The biggest issue I have with ps + is that there are more games leaving extra than actually join extra. The only games being added are classic titles which end up in the premium tier. Since the beginning of 2024 PS extra is loosing more titles than it's adding.
It seems that Sony despite the sales it has, despite likely launch a new console in about 3 years they want to sell even more ps5 and expect developers to enchant there games so they might sell a few more copies. Doesn't make sense to me but Sony must have a reasonw
@Carrnage No Sony is not joking about the ps6. I believe Sony's strategy is to copy Apple's Iphone, you know what I mean. I believe every 5-7 years Sony will release a new Playstation with minor improvements and the price will also increase. Personally I'm sticking with my ps3/ps4.
Here is the problem, base game 93.50, deluxe 133.50, ultimate edition 146.50. Then you have the coins you can buy 500 are $7, 550 $67. So the top tier price tag is not enough they add in coins, to make even more money. For me most games that have paid consumable items I will avoid. I will make an exception for the Devil may Cry on the consoles, but that's it.
I really don't know much about DD2 but just from knowing it a huge open world with no fast travel I personally think that right of the bat it's going to be frustrating to be forced to spend a huge amount of time backtracking. Just think of how frustrating Witcher 3 or Skyrim would be without fast travel. Fast travel only takes you to certain locations in most games and it allows you to fully explore the world, which is much of the fun of RPG games.
For me the Final Fantasy series peaked with the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. I played FF 15 and 7 remake and yes they are not bad games but they get frustrating and tedious at times. I didn't enjoy the focus on mini games in FF7 and the hard mode was just annoying. To get the hard mode trophy you need to play though every chapter were you can't use items and can't recover MP. It seems that rebirth added even more mini games which is not what I wanted. And I got so frustrated with the dialogue cut scenes which can't be skipped the second time around.
The ps+ essential seems to be hit and miss, there are a few good games you want at time, most of the time it's games you don't want even if they are "free".
I don't get the point of Sony going out of the way to patch a demo to make it unplayable. Rather the build on the early release of the demo to build hype, just remove the demo and patch it so the people who did download it can't play it.
Hear is what I noticed. FF 7 pt 1 and 2 are exclusive to the Playstation but every other title that Square Enix releases now gets released for the Xbox or/and the Switch.
I played FF7 remake on the ps4 and I was underwhelmed. The graphics were fine, it just for me the plot was tedious and uninteresting. I finished the game and wanted to get the platinum trophy but after 80 hours and I still had at least another 20 - 30 hours to get the platinum, I just gave up. I really wish there was a way to skip though dialogue cut scenes but only full cutscenes can be skipped.
What I am not a big fan of with is that various ps4 remastered games end up on the premium tier rather then extra tier. The extra tier has numerous games but the numbers are kind if inflated simply due to the fact that the ps4 and ps5 versions somehow count as two games. Essential is hit and miss, often miss with only on rare occasions do I end up seeing any games I really want to play. Both extra and premium have some interesting games but the prices are way too high for what you actually get.
Namco Bandai has lots of fun games the problem is they are not always as popular as they might be. I think the Tales of series is there best works, and I always hoped that the older ps1/ps2 Tales of games would end up on ps+ but unfortunately no.
I have never understood the logic of putting any remastered games in the premium tier with the small handful of ps3 and ps1 games that are there. I thought that the premium tier would include more games that were not already available on the ps3 like more ps1 games or any ps2 games, but only a few new ps1 titles have been added. A few vita and psp titles are also appearing but not many and the good games are the ps2 titles which are not appearing.
My impression and take of the FF7 rebirth trailer is that the game will be similar to FFXIII-2 in some respects. Perhaps it's wrong but I think that FF7 will incorporate the idea of fragmented time into rebirth.
Originally only the ps4 pro was capable of 4k until a later patch allowed all ps4 to run at 4k providing the TV has HDR10. To me the ps5 pro is sounding like the Xbox one X, at least to me. I personally think Sony is focusing on the wrong ideas for the ps5 with the vr2 for the ps5 selling ~$800, just for the vr2.
I tend to avoid buying digital movies unless it cheaper to get digital than trying to get a physical copy. I personally find it ironic that MS has stepped up what they offer for digital movies. There are lots of anime titles that are available on the Xbox store and if you wait you can often get a whole season at a discounted price. One of the latest Gundam series The Witch from Mercury is available and the first season has been on sale regularly and recently got the second season which finally when on sale. But I still think that it underhanded for Sony to just remove payed content which undermines there credibility.
My opinion is that Destiny 2 caters to existing players and newbies are largely out of luck and will have to spend a huge amount of money to just get into the game. Most of the " unused content" Bungie removed was the single player content which made in almost impossible for any new player to get to a decent level or power without spending lots of money. Destiny 2 is become gimmicky and it seems any useful game strategy get nerfed by Bungie because Bungie doesn't want the game played that way.

Atomic Heart got funding from the Russian Gas company (Gaspo?) and the plot basically paints the USSR as the villains who want to take over the world.
