Re: Opinion: Sony's Not Solely to Blame for PS Vita's Demise

TomKongPhooey

If a company isn't satisfied with a 50 miliion unit player base to try and sell too then they need to rethink how much they are investing in producing, procuring etc games. 50 million units should be more than ample for a company to give it 100% dedication. This in my eyes is solely Sony's fault because once they sold the vita they don't give a toss anymore. I've never had a vita due to only moving to ps4 from xbox 360 and therefore I couldnt warrant the investment solely for a handheld device which I had to purchase games again for a handheld. However with Ps Plus and cross platform stuff etc now I have a PS4 I was looking into a vita in the near future. I won't be doing that now as it's being written off. Shame but Sony have a track record of pushing out new innovation and then once the initial sales are in kicking it to the wayside. The blame rests solely in Sony's court IMHO.

Weirdness: Big Baby Blames PlayStation for His Bad Driving

Fixed the title for you. He's no man, if he was a man he'd admit and blame himself instead of trying to blame a videogame. Idiots like this are the bain of this world and should be banned from breeding any further. Humanity don't need fools like this to continue on our existence.
Maybe a bit OTT I know but I was just bursting to say this after reading about him. ;(

Re: Round Up: FIFA 16 PS4 Reviews Attack the Last Man

TomKongPhooey

@kyleforrester87 funnily enough Fifa 96 was the last footie game I actually paid for. I always try before I buy both series in my brothers house and none have made me want to buy them since Fifa96. lol Funny that you mentioned that era also lol.
Pro Evo does look worth a nosey although I will try in the bro's first again b4 deciding lol

Re: TGS 2015: Sony Suggests PlayStation VR Won't Be Cheap

TomKongPhooey

@Slime
there's realistic and there's sick of useless expensive add-ons not worth the purchase because they flop or once initally launched don't get any further promotion and investment. I also am interested in this and will buy at some point for a max of £250-300 may i mention but unfortunately I ain't a shareholder in Sony and don't make anything off the sales of these products so why will I get conned into contributing to the production,R&D,promotion and stablization of a risky products cost etc. again?

Re: Review: Mad Max (PS4)

TomKongPhooey

great game, must admit can get tedious if you plan on collecting everything. Open World 101 syndrome. I've found a happy medium. I don't bother with all the scrap locations. I do everything else, I have more than enough scrap from everything else to buy whatever I need. Leave out all the scrap locations and this game rises to a good 7.5-8 out of 10. Sure if you pass clean thru one stop, why not but otherwise leave them out and the game flows far better imho.

Re: Drive Sideways with New Need for Speed PS4 Trailer

TomKongPhooey

Once this was announce as online only my interest disappeared. Online only games are not for me. Well at least not until the PSN is 100% solid and maybe not even then. It irks me that If I cancel my PS+ subcription anytime in the future for any reason then my investment in any online only games I have are ruined and totally unplayable. That is not on.

Re: Naughty Dog: We Can Put Together a Really Great Add-on for Uncharted 4

TomKongPhooey

So the game isn't out till 18th March. Add it to the disc and include it with the game. Naughty Dog has more than enough time to do so rather than informing pre-order customers that they have to buy more DLC to receive things that at this stage of production should be clumped together and given with the base game. DLC should only be announce after a game is released and the gamers need more of said game not announced months b4 the game is even released. This stinks to high heaven and disgusts me about the gaming industry these days. Im not anti DLC, but I am anti ripping off the customer.

Re: Sony: PlayStation Innovation Is Simply Unparalleled

TomKongPhooey

when your PS4 cant do some of the things your PS3 can then I wouldn't be blowing any trumpets regarding innovation. When a PS4 controller's battery can't even last your whole session of gameplay then that to me is not innovation. When said controller can't take any battering at all without the triggers breaking and the thumb sticks wearing out and the PS3's didn't I don't deem that as innovation at all. I deem all these things as purposely not done correctly to continue to get you to buy additional items to keep their shareholders happy over the lifetime of the console. etc etc

Re: First Impressions: Call of Duty: Black Ops III Embraces the Past As It Focuses on the Future

TomKongPhooey

First COD to peak my interests since COD4:MW. I didnt think for a second I'd like this booster pack double jump thingy but it makes all the maps much more fun/playable. THe game still plays well staying put on the ground but when the walls start to get used the fun really kicks off. I have always enjoyed a run/gun style tho so Im slightly biased. Sniping was found a bit lacking tho but I'm sure it'll be evened out a bit better by release.
When the beta ended I preordered the £80 version which includes the season pass.
It's worth £80 of my hard earned to see if Treyarch has pulled me back to the COD franchise.

Re: Europe, Download Your PlayStation Plus Freebies Now

TomKongPhooey

I'll pass on them also. Didnt like limbo, osiris was free on 360 ages ago so done with that and the others just don't peak my interest at all. Stealth possibly at a push if I was stuck for a game to play however my backlog of games waiting to be played is already soooo long.

Re: Weirdness: Nuke the Fridge with Call of Duty: Black Ops III's Juggernog Edition

TomKongPhooey

I'll buy the cheap a55 bog standard video game. You know the one that gives me the game and only the game. I'm a video gamer not a collector of tat and junk. I don't buy into any of this junk ever. Video games are a massive industry I know, I however prefer just to game.

With all the addons, dlc, season passes and exclusive contents etc on every new release gaming is already getting way too expensive to enjoy the full game storyline nevermind filling my house up and emptying my wallet with junk.

Re: PSN's Down for Routine Maintenance Later Today

TomKongPhooey

Always good to see the network being maintained. If they could just stop the outages and maybe invest the PS Plus money back into the service instead of in shareholders pockets and the PSNetwork would be a thing to enjoy and be in awe with. Might even work well all the time too lol.

Re: There's Big Tekken 7 News Coming Your Way Next Week

TomKongPhooey

this really irks me when companies do this. (Also partially forums following suit )

I don't want to know when there is gonna be new news, that isn't of any comfort to anyone. I wanna READ new news not when it is gonna come out. No-one wants 'stay tuned next week' guff. We are staying tuned. Don't give us heads up about news later, dont talk til you got news to release.

Re: DriveClub: PS Plus Edition Begins Slow and Steady Roll Out Tomorrow

TomKongPhooey

thank gawd i picked this up shortly after the plus version was delayed. Ive enjoyed the game and moved on ages ago instead of all this jumping thru hoops for a sub par copy of the true game. It's been out that long the plus version should be offered to all and the full game given free on PS Plus to all plus members for July's free games. What a mess this release has been.

Re: Sony's Readying a 1TB PlayStation 4 Model

TomKongPhooey

2TB here myself. Bought on amazon for £70 3 months ago. Took 10 mins to install. Anybody could do it. Went to PSN put all games on download list and put ps4 into rest mode. Went to work. Came back from work. Job done. Painless. Far better than previous HDD replacements on other consoles.

Re: Need for Speed PS4 Will Require an Internet Connection

TomKongPhooey

my mind has just been changed on this game. Was gonna buy this as I used to love most wanted but if it's forcing me to be connected (even tho I am) then I'll pass. If I decide that my PSN subscrip isnt worth paying this year, I lose access to my games also. Nah I'll pass. Good going EA. My hype has just wained.

Re: Project CARS' Conclusion to This Le Mans Race Is Unexpected

TomKongPhooey

dont get me wrong it is a good game. very pick up and playable. But I'll be staying clear of 24hr races deffo. The karts are good fun and some of the tracks are really nice to drive thru. Worth a pick up in the bargain bin or if you didnt fancy driveclub and need a driving fix. I got both tho and still find myself favouring this over driveclub overall. 7.5 out of 10.

Re: The Next Assassin's Creed Is Being Revealed in Just a Few Days

TomKongPhooey

Loved unity. Love the franchise. Even the 2.5d stuff aint half bad but I'm gonna hold off and pick this one up cheap. These companies need to slow down that conveyor belt of chucking these games together any mish mash way. I still have stuff in unity that I can't complete due to errors. 7 nomad points and 1 nomad chest specifically. (Emails to ubisoft yield no change.) If they slowed down these game releases then they might just complete these games before they go out instead of after the cash has got into their pockets and the inclination to fix anything fades.

Re: Assassin's Creed Chronicles Reveals Its Hidden Blade Next Month on PS4

TomKongPhooey

All this AC butthurt. This forum is getting as bad as GTAF(b1tch central). AC unity might have had a few release flaws but none of them were gamebreaking. Yes Im still missing a few nomad points or a chest or two which have glitched and can't be collected. Yes there is some drop out or whatever it's called but the general basics of the game worked and worked well and it was a refreshing return to just assassin's creed instead of sailing the whole game awayas in recent games. If you don't like the series anymore then stay away sure but I'm for one am more than happy with Ubisoft's games and look forward to these freebies alongside the Far Cry 4 digital copy I got for nothing. (season pass hehe)

Re: DriveClub Developer Waylaid by Layoffs

TomKongPhooey

Refused to buy this game as it was offered as a PS+ title but never materialised. However when I realised it wasnt going to show and learned the problems were all but fixed I hesitantly forked out £25 for this on PSN. Best £25 of the PS4 so far for me. Without any DLC etc the base game will give you hours of fun and enjoyment not to mention them jaw dropping moments when you turn a corner and the visuals just stop you virtually dead in your tracks.

Sad to see layoffs but it's common to slimline in the games industry when jobs are deemed complete or mostly over. Good luck to Evo because they can make a cracking game. They got my backing. So much so that when I accumulate a few quid again I'll be getting the extra DLC's also. Driveclub is a keeper for me and is a game that lets you pop in for a quick race or three often and regularily.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Spending More Money Than Ever on Digital Games?

TomKongPhooey

I alway swore by physical copies for my console gaming but with the PS4 I bought watchdogs digitally on preorder and liked the 'ready and waiting' system so much my whole ps4 catalog is now digital to the extent that I swapped out my HDD yesterday and put in a 2TB one. I never thought I'd fill a 500gb hd so quickly but some of the indie games tho are just too hard to resist ffs. Couple that with the free PS plus titles each month and it soon fills. lol

(edited in just in case) Here's the HDD:

Re: Pure Hold'em Plays Its Cards Right on PS4

TomKongPhooey

love Pure Pool but really dislike their free version hustle kings. @Sammy Is this a buyable title like Pure Pool or is it a free to play like hustle kings? If it's the latter it'll make me pass it up. I love pure pool because it is exactly that purely pool. (mute the music stick on your own tunes and it's heaven) The hustle kings title is so full of info it's irritating.

Hope this title is Voodoo's old style of purely hold'em and not based around Hustle. I don't mind paying for a tltle to stop all the intrusive 'playing with others' crap the free to play seems to fill your screen with.

Re: Assassin's Creed Unity's Newest Patch Means No More Using Apps and Sites to Unlock Content

TomKongPhooey

It definately came a long way since it's release. Still has some big problems tho. So far you can't 100% it as there is at least 1 nomad chest that you cant access and I personally have about 7 nomad points that won't allow you to collect it. They seem glitched. You can run clean thru them and it doesnt recognise it. What a shame because overall I've been more than satified with this title especially the fact they gave me Far Cry 4 for buying the season pass lol
