though. I mean, honestly, It's been over 10 years since I was in O.O about a fighter game, MK9 was pretty meh. So far MK X looks really good.
You know, I think the reason this was all mediocre was also how Sony's Press conference was pieced together. I mean, last years was much better because they showed game after game after game. This year it seemed like they were just going through the motions to get it done and out of the way.
For me, while I really like all the games I've seen on it, This years E3 for Sony didn't have that big bang factor I was hoping for. If the beta is exclusive, it's not really a beta but a demo. I never understood why developers keep on calling these betas when they are demos, there really isn't much more to it then that. If the beta isn't coming to the PS4, then it's a demo, not a beta. For developers that don't know this, BETA means trial, trials for whatever they are doing so they can fix the servers, and more bugs which means a much more polished game.
Anyway, I really don't see what's so great about this game as I never really heard of it until just now. hmmmmm
I think they are going to show off the last guardian at this years E3, just watch. Sony is going to pull the bigger guns out to get more PS4 sales. I just don't know where this game is going though, is it going to be an RPG (which is what I would think), is it going to be action/adventure, or it could go the way of heavy rain, I don't know though. I'm quite worried about this game since I have no clue on the direction. If it's going the RPG route, I may get it, if not, I may take this game off my watch list.
