Re: Uncharted 4 Heading to PC, Investor Presentation Claims

@Chief_Forasteiro Doubtful that world would happen anyway. People like options. So as long as that's a norm(which isn't likely to change), consoles and PCs will coexist as they do now. Not to nitpick, but you did just said you are afraid to live in a world where only PC has AAA games. That is the definition of pretty much being afraid of change, but we can certainly agree to disagree on that.

Re: EA Sports Acquires Super Mega Baseball Developer

@Jeevz Mobile and arcade style games I would put as an exception since they aren't going to cause any issue with a mainline game such as The Show. Just as Madden isn't going to be affected either. As far as a big budget game like The Show or Madden, it's obvious that MLB and NFL have chosen their partners, and will remain so as long as the games are profitable.

@Floki Yes, they do indeed care about relationships, lol. That's why they get into agreements with business partners to begin with. That's just a foolish statement in of itself. There's a reason MLB wanted it to be on many platforms, because MLB likes the idea of having to work with one company rather than give out licenses to every developer and Sony was the simple choice. There's also a reason Topps has the rights to logos and teams names with their baseball cards and no one else is able to. It's unlikely EA will ever bother to try anyway since they've been out of the game for over 15 years now and would simply not put in the time to develop a decent engine. Having said that, I blame them for the whole mess when they decided to take the exclusive NFL license, so it is what it is.

Re: EA Sports Acquires Super Mega Baseball Developer

@Floki Not likely to happen considering Sony has just signed a multi-year deal already. Plus they've had a long relationship with MLB since EA has bowed out. As long as the games make money, MLB and Sony will just continue extending their deal. EA is likely aware of this and is just looking to make a baseball game that isn't related to MLB.

Re: Future Bethesda Games Will Ship 'Where Game Pass Exists'

@Dezzy70 Except Insomniac's portfolio is based mostly around IP's that Sony owned, so they didn't take much away compared to what MS took in Bethesda, such as a large handful of developing studios along the way. Sony never has went to that degree in acquisitions so it's not the same. Naughty Dog didn't really have properties that were a big loss at the time they were acquired back in the early 2000's. In other words, most studios that Sony bought were up and coming studios that didn't have much ground covered in the industry until Sony groomed them into what they are now. MS on the other hand, seems more interested in taking the easy way out and snatch anything for a quick buck. That's my opinion on the whole thing. In all honesty though, it doesn't affect me personally because I rarely ever bought a Bethesda published game, so it's not a loss to me, but I can see why those who did, aren't too pleased. Time will tell if this move between MS and Bethesda will work out for them.

Re: Sony Believes PS5 Game Pricing Is Fair, Denies It Considered Charging More

@naruball It's just the most popular thing to say these days. Sony is like every other company out there. They want to make money but also will push the price up if development costs increase. That's just the way it is. Even MS defended price increases. Consumers can simply wait until the price drops for any game. It's not like they are forced to buy it at the increased price. These very people just love to complain.

@markzzbr Sorry, but I won't be putting anything to rest. I also don't take every statement said with face value. I take those words with a grain of salt. It's not even a theory at all, because this does happen a lot in the game industry. Don't be so gullible to buy into everything you read. I also read what they said, so it was pointless to quote a recap of what I read. Either way, believe what you like. Nothing you're going to say it's going to change what I believe. Have a nice day. Also...don't waste your time replying because you're on ignore. Don't take it personal.

Re: PS5 Doesn't Have a Web Browser

I barely ever used it, so I'm fine with it. Plus as mentioned, many of us have smartphones and iPhones these days, which perform better. I usually have my laptop near my entertainment center, so it's no biggie.

Re: Sony Considered Raising PS5 Game Prices Beyond $70, Says New Report

@SurvivorGirl1 Of course they'll care if there is enough out there doing what you're doing, but what are the odds of that? If we're being honest, the odds wouldn't be favorable. As much as people complain about price hikes, they eventually accept it and move on. Just as Nintendo almost never lowers their game prices down, yet, people still buy them. There were many who were vocal about Super Mario 3-D All-Stars, but seeing as the sales for that compilation are strong, it didn't really hurt their bottom line. Truth is, those same people tend to cave in because they can't wait for a price drop and buy it anyway. But hey, you never know. Maybe one day, you might see such a unity.

@LiamCroft Oh I know how it works, Liam. Which is why I don't take them too seriously until the truth is out. I'm not one who simply jumps on the bandwagon and believes everything I read. That's the odd thing about journalism. Many claim to have sources, but can't reveal them. So it's there either is truth in it, or simply a fib to get more eyes on their articles. Pretty much a rock stuck in a hard place.

Re: Sony Considered Raising PS5 Game Prices Beyond $70, Says New Report

@zupertramp I think it's more so that there is no sources proving it to be true. Journalists say a lot of things, but like to "protect" their sources. That for me at least, makes it harder to believe them. Until Sony or someone affiliated with them comes out and tells the truth themselves, I'll simply take it with a huge grain of salt as I normally do.

Re: Sony Considered Raising PS5 Game Prices Beyond $70, Says New Report

@LiamCroft If they don't reveal their sources, then how do you expect others to believe it? Lol. If anything, it makes it seem that have something to hide than simply being honest. Not to mention journalists these days do have a knack for sensationalizing. I take anything a journalist says with a grain of salt until there is actual proof of said sources.

Re: Sony Considered Raising PS5 Game Prices Beyond $70, Says New Report

@SurvivorGirl1 I don't think they care. Lol. As long as the majority are buying their games, they'll continue to keep it $70. The cost of game development has gone up. I'm sure Sony and other companies know not everyone can afford $70 games all the time, but they are a business, and they are going to protect their bottom line no matter what. I don't like it either, but it's inevitable that game prices will continue to increase over time. The only hope is that wages increase as well.

Re: Sony Will Grow First-Party Organically, Could Bolster Portfolio with Acquisitions

@Gamer83 Those companies' shareholders would have to be willing to sell their stake. Bethesda happened because they've had a strong standing with MS for years, so no one is surprised really that it happened despite it being a screwed up thing to do to the industry. However, I doubt Ubisoft, Sega, or EA are interested in being bought out as they are neither struggling nor does it really makes sense for their business. Not to mention there are anti-trust laws that exist for a reason to prevent monopolies. All in all, no, MS can't just buy any company outright.
