@Ken_Kaniff That's their problem, not Sony's. No one told them to buy into rumors. This is why consumers should ignore rumors and wait for Sony to confirm what is true and false. If anything, this builds up anticipation either way, so it isn't hurting them. If anything, it keeps the interest going.

@Neolit Why does it matter whether its sales come from PS4 owners or new comers? If it sells in the double digits, that's a system seller. Also, it would sell just as well if it hits PS5. Lol. There are many people out there who buy consoles very late in the gen, and even buy them again if there's another port. Let's not pretend they don't exist. ;P

@Neolit The first game sold 17 million between PS3 and PS4. How is it not a system seller? If it gets ported to PS5, it certainly will sell more PS5 consoles.

@Porco You're probably right, and I'd leave too if this is the actual plan. Bringing your heavy hitters to PC is a big mistake, and will likely affect sales if those PS4 owners(many who probably have PCs) believe other games will be ported as well. If it does happen, then I see this Jim Ryan regime hurting the brand.

@Ken_Kaniff If you're excited, then what's the problem? Lol. I highly doubt Sony is going to go through Wired again for a reveal. Likely it will be something different. What that is, who knows, but I'm not going to speculate too much on that. So what if they want to save some money. As long as they do something that will keep people on the edge of their seats/couches, it shouldn't matter. If the articles bother you, you do know you're within your rights to just simply overlook them, so I don't know why you're even complaining. Perhaps people may be build their selves up a bit, but that's their problem, and not ours. Can't control how people react to news.

As for your last sentence, well...that's simply your opinion and you're entitled to it, but I simply disagree. With a new console, they're going to want to pull all the stops to make sure everyone knows about it, so it's fair to expect there will be a proper stage conference for the PS5. It's okay to reserve judgement, but I don't feel it's good too worry so much either. Regardless, I think we both have our own views, so I'll just leave it at that. I do appreciate the civil conversation.

@Ken_Kaniff Perhaps maybe you should? Lol. People have a right to be excited. It isn't killing anybody, and I'm sure you'll live through it. This is a normal thing that happens every time a new console is close to being revealed. It's not going to change, so you might as well keep your peace. Telling others to chill out isn't going to alter the outcome.

@Shirayuki Not sure if it's possible, but if they found a way to make it compatible with PS3, PS2 and PSOne, I'd be 100% on board(not that I'm not already). I've enjoyed PS1 and PS2 days. It would make things a lot more convenient.

@TheBuzz The Pro doesn't seem to have that issue, at least not mine. My original didn''t have any problem for the first two years, but then it started acting like a 747 over time.

@necondaa I've always waited a year before buying a new console in a new generation, but this will be my first time breaking that tradition. I like what I hear and read about the PS5.

@necondaa Some tend to reach for something that's not even there. I see it as smart to keep things under wraps for a big reveal. Throwing information away before a reveal takes away from the excitement. I don't agree with everything Sony does, but they certainly are smart to wait until the right time to spill the beans.

@carlos82 I don't like waiting either. Most sources point to b/c with PS4, but who knows for sure. I'd imagine it's likely true especially with Xbox One having it( not perfect, but has it nonetheless). I mean if they really want to 1-up MS, they should find a way to get PS3 compatibility. Though I can't see them going as far as PS2 and PS1.

@Marios-love-child It may be best to wait to see how it peforms before assuming it will only be slightly faster and have visuals no different than PS4. If I had to take a good guess here, you're not likely to be right.

@Flaming_Kaiser Well, there's a demand for retro gaming, but I highly doubt it outweighs modern gaming and the future of gaming. Remakes and remasters I think are bigger in demand because it usually brings either something new to the table or improves on the originals.

@hotukdeals Yep. Despite the fact it can be quite a handful to have so many consoles on hand, you can always make it work.

@carlos82 I'm well aware of what Nintendo and Microsoft have been doing. Lol. They do it if they feel it's in their best interest. I also never said there was no demand for retro gaming either, so I'm not sure why you think I was disregarding it? The only point I made is that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are more invested in the future for hardware and software than retro, which I'd imagine is obvious. Despite that, they'll always give us the option for retro gaming if they feel it makes business sense.

@TheArt There's a reason no one is agreeing with you(looking at your thumbs down there). No one forced anyone's opinion on him from the start. If you know how a comment section works, then you'd notice that we all tend to disagree and that's why we reply(which is there for a reason). He simply disregarded a differing opinion because it didn't fit his and decided to block(which reflected that quite well). In the real world, that is quite immature. From what I read from you, you are obviously white knighting(possibly an alt) and aren't doing yourself any favors. I have every right to disagree with him, just as you have that right too. The only difference is that I kept it respectful as possible while he decided to insult someone he doesn't know because he didn't like what they had to say. Good try though?

@Averagewriter @Averagewriter Again, it's not Sony, Nintendo's or Microsoft's jobs to deal with those issues. Their jobs are to move forward and gives us the future.

@Averagewriter As do I. I started with the Atari 2600 before moving on to NES, SNES, PlayStation, N64, Gamecube, PS2, PS3, 360...well you get the point. As much as I appreciate the past, I don't expect any of these console makers to bring me full b/c to play every game in my back catalog. I would be a nice convenience, but that's our own problems to resolve. Not everyone who loves a more powerful console is always bragging about which is better except extremists, or would I call them, fanboys. I don't fault Sony or Microsoft for doing so because it's competition and it's their job to talk up their products. Plus, more power doesn't always mean more graphics. More horsepower also brings more gameplay possibilities that wasn't possible in previous generations. That's what I look forward to the most. Personally speaking, I do love a how far we progress with visual display, but that's just icing on the cake in most cases.

@Averagewriter You're asking for too much. If you have those consoles, then use them. You can always switch them out when you feel the itch to play old school games. What you're asking for would be too expensive and doesn't make sense from a business standpoint. If you don't care about specs, then I guess you don't want to play games, because every console has those. All in all I get that it's hard having every console you own hooked to a TV can be a pain, but there is no real quick fix to these problems. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo aren't obligated to give what you want or any of us. They're focusing on the future, not the past.

@Sam-Bridges If Sony is looking to get PS4 owners to move over to PS5 quickly as possible...it won't be more than the $399-$499 price tag. I think they learned their lesson with PS3.

@Averagewriter In other words...you're stuck in the past. You also have high expectations if you think the console will be B/C with PS3, PS2 and PS1 as well.

@KingSimba I don't see how they are the same. That's like saying every pizza looks the same. The point of those games is to be realistic, yes, but they aren't the same in all regards as they have different environments, timelines, etc. Even their art style isn't the same. Might as well call every Mario, Pokemon and Zelda game the same. My point is maybe it's better that you look at each game at what it offers and less on how you think they all look the same. Personally speaking, I don't care how a game looks whether realistic, cartoony, water colored, cel shade. If it has great gameplay, tells good story and keeps me immersed, that's all that matters. Not trying to crap on your opinion mind you. I just feel you're over judging games for the wrong reasons.

@KingSimba Those "realistic" games have color too. Lol. Unless you mean overly, exaggerated color style of games, then sure. Ape Escape would be a perfect fit along with Jak and Sly. I'd like to see a Skyblazer remaster/remake. I'd be surprised if anyone remembers that game back in the 90's.

@AdamNovice Ahh. Well, Socom makes perfect sense porting to PC too with cross-play enabled. I can see a Socom game being successful with the right developer on board. GG is the ideal fit.

@TurboTom Bro, the specs that are mentioned in articles are rumors, and haven't been confirmed to be true. No one knows what the actual specs are until Sony reveals them. There's no reason to be a negative Nancy at this point. My advice would be to stop reading rumors and just wait until it's confirmed. That way, you'll at least be more enthusiastic. Or you know...find other things to do to pass the time. If power is the only thing that matters to you between both consoles, then perhaps PC gaming would be better for you.

@Rob_230 Doubt Nintendo is going to do any of that. In all honesty, it would be overshadowed with PS5 and Series X out during that period. Perhaps after the dust clears a little.

@3Above I like the idea of BluePoint. They are already talented in remaking classics. With how long they've been working with Sony, it seems like a great match. If they do by chance acquire them, I hope they also take a chance on making their own original projects. Sony can surely hire plenty of talent to make that happen.

@3Above More than likely they already have one working on another Uncharted game despite not confirming it. Can't see Sony letting a money maker take a backseat. I'd imagine they'll acquire another studio to increase their 1st party output.

@3Above Well The Show is their bread and butter, so of course. They do make other games on occasion, but I think that'll be less likely now with The Show going to other platforms. Sony will probably hire more staff to take on porting. Either way, it's more money for Sony and MLB.

@3Above They didn't lose San Diego Studios. Lol. They are still a Sony first party studio. Only difference is, that they'll be developing for other platforms in regards to MLB The Show. Any other non-baseball projects will be PlayStation Exclusives. Not sure why you thought they lost them. O_o

@Porco I suspect they probably know that most of the published reviews will be lower than they hoped, and pushed back the embargo in hopes of getting some quick sales before the scores pop up. Who knows for sure, but it seems a bit sketchy to me. I hope I'm wrong and the rating score is above average. It won't stop the diehards from buying anyway and those who backed it.

@carlos82 I get being a huge fan of a franchise and all, but $60 is a bit much of a gamble regardless of the fact. Just my opinion there as I'm aware people will spend their money however they want. I honestly couldn't do it without some reassurance.

@BearsEatBeets Agreed. Plus it would drive the price up for the console, let alone just buying one separately would be more than the $50-$60 price tag for a DS4 to begin with. Longer battery life is more important.
