Re: This Android App Will Transform Your PS5, PS4 Remote Play Experience

@KaijuKaiser hey sorry about the delay. Highly recommend. I have two kids and especially in that sleepy stage of newborns when they’re on your chest and you’re in the bed or on the couch it’s great for indie games. I’ve played something as intense as Wo Long on it recently and beat bosses! That internet connection sounds spot on with the numbers I pull too so you should be good.

For me it’s all about a poorly received but excellent little gem called Wanted Dead. I think knowing how to properly play the game goes a long way for it, and accepting that it’s Japanese style storytelling is a mix of 80s action movies and Japanese humor. I’m loving.
I’ll also continue Wo Long as I’m almost at the most infamous boss in the game and about to judge him for myself.

Some Hog Leg if I have time too. 12 hours in and I’m still waiting for the story to really pick up.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty?

@The_Pixel_King I will say be patient with it. I loved all the Souls and Nioh games, and I had written this one off as not for me after becoming incredibly frustrated by the beta and the boss at the end of the first demo level. However, I can safely say something clicked and it's as enjoyable as Sekiro with the parry system. Give it a shot!

@Gilvin I second what @KaijuKaiser said. I have a two year old and a 10 month old, and I've managed to beat multiple soulslikes having them. I made it through the demo as well, it just took me several days as opposed to an evening because of my children. However, since you can pause this, you can also find those quiet moments, put the PS5 in rest mode, and suspend a level until later. It might take awhile but you will there! I am planning on it while my son sleeps on my chest with the backbone controller!

Re: Octopath Traveller 2 Remains Simply Stunning in HD-2D Gameplay

@UltimateOtaku91 just wanted to let you know as someone who has been playing Triangle Strategy for about 25-30 hours now it’s pretty on par with OCTOPATH Traveler for graphical fidelity. Both were made in the HD 2D style. I think both are great looking and offer different gameplay and storylines. So if you like OCTOPATH you may like Triangle as well. There is a demo on switch to try and that’s what sold me on it!

Re: Resident Evil 4, Street Fighter 6 the Big Winners from State of Play

I know trailers are a great way to gauge interest but I also know that for me if I see something I’m interested in, I tend to go on media blackout as much as possible. I was doing that for suicide squad until I heard the reactions, but had to then check it out myself to see because it sounds like it might be a stinker.

Both the children are sick, so when I have time it’ll be starting Hogwarts Legacy

I checked out the Humanity demo and I’m a sucker for puzzle style games so this is my jam. That music too.

Lastly, I hope to play through Bright Memory Infinite. Feels like a solid shooter even if it’s only two hours or so in length.

Re: PS Plus Premium Adds Two-Hour Tactics Ogre Game Trial

@Bentleyma for the most part those demos are all Square Enix games that I think they wanted to try and drive sales with: OCTOPATH, Valkyrie, diofield, Triangle Strategy, etc. Tactics has more of a legacy so I guess I’m not surprised they don’t do it with a title like that, similar to FF7 Remake.

Wrapping up Evil West this weekend. What a charming old school game that deserves more support.

Also diving into Chained Echoes some more. Hard to believe one person made it.

If time I’m tempted to get Midnight Suns but haven’t taken the plunge. So more likely I’ll wrap up Bayonetta 2 or work on more Weird West.

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - God of War Ragnarok

ErrantRob

While it didn’t blow me away like Elden Ring and I’ve games over 30 years, I see someone like my sister who is coming from the Switch, from not playing a game since PS1 days with me, playing Ragnarok, and she is blown away. In that perspective this game is mind blowing to those with fresh eyes, and easily is the best example this year of new games and narrative done right.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 456

Working on Callisto Protocol and not getting the hate. It does ask you to play a very specific way and doesn’t seem to want to give you the power Isaac has in dead space. I’ll be curious if gamers reject DS in January if it does similar things.

Otherwise grinding out Ragnarok side content as best I can without getting burned out.

Lastly with time maybe I’ll try the Forspoken demo again. Combat seemed to conflict with the DMC style scoring system, not being frenetic and fast enough to score B or higher in early encounters. Might be me playing poorly though.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 455

Wrapping up Ragnarok. Great combat with a great beginning and end from what I can tell. It’s really the middle, second act, that is a slog starting with a yak.

Beyond that maybe more Ragnarok in Valkyrie Elysium and picked up Callisto Protocol. Saw so much negativity over it this weekend in hoping it doesn’t spoil what I’m sure I will enjoy.

If time I’ll squeeze in Vampire Survivors and some GUN GRAVE.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 454

Well Ragnarok is the obvious answer even though I find it’s not the quality 2018 was. I dipped back into Valkyrie Elysium and that Ragnarok story doesn’t get in the way of letting me actually play.

Otherwise the excellent Inscryption, which has me hooked on what always might happen next. On Switch Bayo 2, and some GP games before I let the sub expire ( too much to play too little time to play it all).

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 452

Snagged the platinum in Gotham Knights so it’s off to stave off Ragnarok in both God of War and Valkyrie Elysium for me. Yup two Nordic adventures side by side.

I’ll squeeze in some Shatter Remastered too along with Bayo 2 and Triangle Strategy where I can.

I had started Mafia Remastered on the higher PS Tier but won’t finish it before it leaves so I’ll wait for a sale to do so.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 451

This weekend is all about wrapping up Gotham Knights, and playing through Shattered. Then cleaning up Valkyrie Elysium so I can debate whether or not to rush out and get Ragnarok. I want to be hyped for it, but I know it’s just more God of War.

Switch I need to get Bayonetta 2 done so I can enjoy 3, and then slowly crawl through Triangle Strategy.

Last but not least I’ll find some GamePass games to fiddle with and in shamefully playing Marvel Snap on my phone. I love card games. I’m a simple man.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 450

Gotham Knights for me. It’s fantastic, but I also didn’t expect Arkham. I also love the Bats universe so my bias is real.

In between Gotham I’ll be finishing up runs in Valkyrie Elysium and restarted slay the spire on PS5 instead of Switch this time. I May even dip back into Jack Move if time allows.

Switch is Bayonetta weekend. Playing through 2 and then opening 3. Triangle Strategy will still get some love too.
