Re: A Connecticut Town Wants to Buy and Burn Your Copies of God of War

Crime and murder is unfortunately as old as time, and therefore pre-dates media like films, music and video games. Homicide rates have declined over the years that the popularity of video games has increased. It's a bit naive to believe that violence in the media plays absolutely no part in real life violence, but it's crazy to think that video games instigate crime.

As Sammy says, in a way it's good that this town is alerting parents to the age ratings and mature content of media and thinking about the impact of violent material more, but the National Rifle Association blaming the shootings on video games is absurd. Surely handing over firearms would do more to lessen crime rates?

@get2sammyb Hmmm Sammy, that is a very good point - it may very well be a race to see who can take the first place in the living room between Sony & Microsoft, I see what you mean @Squiggle55. Let's just hope that a tactic like that doesn't jeopardise the quality of the new console itself.

@moomoo I think you're right there. I imported 999 so had the experience of playing both, and there were a few nods towards 999 story-wise that wouldn't have been so important and shocking if you hadn't played the original. But then again, 10 is a very high score - you have to ask yourself, is any game true 'perfection'..?

@kivi95 It was a really tough call on the scoring, much deliberating went on between myself and Push Square's lovely editor, but we decided to stick to our guns - it really was a disappointment for a game that showed so much promise, especially considering its commendable roots (LBP & ModNation)!
