@get2sammyb Indeed. 2 million in 5 months as they said, is quite a lot in that amount of time. I think it'll hit over 3 at some point within a year..or possibly sooner.
@Porco I'm always amused when people say "indie budget." Because there's really no such thing to be honest. Even indie studios can certainly have larger budgets equal to AAA games. No offense, of course.
@Octane MM is a team of between 50-60 employees. So it's expected that the game will take time with such a small group. Perhaps if their games end up selling more in the future, they may be able to expand.
@Useyourname From what I gathered, it will have its own single player campaign. However, the real focus of Dreams is being able to create. If that doesn't appeal to you, then you probably shouldn't spend your money on it.
@Porco I think it's a bit early to even be thinking about their future to be honest. We really don't have a clue on how much money they have spent on it, but I have to say I doubt it's anywhere near that much. Japan Studio spent years on The Last Guardian. It didn't sell in the millions, but the studio is doing just fine. I'm sure Media Molecule will survive regardless of what the outcome of sales for Dreams is. Just my opinion of course. They've have a great track record, so they have my confidence.
@Marios-love-child I don't see the appeal either. Its the same reason people are so obsessed with Call of Duty games. Multiplayer is addicting for these folks. It helps that it's a Nintendo game, and there is a bias in favor of Nintendo within the industry(at least in my opinion), so naturally, years of glorifying it is going to rub off on those who grew up in the N64/NGC era. The media can influence such an appeal, but that doesn't work on every consumer. To be fair, it's not a bad franchise as I've played a few in the past, but it's not something I'd go out and buy day one. Nintendo games just never really aroused my interest.
@Rick_Deckard Well it cost $399 at launch back in 2013. If it was 4k out of the box, it would have been at least $100 or more extra on top of that. So yes, it was too expensive. Especially when PS3 cost $599 when it released with a Blu-Ray player, which was new to the market at the time.
@get2sammyb I think the way Santa Monica revitalized the franchise probably made it too difficult to forget, which gave it an edge. RDR2 would have been a worthy winner, but I feel that GoW was a bit more special overall.
@Giygas_95 I'm glad it did. Nothing against RDR2, but it just felt like GoW was the better fit to win the big one. What Santa Monica did with the franchise was amazing.
I loved RDR2, but GOW was more worthy of the big one. It was basically reborn from the ashes with its new direction, gameplay and all around narrative. Despite it all, RDR2 won its fair share of awards, so it got plenty of love.
@BAMozzy MS can't buy Sony anyway. Business doesn't work that way. They'd have to be willing to sell. Plus the fact that Japanese companies(especially Sony) won't sell to a foreign company that isn't Japanese. If they were to sell it will be a company within their own region.
@Porco Never heard any rumors of them working with Sony again, though I wouldn't be bothered by it. I feel that while The Order 1886 was a let down due to excessive QTE's and not enough gameplay, the story itself was quite impressive imo. I just hope if there is a sequel, it'll be an improvement, and not more of the same.
@MistressTonberry They seem high on the games as a service model. If that's what these studios are for, then I have zero interest in Xbox in the future. Far as I've heard, Scalebound's cancellation was due to creative differences between MS and Platinum Games. It was also claimed that Platinum was having issues meeting deadlines, but imo, I just think MS was making things difficult for them.
Sony has nothing to worry about. They have plenty of studios, and probably will make an acquisition in the near future. Plus they seem more inclined to expand their studios. Guerilla Games is moving into a new building that allows them to have at least 400 employees, which means they will be able to work on two games at the same time quite easily. Plus there's older news but still recent that Sony opened up a new San Diego studio. It's unclear if it's purpose is for new IP or existing IP. Rumors have it that they'll be the ones to develop future Uncharted games with likely some supervision from key Naughty Dog staff.

@GKO900 Doubt it. If it's selling that well, they aren't going to suddenly just stop producing more copies. Definitely sold out.

@Porco Did he say that? All I read was the budget is indie, which makes no sense. Even indie studios can have budgets on par with triple A games.

@RedDeadSpider It's trash because Spider-Man didn't win an award? Or...

Re: PSN Offline Worldwide as Sony Engineers Investigate
Never noticed any issue, but nice that Sony has been doubling their efforts to resolve these issues.

@IBeAGamer Right? That's just unheard of.

@kyleforrester87 Just looks that way to me. Nothing personal.

@kyleforrester87 You're quite picky it seems.

@MistressTonberry It's the very reason I sold my Xbox One. Scalebound's cancellation was the final nail in the coffin.
Re: Social Media Scuttlebutt Says Microsoft Is Sniffing After Sony Studio
@Porco Sony owns the IP for The Order, so not likely.
