Re: Good News! Shenmue III's Scope Just Increased Again

Nikolaidas

Here guys, I'll translate it - it's 'dev speak', a language developers use when communicating with gamers.

"Thanks for all the cash. We're going to talk about terms and mechanics nobody understands - not even us, to be honest - in order to make it seem like what we're doing is totally amazing while we're actually trying to decide how to make the damn thing work. Maybe it'll work on its own? Without human input? Who knows? And neither do we - keeps everybody on their toes!"

Re: E3 2018: The Last of Us: Part II Is Seriously Levelling Up

Nikolaidas

… I feel weird. Visually, it's amazing. Gameplay wise, it's everything a sequel is supposed to be. More of the same, and then some.

And yet … I couldn't help but having a continuous 'been there, done that' feeling as I watched the trailer. Which is exactly the opposite I felt when I saw RE2make. While made with the same engine as RE VII, it felt like an entirely new game, something totally fresh.

I'm sure TLoU2's gonna be a very good game, but it won't rock my world like the first one.

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony PlayStation's E3 2018 Press Conference Deliver?

Nikolaidas

@Flaming_Kaiser I've been following the insider statements. He now says that capcom began with fixed cams, decided to change cams (experimented with 1st person but decided to skip it). Game is finished and they're doing polishing now, aimed for a 2018 November release but delayed the game two months to try and make fixed cam a playable option.
The insider believes that fixed cam will eventually make it into the game.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Strong E3 2018 Show Almost Ruined by Rubbish Format

Nikolaidas

Sounds like someone's going to get a lot of flack for the way said someone organized the conference.

I think this was done purposefully to kill time because they couldn't just show each game for twenty minutes? I don't know. Still, while I applaud MS for sticking to its latest 'you'll see only games' philosophy, at some points it felt frantic and bloated. Still better than Sony's though.
Good sport for honoring your word, Sammy. Looking smashing today!

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony PlayStation's E3 2018 Press Conference Deliver?

Nikolaidas

"I've warned you that only the big four would be shown, and yet you still had crazy expectations."

lol, don't change Sammny, just stay the way you are.

Really awesome to see RE2make, despite knowing it would be shown.

And to those who don't know, RE2make is going to have three camera styles: Over The Shoulder, Fixed Cameras, First Person. And gameplay will change ACCORDINGLY, depending on the camera style. It's the RE game which will unify all fans.

It's Survival Horror, baby.

Re: Talking Point: Did the EA Play 2018 Press Conference Hit the Right Notes?

Nikolaidas

Frankly it was embarrassing to watch the devs and the host trying to build up hype. "HOW COOL WAS THAT TRAIL-AAAAAAH!!??!?!" lol - calm down, lady.

Unravel 2 and SoS look promising, but nothing to lose sleep over.

Anyway, always knew this conference would be a low-key for me. It's Sony's and Square's I'm mostly looking forward to (unless MS is hosting anything Capcom/FROM related).

Re: Talking Point: How Can Sony Win E3 2018?

Nikolaidas

Besides the four megatons, there are 1-3 FROM games to be announced, Devil May Cry V and RE2make (both have been unofficially 100% confirmed to be shown in the next few days - heck, RE2make may be released THIS YEAR), Serious Sam 4, Mortal Kombat XI and (be still my beating heart) there are rumours of Rocksteady's Superman and Square's FFVII Remake.

Christ, what an amazing time to be a gamer.

Re: Please Be Excited for a New Off-Screen Shot of Final Fantasy VII Remake

Nikolaidas

I have faith in Square for this particular project. The fact they've scrapped development and restarted just shows how flawless they want this game to be.

Gamers and journalists can make snarky comments all day for all I care. I know that I'll be super enjoying this game after a few years when it will inevitably come out.

If it takes too long and ends up being a PS5 game, it'll be even more visually impressive and I'll have time to deal with my huge backlog.

For me it's a win-win.

Re: The Surge 2 Announced, Coming to PS4 Next Year

Nikolaidas

@dark_knightmare2
The problem for me is that their games are mediocre souls-like at best. Plus, their bestiary is horribly limited. They need to stop releasing those games like, every twenty months, and instead take their time and make a better game overall. There is potential here, but I feel like they're rushing it.
