Not interested in rewarding a game that's main focal point was "whatever black guy we can find for our next story that actually existed but let's overblow him"
I'd rather reward Devs that want to make genuinely great games so I've been playing Split Fiction instead.
@LogicStrikesAgain The controller of the portal is clearly matched by an actual dualsense... Which is what you can use when you use an iPad or phone or laptop through remote play... Similar latency, except on a better screen with a full controller freedom of movement.
I never said the steam deck has a better controller, but the oled variant is a better screen by far.
At £200 the portal imo is a waste of money & a mediocre device. It targets an audience of tech illiterates & people that don't know any better, which is why the replies are always "I don't get any latency must be your internet"... Yet it's an objective fact there is increased latency on the portal, by the very nature of what the device is...
All you have to do is visit the r/psportal subreddit to see some of the ridiculous white knighting for this device. People seriously draining Sony & pretending the screen is on par with top end screens, or there's no latency, or that stick drift isn't a problem...
It's one thing to enjoy a device for what it is... But it's another to pretend it's a top tier device when it clearly is a low end device made for very casual players.
My point has always been the same... It's a poor long term purchase. £200 is basically a waste of money on this device.
I'd rather pay £300 for the same device with an OLED screen & replaceable sticks... At least then it's a better long term proposition, but right now? It's basically made to use for 1-2 years then when the stick drift is horrible either throw it out, don't use it, or learn how to solder & go to extreme rate to go through the effort of modding it with new sticks
And yeah no point replying, we are clearly different levels of "gamers" with different requirements & knowledge in the tech space.
@WeirdAlUHF334 I said latency. There is noticeable latency on the Portal, if you don't see it it's likely because you're old or have slow reactions. Digital foundry have also unequivocally proven there is increased latency, it's not a controversial thing to say & that issue is only exacerbated with worse internet.
I don't play switch so cannot compare, but it's an inferior experience to iPad, a high end phone using remote play & Steam deck oled.
I said it's EITHER a brain-dead oversight, or purposeful greed to leave the dualsense Edge sticks off this device... That's not insulting the users, that's insulting a company which quite frankly is a shambles these days & I'm saying this as someone who owns a Pro , the Edge, has been permabanned 7 times & lost ~$400 on money left on accounts that Sony refused to give back to me after permabans.
Adding the dualsense edge controller tech would add $20 at most to this device...it's not like we're talking about TMR sticks... It's still the cheap as hell ALPS sticks.
I also never said the device should still be £200 with an OLED screen... I said It wouldn't surprise me if they make a "pro variant" with an OLED screen and the dualedge sticks & sell it for £350.
Personally if it had those things + it gave me full streaming access to my own library for £300 I'd buy it. Right now I believe it only allows full cloud streaming to the Premium library & not your own personal library (I returned it before they did the premium library updated).
As for the iPad comment, who buys an iPad to play games on primarily? Nobody... The point is a device you already use like a high end phone + a backbone controller, or an iPad with a dualsense, is a better experience than the portal.
You're trying to make it sound like I suggested people go out and buy an iPad for gaming, then you talk about nuance whole completely misinterpreting at least 4 of the things I said...
@Runex2121 I love how the reply has to always be "well you've obviously never used one or don't have good internet.
For the record I'm on gigabit full fibre to the premise, 1GB up and down have the router on modem mode going straight to my Asus pro router.
Everything apart from phones and the printer runs off wired. I have great internet & have zero issues.
If you re read what I said, the latency for certain games on the portal is borderline unplayable... I bought one purely to try it out & confirm suspicions I already had & mess around with me. It was an awful device & quite frankly the dualsense edge is still the most practical accessory Playstation sells.
My main screen is an OLED 240hz LG, so it's a clear downgrade going from that, to using that mediocre as hell little screen.
It makes me laugh how many people are clearly so biased to justify their purchases that they ignore all the factual comments about it that are somewhat negative.
It's a mediocre device with a weak screen, added latency (proven numerous times by DF) & guaranteed stick drift on the way.
It's literally just a cheap test device to see if a vita 2 would sell well.
Also it does not look better than the switch OLED, if you actually believe that then you need to get your eyes checked asap.
Never thought such a mediocre device would sell so well.
It has a trash screen, guaranteed drift without using their own Edge technology for replaceable sticks & enough latency that makes certain types of games borderline unplayable even with top end networking gear.
The only good thing about this garbage device selling so well is that it gives Sony a reason to create the device we actually want, a PSP2/Vita2 with actual guts, storage & offline capabilities.
Anyone seriously saying that was boring or "bad" is either a troll, or just doesn't know games and should probably stop playing, or stick to Fortnite, or cod, or whatever crap they're used to.
Onimusha 2 Remaster + a new Onimusha trailer is great.
New game from Benzies, one of the key guys that made GTA & Red Dead what they are.
Some awesome looking Indies, & creative ideas
Lies of P DLC
MGS
Hell is Us second trailer, looks interesting
A new game from Returnal Devs
Idk what you people expect, the majority of you are such disgraceful know nothing casuals you're not happy unless it's Bloodborne, which most of you never even finished you just pretend you played it just like Hollow Knight:Silksong, which I guarantee 99% of you scrubs in these comments couldn't even sniff the final 3rd of the game, let alone the Pantheons.
There were some great games announced, the audience is just a bunch of ungrateful non-gamers that know nothing of the industry & instead are only happy if a new GTA game comes out, not that they can even buy it themselves anyways, smh.

Re: Bloodborne, Elden Ring Dev Won't Be Releasing Its Next Big Game on PS5
Has to be a late April fools troll. How can you have been working on the next game for that pathetic little handheld instead of the main systems.
I'll pirate this on PC before I ever buy a switch, ridiculous decision to prioritise a game for switch when you're mostly owned by Sony.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Split Fiction?
A 10 is ridiculous, given that the writing/story in general is pretty weak & there's a tonne of lazy tropes with the characters.
The fun factor though & how well it works mechanically make it a 9 for me.
Re: These 9+ New PS5, PS4 Games Are Coming Out Next Week (17th-23rd March)
No matter how much Ubisoft pay you to promote AC, I will not be buying that mediocrity. Let it fail like DragonAge & people learn their lessons.

@LogicStrikesAgain like I already said. I owned one & returned it
It's a trash screen amongst other problems the device has.

Re: Poll: What Were Your Favourite PS5 Games from State of Play?
Both Onimusha Games & Hell is Us.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 568
Played Nightreign, pretty disappointed with it as it's just a ***** battle royale game being hard carried by the Elden Ring universe.
Went to play Onimusha instead & Tomb Raider 4-6
