@FullbringIchigo The game is super easy to get into and pull off cool looking combos and attacks even if you are a newbie / button masher. My kid nephew feels like a million bucks when he's playing against me in FighterZ, while in SFV, Injustice 2 or Tekken, he's mostly indifferent.

The game caters to the casuals through its simple mechanics. It's not meant simply for the esports community.

@FullbringIchigo Dude … you're nuts. The level of fan-service and respect to the material is flat out ludicrous. You don't get to have every single character's attack be straight out of the manga or the show and simply call it a pretty skin. You don't have finishers that mimic the show and simply call it a pretty skin. There is tons of fanservice.

While I do agree that the game could use more offline modes (I am still pissed over the fact that all Arcade Ladder matches are character-fixed, which means I cannot fight DLC characters unless I play a single VS match agains the CPU), this game has blended fandom and esports almost perfectly.

Broly as a skin, or patched current Broly is fine by me.

No SSJ4 Goku and Vegeta (not because GT, but because we have enough of those two)

UI Goku I'm mixed. He will be unlike any other Goku so this may be the only adult Goku I'm okay with being added.

Kid Goku if done with nimbus and power pole would be different enough in design and gameplay to warrant an appearance.

No GT Goten - completely useless.
No GT Trunks - he's basically Future Trunks with worse clothing.
Pan - sure, both a new female and GT representation is ok.
Uub - sure, GT representation is ok.

@FullbringIchigo Actually, I'd rather they put Caulifla and Kale as separate characters in order to increase the number of females and have Kefla on a sequel / 3rd DLC season.

I'm okay with Cabba, Raditz … eh, maybe in order to have a full 3-team of Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta - the original evil Saiyan trio.

I just don't want to see more Gokus and Vegetas. Although UI Goku and Kid Goku are sure to come.

What will surely piss me off, however, will be a 2nd Broly from the movie.

Re: Jiren Confirmed for Dragon Ball FighterZ Via Leaked Magazine Scan

@FullbringIchigo I think it hurts the roster. The same way that an MK game would hurt the roster if it had 22 characters and 15 of them were ninjas. Yes, I love MK ninjas and I understand that they're insanely popular, but diversity is key in fighting games. Vegeta and Goku fanboys got their juice - six freakin GokuVegetas. Let a, say, Zarbon fan get his due is all I'm asking.

Re: Jiren Confirmed for Dragon Ball FighterZ Via Leaked Magazine Scan

@FullbringIchigo What the heck do you mean 'they don't count'? They take up a character slot, they are another character. In fact, it's even worse when a new character not only is a Saiyan, but he's already in the roster in another incarnation to boot.

The worst part is that I suspect at least 4-5 saiyans in this DLC too. (SSB Gogeta, UI Goku, Kefla, Raditz, Broly [Super])

Re: Hands On: Resident Evil 2's Demo Is a Tantalising Preview of a Sure-Fire Hit

Nikolaidas

@Medic_alert Considering the fact that people played a tiny bit of the game which had Mr. X, I'm pretty sure he'll not be constantly chasing you (because that automatically ruins puzzles and pacing). No, I think that Mr X will work like Nemesis and Jack Baker - he'll be chasing you until you go to a far away area / temporarily knock him out and not stay near to see what will happen.

I noticed (in the demo) that when I would leave out of zombies' sight in my sweet time they would pursue. If I ran more quickly and took 2-3 turns in corridors they would abandon the search.

I think Mr.X will work that way too.

Re: Hands On: Resident Evil 2's Demo Is a Tantalising Preview of a Sure-Fire Hit

@AhabSpampurse Your observation is correct. There have been reports that if you shoot a zombie at a particular body part multiple times, the zombie is disfigured (flesh first, then muscle tissue, then bones). But we're not talking about visual effects, we're talking actual 3d model damage.

It is possible, for example, to shoot a zombie's joints to the point where its arm will fall off.

Shooting them on the kneecaps will crash them, forcing the zombies to fall onto the floor and crawl towards you, greatly reducing their speed.

Sounds amazing, and it is, until you remember that Dead Space did it first. Here though, it is a slower, more arduous process. Feels more rewarding, though.

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Has Microtransactions for Some Stupid Reason

Nikolaidas

@ShogunRok Backwards logic? You referring to me or you?

Look - if Dante's movelist was all but unobtainable via regular means (i.e. playing the game for 2000 hrs to unlock everything unless you cough up real cash), then I'd agree with you.

But this isn't what this is. Here, in this game, it's an option. Either play the game for 8-20 hrs (a timeframe which resembles those in the past DMC games) to unlock everything, or pay up 5-10 bucks extra to unlock everything from the get go.

There's absolutely no reason to hate microtransactions if they're done like this. Heck, if anything, this is EXACTLY how MTXs should go - a way for those who don't wish to invest some time in the game to unlock everything WITHOUT ruining it for those who want to unlock everything in a reasonable timeframe.

But sure, let's all melt the internet because hating MTXs after BFII is the cool thing to do.

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Has Microtransactions for Some Stupid Reason

Nikolaidas

There have already been clarifications that the orb economy won't make this game any more of a grind than the previous DMC games were. If anything, it's even easier to get everything, WITHOUT the microtransactions.

I would expect the uninformed masses to blow a fuse over nothing at all, but I expect better from supposed game journalists.

Re: EA Didn't Force BioWare to Make ANTHEM, Says Former Dev

@JesWood13 My brother (who was a die-hard DA fan) told me that DA-Inq brought back great storytelling (unlike DAII - which he found wanting), but the gameplay was too arcade-y and joypad-dependent for his tastes. He preferred the traditional, Baldur's Gate-like gameplay of the original game.
