Re: Marvel's Avengers PS5 Release Seems Imminent as Trophy List Appears Online

Pleasance

I played a friend's copy (can you tell I'm winking with this eye patch on?) and really enjoyed the campaign despite its many, really damaging, flaws. The heroes and their abilities are all fun as hell and could absolutely hold up in their own standalone games. It's crazy how good they all feel and it's what makes me itch to buy this game (at a substantially reduced price, or after a substantially improved update).

Re: Soapbox: I'm Really Enjoying Cyberpunk 2077

Pleasance

I'm playing on base Ps4 and I'm having a lot of the same experiences you've detailed. Also quite enjoying myself. I see what it's meant to be and most of the time that's shining through for me - in anywhere from 4-10 hour intervals between crashes (better than my experience with crashing in Watch Dogs Legion, honestly).

To me it's the more mundane and irksome bugs or design choices that bring it down. Like the incredibly bad aiming for item pickups, the conflicting actions with the same button mapping, or the prompts getting stuck on screen.

I'm excited to see CDPR (hopefully) make amends and make the PS4 version - at the very least - a serviceable experience, and I look forward to eventually playing the proper next gen version when I upgrade.

Re: CD Projekt RED Responds to Cyberpunk 2077 Epilepsy Concerns

Pleasance

Maybe I'm misinformed - I often am - but shouldn't those susceptible to seizures kind of assume triggering effects like this might come with the territory of playing games, especially those set in colorful neon futures?

The lack of warning is a dumb mistake, but vilifying them for not removing the effects is egocentric.

And if you think there was malice intended on CDPR's side, you're just plain stupid.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Wins 'Player's Voice' at The Game Awards

@ShogunRok Eh, not so much fighting over two games. GoT is a fine game and a rad exclusive. It's more fighting over the kind of ***** heads who would band together to review-bomb or spite-vote against (or harass the creators of) a game every chance they get. I'm certainly not on the same team as those types.

Re: Gotham Knights Is Not Part of the Batman: Arkham Universe, But Suicide Squad Is

Pleasance

Gotham Knights is only not in the same way Origins isn't. Intellectual property reasons. It's clearly post-Arkham Knight and heavily based off the same map.

The Suicide Squad thing is a little silly, considering Floyd Lawton changed races. I get the feeling it's got way too much to do with Will Smith's interpretation. What's this compulsion to borrow so much, visually, from David Ayer's awful movie?
