Re: Mission Blog: Chapter 4 - Financial Times

TomKongPhooey

Super story. Im still trying to upgrade my hyperdrive but again Im only on my 3rd planetary system and am in no hurry to push on forward. I'm enjoying the scenery way too much. I've experienced a violent planet tho in my last system and must admit I got some real enjoyment in dodging nasty sentinels and creatures also. Great fun and a great read again. Cheers

Re: Feature: Everything You Need to Know About PS4 Pro

TomKongPhooey

it boils down to one question for me. Quietness. If it's quieter then I might make a jump in the future when my ps4 seems tired. As it stands at the minute with a completely Digital Library this generation the PS4 sounds like a jet aeroplane even when idling and doing nothing. If they can reduce the sound out of the PS4pro then I may be tempted as I've to turn my tv up very loud to hear over the drone. B4 Im asked yes I do clean out the fans etc and make sure it's not laden with dust but it's still way too loud. Give me a quiet PS4 and I'll buy it on the spot.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered to Get All Original 16 Maps, First Multiplayer Footage

TomKongPhooey

@Tasuki I can't see them losing out on the chance of a double pay day. Once the IW thing has run it's course I can see them releasing the remaster on it's own. It's not to say with a few more vid's of the remaster that I'll not fold into a drooling heap and pay for the minimum package that gets me the remaster as MW was my be all and end all for COD but I just don't like the look of IW at all.

Re: Review: Assetto Corsa (PS4)

TomKongPhooey

The last time I seen outrage like this was for the No Man's Sky review last week lol. That is a niche game also but ppl believed it to be for the masses. B*tchers will B*tch, forget about them and move on Jacob.

Good review btw it clearly pointed out that this game is a simulation. It is trying to break it's way into a market where it most likely will struggle esp. since buying the game is useless unless I buy a full FFB steering wheel and pedals to play it.

It could deserves a 5 in my opinion if it's trying to sell itself without clearly advertising on the box that you totally need a steering wheel to play the thing. Being totally honest I don't think it deserves a 5 on PS4. Fine it might be the dawg's proverbials on PC but this is a PS4 site with PS4 reviews and I'd be sickened to pay full price for this only to be informed that I need a further bigger investment to actually play it completely. Go back to PC with your unplayable game in the current form (i.e without a wheel) and give our heads peace or even better sell it with a wheel and stop trying to con the console market.

Mightn't have said this very effectively but the intent stands.

Re: Video: Wallrun Away with Some Titanfall 2 PS4 Gameplay

TomKongPhooey

tried this game for 2 games only. Soon realised it isn't for me. It is just too gawd damned fast. I've always love fps games but my mind doesnt work that fast anymore. Add to that the fact any high area seems open to all and results in my eyes getting sore from trying to look around too many areas of the screen at the same time. The vertical freedom that I have yearned for years in these types of games has finally came and I can't keep up lol. Ah well

Re: Your Witcher 3 Save Files Won't Work with the Complete Edition

TomKongPhooey

I love the game and put loads of hours into it but didnt get any of the DLC because I knew I wanted the full lot version when it came out. Not too happy about having to start again with the new one. Might just pass now and move on. Shame I sorta fancied playing the dlc eventually but so many other games are out that are fighting for my attention I think it would bug me to have to start again even tho I've a lvl 30 game save sitting in another folder on my ps4. bad move cd projekt

Re: Hello Games Urges Those with Early Copies of No Man's Sky Not to Play

TomKongPhooey

always hated day one patches but in this case i'm glad to see it as early users ain't playing a full game yet. Im just glad to see this game in general truth be told.

I wish tho a day one patch was actually an unlock key to play the game. i.e any title received early didn't actually work until a day one release patch enabled the game for all at the same time. That would make day one patches at least worth downloading as you know noone could spoil the story for you in advance without it.

Re: No Man's Sky's Trade PS4 Trailer Will Fuel Your Hype

TomKongPhooey

this game just cannot come quick enough. I think it's gonna be a game I will keep coming back to purely for the 'whats next' experience. Like it or not a handful of people have created a whole universe. Not a city, not some racetrack, not even a whole country but a fekking universe. Cool. Even if this game turns out to be boring or repetitive I'm just in awe at what these guys have made. Mathematics rocks ppl lol

Re: Talking Point: PlayStation 4K - Are You In or Out?

TomKongPhooey

my ps4 is upgraded to 2tb, ive only got a 1080p tv so i think i'll pass. Not too happy about all this upgrading console business either. That's a PC's business not a console.

Seems to me the whole game industry is becoming a money sink these days and it seems all of the companies involved in the making of games or hardware are solely in it for greed. There is no love of creating games and enjoying making them, no adjusting timelines etc like it used to be. Now a timeline is always set in stone and no matter what state the game is at if it's due for release then stuff the end user. No-one gives a d*mn about making the game a polished experience. I cant recall ffs when was the last time a game release day one and didnt require a patch. Finally don't get me started on remasters this generation. That's a whole new gripe.

To recap: no thanks I'll pass. Sony is too greedy me thinks

Re: Free MMO Neverwinter Brings Epic Scale to PS4 This Summer

TomKongPhooey

played this on PC when it first came out. Left and never returned once I reached top level on it. Do you reckon my character will still be there when it comes to PS4? I hope so as I've played the early content and reckon I'd only give this another whirl if I can delve in and continue where I left off playing only the newly added content. Don't reckon I'd be that lucky tho lol

Re: PS4K Is Codenamed Neo, Has Upgraded Specs, Will Not Supplant Existing PS4 Systems

TomKongPhooey

Ah well after giving up on my PC rig this generation round and deciding to go all console it looks like I may have well just carried on upgrading and replacing my pc. It's a s**tty move by Sony no matter what way it's looked at and I for one will proudly say the original PS4 is the last console Sony will be getting me to buy. I'll stick with PC gaming. As for PS exclusives, I did without uncharted before this generation, I'll do without again. It's no biggie really. Especially when PS exclusives become a thing of the past as the games industry realise that they can reach other platforms with little/ no alteration to the game codes and minimal costs to them..

Re: Live: Watch as We Shave Seconds Off Our Laps in TrackMania Turbo

TomKongPhooey

it's a great game to play. Especially for anyone who just likes racing. The load times and time between races is so small you can just about get a drink refill between them. I was glued to my seat due to the quickness of getting another races going.

I gave offline and online a good run thru on the beta and where the racing style is maybe a bit too frantic for me truth be told it is otherwise a very solid well built racer.
Keeping your rating/ranking updated with everyone else racing in your country etc is a nice wee touch as even when you wish to give up playing for the moment you find yourself going just one more race and see how my ratings fair then. lol a solid 8/10 racer just a bit frantic for me. Visuals are extremely nice also and with the make your own track options the replay value is definately there.

Re: Poll: Would You Sell Back Your Digital PS4 Games for PSN Credit?

TomKongPhooey

I went totally digital this time round as I was never one for bringing back games. The pittance they give you never enticed me. 10% sounds very little if I was to use it. I'd expect 20% - 25% especially as a digital gamer most of the titles I buy are bought at the full PSN first day price which is already OTT in my opinion but I chose digitial so i expected the prices.

I agree with @neolit tho that there is room on all systems (now we have digital) of a second hand digital sales where MS/Sony and the developer take a cut of the second hand sales also. Everyones a winner and ppl won't be afraid of moving to digital. Effectively for a price that suits you(minus second-sale cuts), you would sell your entitlement to a game to another gamer. Job done.
