@Ryno Black people aren't saying other lives don't matter. We're just trying to get people to see that we matter too. It's not a statement of exclusion, but one of focus. There are Countless times when people call the cops for no reason, or that we just get treated differently as a whole. Theres even a video of a woman threatening to call the police and tell them that "there's a black guy threatening my life" when all he did was tell her to put a leash on her dog...or other instances when Blacks get blocked from entering their houses because "they can't possibly live in a nice area". Hell, in high school, my girlfriend and I broke up because her mom was tripping out that she was dating a black guy, and kept bothering her about it. Of course All lives matter. We aren't saying otherwise, but there's no denying blacks get treated like crap because of how we're viewd, or simply just for being black. I've even had Police Officers straight up admit to me that they're often called to check out "suspicious African American Men". We just want it to stop, man.
@thefirst Not to detract from the tragedy of the killing of that little girl, but I feel like you're missing the point. The riots aren't just about the killing of George Floyd, it's about the treatment of black people in America as a whole. His death was the tipping point that set off years of pent up aggravation and aggression towards systematic racism. History has proven time and time again, if group A constantly pushes group B, group B will grow tired of it all and fight back.
@DerMeister SFV does a good job at easing players in. Capcom's main focus was to build a game around people wanting to get into the scene, not to mention a couple of websites you can learn from as well. All it really takes is dedication and practice. Anyone can do it.
I'm glad that you wrote this. Westcoast Warzone was a pleasure to watch overall, but that SFV tournament, top 8 especially, was just pure glorious. Both PR Rog and Chris T put on a great show. When Rog lost to Christ T the first time, you could tell he was hungry for that run back. Dude was determined to get back to him lol. The commentary was also amazing. Both commentators were hilarious and did their jobs well. It's hype moments like that that makes me proud to be apart of the fgc. Never dull moment when the Major tournaments are happening.
@Bliquid There are even some JoJo references inside King of the Fighters, as well. It's amazing how influential this anime is, and I never realized it until I started watching/reading it myself. In fact, Rose from Street Fighter was entirely based off of Mary. As well as Benimaru's appearance being inspired by Polnareff.
@Grawlog I can't judge for myself since I haven't played PT yet, unfortunately. I will say this, though: I'm glad an arena fighter is getting so much attention, from both the competitive scene, and the casual crowd. I love 2d fighters but Pokken is definitely a breath of fresh air.
@Grawlog From a gameplay standpoint, SFV is going to be very tough to top. I really want to play Pokken, though. Been looking at Pokken videos a lot, Lately.
On another note, I really don't have the time to play Cyber Sleuth, but I'm glad it's doing well.
I'm so excited for this game. I'm literally counting down the days until I get it.
@rjejr One Piece is awesome, man. If you ever want to get into it, I suggest reading the Manga instead, anyway. The pacing for the anime is kind of a let down, and will take you ages to get through. You can get pretty far by reading the Manga. You'd be surprised how quickly the story goes. Only a suggestion though. Nice avatar by the way. I love Baloo.
@sub12 Nah, I'm looking forward to KOF 14 myself. The game seems to be shaping up pretty nicely, gameplay wise. Although I was always kind of bad at SNK games, with Garou: Mark of the Wolves being the only exception.
@Bigdoggy Ryu, Ken, Chun Li and Akuma were still there, but other than those 4 the cast was completely new and different. It was like they were guest characters in a completely new series. Blanka, Vega, Bison, Balrog, Cammy, and the rest of the Street Fighter 2 characters weren't in the game.
And I was talking about the hypothetical new game they make, would be good, not Street Fighter. Don't know what to tell you about the moves though. Pretty much every fighting game has characters that keep their signature moves throughout every new game; what makes fighting games new and fresh would be the different mechanics they add to whole system, for example: Focus attack in SF4, V trigger in SF5, and the new specials in Tekken 7.
@Bigdoggy Lol that would certainly be interesting. Although last time Capcom did that (Street Fighter III) things went South so hard. For the most part, people would love to have their favorite characters in Street Fighter. The characters are Iconic and nobody would want to see all of the excluded like that. 4 or 5 new characters each installment would be enough, in my opinion. However, A new fighting game from Capcom would be a much better bet, period. That way, they wouldn't have to piss a lot of people off by by removing characters and leaving SF alone, and giving everyone else who wants something new a breath of fresh air. When it comes to fighting games, people know Capcom would do a good job, gameplay wise, so it would pretty much work out for everyone.
@ShoryukenKid I understand what you're saying completely. I spent hours upon hours in the training room practicing my 1 frame links, I did those without plinking (a technique pretty much everyone used to make the combos easier). 3rd strike was the same for me. People didn't believe me when I told them I played on a d-pad instead of an arcade stick, lol. I admit, seeing all of that pay off was very satisfying. I'm not saying I don't miss that, but I'm glad with the direction SFV is taking.
The combos may not be tough to pull off anymore, but the matter of getting to pull those combos off in a match where you could get punished super hard (thanks to the crush counter mechanic) in the first place, is equally satisfying to me. That's just my opinion though, but I can understand how you feel. Anyway, add me. My ID is FidoChinx on PS4. We could run some casual matches sometime, if you want.
@bigdoggy Do you mean new moves for the characters or just new characters completely?
I remember playing Skyrim on the PS3 and I decided to just journey ahead instead of fast traveling. The result: Me running across, just about, the entire map, trying to get away from a dragon who would not leave me alone. That will be one of the most memorable moments to me in gaming just because of how epic (and kind of scary) that chase was. However, I know the PS3 version had a plethora of bugs and glitches, so that might have been one of them. Quick traveling is convenient and wastes a lot less time, but going on an adventure is just pure fun and random.
@ShoryukenKid Actually, pros have been praising the game for the focus on its neutral game and simple play style. The majority of them, anyway. Also, old school pros seem to have been coming back in to the scene because it reminds them of the other classic SF titles. Combos were always there in Street Fighter, but SF4 took them to a whole new level, which wasn't really the norm.
SFIV was a good game, and I enjoyed it a lot, but it was way too vortex heavy (assuming you know what this means.) I like V better for the simple fact that it's not riddled with option selects, not yet at least.
Third Strike was fun though; a classic game. I can't wait for Alex to get in.
The lack of single player doesn't bother me at all. Ever since Street Fighter 2, I have been playing fighting games against other people. As long as the thing that matters most - which is the gameplay - is there, everything else can take a back seat. Give me practice mode, ranked, and player matches and I'll be fine. Trust me, once you start getting better at the game, you'll see where the true meat of these games lie.
There was an interview with the producer of Street fighter saying he wants SFV to be the "League of Legends" of fighting games; with continuous support. Free characters are coming every month, along with future updates. So as far as content goes, it's coming. 16 characters is actually a great start. It's a lot easier to balance these games. Having way too many at start just makes it a lot harder to keep the cheap stuff out.
Honestly, I get it. From a different point of view, I can see why some of you are upset with the lack of single player, but maybe you should dive in to the multiplayer. See first hand why Street Fighter is not only the most famous, but most influential fighting game of all time. I hear Capcom did a good job letting newcomers and casuals see how fun the competitive scene really is.
As for the Capcom Pro Tour, I can't wait to see all of the hype tournament moments. I'm really looking forward to it.

Re: Try Tense PS4 Action Title Nioh Later This Month
This looks more like Ninja Gaiden meets Onimisha, to me. Wasn't excited for this before, but my interest has raised considerably.

Re: Street Fighter V Seems to Have Flopped Pretty Freakin' Hard
I'm more of an online player, but I would honestly love to have a world tour mode. Hopefully they add it in the future.
