Enjoyed the PSVR1, but having then used a Quest 2, it got resigned to its box and never played again. Sold it a few months back and stashed £300 away in a savings pot for a PSVR2, but given Sony's current pricing strategy and their apparent contempt for their customers, I expect this to be launched at £449 in the UK. That will stop me purchasing at launch as its simply too much money for what it is. Match the price of the Quest 2 at £349 though and I'm in on day one. Seems unlikely!
I'm on Premium until March because I had both PS+ and PS Now, but come April, there's no way I'll be staying on Premium, I'll definitely be dropping to Extra..
As little as I used the original headset, it was still pretty decent for the time. If this can be a slightly more powerful Occulos Quest, with support for some first party titles, I'll buy it at launch.
Heck, just a more reliable version of Beat Sabre and a port of Half Life Alyx would make it a day 1 purchase for me..
I mean, it's a blatant rip-off of MS Rewards, but that's a very good thing! I got a Free Series X from MS Rewards on launch day and I'm over 2/3rd of the way towards another one.. Just waiting for a Series X Slim or Pro announcement before cashing in!
Very much looking forward to seeing how thos works. It's honestly something like this that will keep me subscribed th PS Premium when my sub comes to an end in March..
Huge TLoU fan here.. I bought both the Joel & Ellie Editions on PS3, bought the Remaster along with my PS4, and I went in day 1 on the Collectors Edition of Part 2.. It's one of my favourite games of all time.
However, the 'Remake' can suck a great big Donkey dong. Its shameful that this is a full price game upon its THIRD release, and I think calling it a Remake is way too generous. It's an upscale. If it were on XBox, it would be part of the Smart Delivery program and it would be a free upgrade.
Sony are genuinely losing me as a fan this generation and I've been with them since launch day of the PS1..
Well I think this is utterly Sterling news! This was one of those quirky gems that made me absolutely love the PS3.. I must have completed it half a dozen times. If its heavily censored on PS5 but not on Series X, I'll pick it up there instead as I do with most games these days. Some things deserve to just be stupid fun without an agenda!
Got my PS5 at 8:15am from GAME, surprisingly.. First impressions have both positives and negatives. Positives first, the setup was incredibly fast and for me, the UI is a great improvement. It just feels way more premium and I have to admit, it appeals to me more than the XBox UI. The biggest positive though is the controller; Althoug many people are concentrating on the haptic feedback and huge step forward in rumble and motion control, for me personally, the redesigned size and shape is just a godsend! I bought a Nacon Revolution for my PS4 Pro because I just couldn't get on with the PS4 pads. The DualSense feels great to use and hold, it's a huge leap forward. Download speeds are great too; I was getting 300Mbps during the initial update.
As for the negatives; It's absolutely hideous. It's both bigger and uglier in person than I expected. Thanks to the sizes circulated before release, I bought a new TV cabinet a couple of weeks back with doors to shut the consoles away when not in use. I'm glad I did, the PS5 is the ugliest console I've ever owned. I've then had the odd download issue with updates failing, but they've worked after a few retries.
All in all, pleased I got one. For me, Miles Morales doesn't really look or play any different than Spider-Man on the last gen. Still a great game, so it doesn't really matter, but it's no step forward to my eyes. I will say, DIRT 5 plays very well at 60fps.. Pleasantly surprised by that one!
