I don't think this will be a failure because it will be a bad game. I think it will be a failure because unless it's another Fortnite, Squeenix will see it as a failure.
I don't trust them to support this game in the slightest. If it's a F2P game that requires little to no initial investment, that's all well and good for me as a consumer. But if it's full price, no. I'm not paying that kind of money for Squeenix to pull the plug on it because it's not getting the engagement they expected. And I doubt many others will either.
I already have access to the Beth games on the Xbox side, but it will be fun to play Kena and Sackboy. I'm still grandfathered in at the original PSNow price so I'll ride it as long as they'll give it to me.
Day one buy for me The Cowabunga Collection is going to fill a huge, gaping hole in my gaming collection, and Shredder's Revenge will be the spiritual sequel I've been waiting for since Turtles in Time back on SNES. I am personally more hyped for this than any of the AAA titles coming on either Playstation or Xbox for the rest of the year.
Spiders does look to be getting better and growing with every game they make. I loved Greedfall but there was waaaay too much running back and forth talking to people. If this focuses more on the combat and less on taking to the same people repeatedly, I'm in.
The fact that the DS3 controller beat out the XBO Elite nullifies that entire bracket. I'm sure the DualSense is a fine controller but the DS3 was garbage.
I would honestly prefer Sony have their own service. As someone who owns both consoles, then I could invest in both services without feeling like I"m paying for a lot of overlapping third party titles. If MS kept theirs to themselves and Sony did the same, it would maximize the value for both (imo).
@twenty90seven Their GRID reboot had the sticky tires that the original GRID had. I liked it because it was a decent amount of arcade with a touch of sim. It made for more exciting races because you could go balls out and not have to worry (too much) about taking the perfect line. I kinda hope they stick with that. If I want sim-cade I'll stick with Forza MS and GT.

Re: Lords of the Fallen Really Is Shaping Up to Be a Surprise PS5 Stunner
Reading that description just made me want a remake of Soul Reaver that much more. C'mon Eidos! You don't have to listen to Squeenix anymore!

They have a talent for picking characters nobody asked for.

Re: Rumour: A New Ghost Recon Game That Isn't Frontline Is in Development
@Danloaded Be more like Ghost Recon and less like both of those.
Re: Huge PS Store Spring Sale Discounts 1,000 PS5, PS4 Games
Sony still refuses to acknowledge Days Gone exists. I'd buy that game for ten bucks.

Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin - Utterly Ridiculous Final Fantasy Spin-Off
This will be a fun game to pick up for 10 or 12 bucks during a Black Friday sale.
Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Is So PS2 It Hurts
Hopefully the combat and gameplay harkens back to those old days as well. I could use a good fun button-masher nowadays.

Re: GRID Legends' Cheesy FMV Cut-Scenes Will Become the Thing of Legend
So they took the worst part of all of the recent NFS games and ham-fisted them into GRID?
EA already making its presence felt.
