@GamingFan4Lyf Hear hear! The pause game function on the Switch is one of the reasons I prefer it to my ps4 nowadays. I'm currently playing Metro Exodus on my ps4, but due to its excruciating loading times I often find myself booting up my Switch instead so I can jump right into the action (well, action, I'm playing Captain Toad at the moment;)).
@RogerRoger I've clearly interpreted your first comment a bit harsher than it was meant!
The only other console that did something similar in my experience was the NES, which was the only time in my life I've seen my father play a video game: Duck Hunt.
I thought the Banner Sage trilogy was terrific, one of my games of this generation for sure. Excellent writing and a proper 'grown up' game. XCOM2 was great too, but the excruciating loading times were preventing me from finishing it. I'm looking forward to playing it on my PS5 with zero loading times (hopefully).
@BridgeToClarity I agree, some Katatonia during GTAV would have been terrific!
Regarding Cyberpunk, I finished The Witcher 3 several years ago, but only recently delved a bit into its expansions. Even though it's got good writing and a brilliant atmosphere, the gameplay itself is unbelievable clunky! Here's hoping they'll fix that with this game.
Can anyone tell me why that bloke on the cover looks like he just smoked some illegal substances after downing 12 cans of Stella, after which he got told to point out his team and sponsor? A bit besides the point maybe, but it pops up everywhere and it looks very awkward to me.
@Broosh I found the first Jak fantastic at the time, but replaying it now unfortunately turned out to be a tad disappointing. It still has a nostalgic appeal to me, but other 3d platformers from around at that time aged a bit more gracefully I'd say. Holding the third one off at the moment but I think you're right in saying that that was a bit better than 2.
@Broosh I thought the same thing, but then I've recently replayed the first two Jak and Daxters, and they were not all that great either. The second one especially was quite mediocre.
I've found the first one one of the most overrated games I've played this generation, along with Horizon Zero Dawn, so I'll pass. Hope it will be everything the fans would like it to be though!

Re: Rumour: Bayonetta Joins Vanquish in Remaster Double Pack, Coming February 2020
Hope you'll be able to buy them separately as I've never seen the appeal of Bayonetta!
Re: Rumour: Vanquish Remaster Launching February 2020 with 4K, 60FPS Enhancements
That would be terrific! Played it back on the 360, surely one of my favourite platinum games and would happily buy the remaster.
Re: Rumour: PS5 and Xbox Scarlett Have Similar 'Very Powerful' Specs, Microsoft 'Well Behind' Sony in Terms of Communication
I can't wait for zero loading times. Something I may be more exciting about than more powerful specs.
Re: Old School RPG Sequel Pillars of Eternity 2 Loots a January 2020 PS4 Release Date
Haven't played the original yet as the apparent loading times put me off, but might give it a go on my new ps5 (if my backlog ever decreases).
Re: Bluepoint's Mysterious PS5 Game Will Become Studio's Proudest Achievement
Shadow of the Colossus 2? That would be quite something as the ps4 remake is one of my favourites of this generation.
Re: PS4 Flogs the Most Software on Black Friday in the UK
@Netret0120 Bah humbug!
Re: Rumour: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Is Coming to PS5 'Sooner Than You Think'
Does that mean we have to wait even longer for a new Ratchet and Clank?
Re: PS4 Flogs the Most Software on Black Friday in the UK
-1 for using the word soccer there!
Hopefully Shenmue 3 shifted some digital copies as the physical sales were quite disastrous so far apparently.
Re: Microsoft Wants to 'Surprise Sony' with Xbox Scarlett, Devkits are Reportedly Rare and 'Nowhere Near Final'
They want to surprise Sony this time around by actually publishing some decent exclusives maybe? I very much doubt it.
Re: Deal: Boy! God of War Is $9.99 on the PS Store This Black Friday
Just ordered my copy at thegamecollection for 12 quid. Interesting to see what all the fuss is about!
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for December 2019?
I actually bought a ps plus subscription last week for the first time, and this is how they repay me?!
Titanfall 2 is alright though, especially for the 4 quid I originally paid for it.
Re: Guide: Black Friday 2019 - Best PS4 Deals on Hardware, Bundles, Games, PS Plus, PSVR, and More
@Barryburton97 Yep, and you can save points on the thegamecollection which makes them even cheaper.
Re: Deal: PS4 Curio Death Stranding Drops to Its Lowest Price Yet
Anyone familiar with this Monster Shop? Website looks a tad dodgy to me ("Black Friday deals are coming soon" Isn't that today?).
Re: This Time Next Year, We'll Be Playing PS5
@Ridwaano That's turning into quite the starting line-up!
Re: This Time Next Year, We'll Be Playing PS5
I might pick it up on day 1 if only to play some ps4 games with decreased loading times (I'm looking at you, XCOM2).
Re: Beat Saber Developer Beat Games Acquired by Facebook
@get2sammyb Ah, I wasn't aware of that!
Re: Beat Saber Developer Beat Games Acquired by Facebook
@hubertuss03 For some reason they mostly seem interested in VR though. Looks like I'm safe for now..
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 299
Finishing off Captain Toad (very quirky!) and Yakuza Zero (hilarious but overlong) before properly starting Shenmue 3.
Re: Deal: PS Plus 12 Month Membership Down to £30 for Black Friday in the UK
Never felt the need for Psplus but 29 quid sounds rather good for 2 free games a month. If only you'd keep these after your subscription expires..
Re: Guide: Best Upcoming PS4 RPGs
Very interested in Yakuza and Elden Ring!
Re: Rumour: PS5 Release Date and Price Allegedly Leaked, But It's Just Some Guy on Twitter
So, how exactly is this news?
Re: PS5 Will Save You Lots and Lots of Time
@Ryall Fair enough, I just wanted to point out that it's not 'just a handheld'
Re: PS5 Will Save You Lots and Lots of Time
@Ryall If that's the case than the Switch is my first handheld that's never left its place underneath my telly.

Can't wait for my SSD ps5!
Re: Hands On: Shenmue III Is a Fantastic Sequel That's Been Frozen in Time
Not reading any of the hands-on info as I'm waiting on the postman to deliver it today after only 18 years of waiting. Psyched!!

Re: I Cardi Believe It! Just Dance 2020 On Wii (Yes, Wii) Outsells PS4 in the UK
@RogerRoger That's a bit harsh to Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Metroid Prime 3 and The Twilight Princess, isn't it?
Re: UK Sales Charts: Death Stranding Is PS4's Second Biggest New IP of 2019
Where's GTA 5?! Fake News!
Re: Guide: Best PS4 Strategy Games

XCOM2 was great too, but the excruciating loading times were preventing me from finishing it. I'm looking forward to playing it on my PS5 with zero loading times (hopefully).
Re: Guerrilla Games Played a Huge Part in Death Stranding's Development
I really disliked Horizon, but the one aspect I did admire were its graphics, so this sounds encouraging.
Re: EA Gives Mass Effect Fans Hope with Confirmation of 'Exciting Remasters' Coming Soon
I completely forgot that EA had anything to do with Dead Space. First day purchase though!
Re: Resident Evil 2 Voice Actress Wants Remakes of Code Veronica X and Dino Crisis
I loved Code Veronica on my Dreamcast, but really disliked the voice for Claire in the remake of 2. Hmmm.
Re: Hands On: Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Live Up to RPG's Legendary Legacy
@Porco I'll just pretend I didn't read that
Re: Rumour: Overwatch 2 Targeting Play of the Game As Underfire Blizzard Brace for BlizzCon
@kyleforrester87 I Agree, Capitalising Every Word In A Title Doesn't Make It Easier To Read Does It?
Re: Hands On: Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Live Up to RPG's Legendary Legacy
"it’s got a frantic real-time combat system similar to that you’d find in any modern hack-and-slash title"
That stung a bit. Ah well, can't be everyone's cup of tea I guess, as long as they leave FF6 alone.
Re: Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack - Old School RPGs Have Still Got It
@johncalmc I'm old too hence I don't want to stare too long at loading screens! Anyway, thanks for the info, I'm putting this on my Christmas list now

Re: Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack - Old School RPGs Have Still Got It
"if you bang it up onto the highest setting then combat is tougher than a Wetherspoons steak."
So basically it's indigestible and leaves you with a stomach ache and a pang of guilt afterwards?
Are the loading times any better than, say, Pillars of Eternity?
Re: Souls Director Miyazaki Says Making Bloodborne 2 Isn't His Call
Doesn't hold a candle to Dark Souls in my book but the atmosphere sure was lovely.
Re: Poll: Is PS Now's Price Drop Tempting You to Subscribe?
No interest at all as I severely dislike subscriptions-based models.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced During Sony PlayStation's State of Play Livestream?
Wow, that looks underwhelming! Other than the Medievil demo there's nothing of interest for me unfortunately.
Re: Poll: Are You Hyped for The Last of Us 2's Return?
@2Rebellious Pray tell, who or what is the leading authority deciding what a good game is then? That will save me a lot of bother in the future!
Re: Feature: State of Play Predictions - 5 Announcements We're Expecting
@Acquiescence Aye, she really looks quite interesting, is she in some sort of game mayhaps?

It's a long shot, but I was just thinking that it would be lovely to see a remaster of Ico being announced.

I've found the first one one of the most overrated games I've played this generation, along with Horizon Zero Dawn, so I'll pass. Hope it will be everything the fans would like it to be though!
Re: Sony Announces State of Play Broadcast for Next Week, Promises New Game Reveals and Updates
Excellent, I like these Direct things. Here's hoping for a Dead Space remaster (one can hope I suppose!).
Re: New EU PlayStation Store Sale Offers Discounts on Ubisoft's PS4 Portfolio
First EA, now Ubisoft. It's getting easier to keep my money in my pocket these last couple of weeks
