Re: Canada Joins UK, US in Questioning Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Buyout

YonkoBuggyTheClown

@Titntin remember when it comes to the media; everything comes with a bias. Although they have not been as vocal as even Google about it, Amazon is very much against this deal as well. This is how they voice their disapproval. It makes sense too though. For all their talk about “we’ll give anyone who wants a deal for cod a deal for cod” Luna is suspiciously absent from the list of third party cloud people who will get COD. Just like Sony, Amazon hated the thought of Microsoft being around. Anyway, Washington Post is a media outlet owned by them, so of course they’ll write against the deal or anything painting this deal negatively. I would take them with a grain of salt. Better people would be the Wall Street Journal or someone.

@GymratAmarillo I'm actually looking forward to their trademark jank. I like to point and laugh at silly things (and people lol). I'm pretty sure it will meet that lofty expectation, and if it doesn't, I'm due of a steering wheel for Forza. Certainly, the game can meet my expectation for a month. Here's a question. How freaking big is this game going to be? do I have to buy another hard drive? Yeesh. 175 hours of 4K CG cinematics? How will that work on a feeble console?

Re: Publishers Don't Like 'Value Destructive' Subs Like Xbox Game Pass, Says Sony Boss

@number1024 Xbot here. That last sentence you typed stung lol. Too true though. I played Outriders with my brother. I TRIED like hell to enjoy it. All I can say is thank god neither of us put money for that. And Microsoft wants to make a game with them? Yikes.

Guess the games seemed enough like Gears to give them a chance. But the balance was TERRIBLE. Cool while it lasted though.

I can see what you said as being true. Even with quality games like Soul Hackers 2. Game came out to absolutely no buzz across all platforms. They put it on not only to bolster hype and playtime, but recoup the costs of making the game. Someone put out an article asking why the game was not on GP and Sega hit themselves in the forehead and said DAMN. Few weeks later? “You must play this Atlus hidden gem on Game Pass now” articles came out. I myself bought that game day one because I didn’t know if it was ever going to be on GP and I hyped myself into it. No regrets though. I choose what to obsess over. And SMT is it lol.

Just like Phillip is saying what he needs to to pas the deal, James is saying what he has to to get it blocked. Without concrete proof that every dev and pub hates it, it's just hearsay. Why the hell do you think he was too much of a coward to be there? So that no one would be able to ask him "what proof do you have?"

So that people will think his word is fact. If you believe him, good job. You been conned.

Re: Microsoft's Potential Game Plan in 2020: 'Spend Sony Out of Business'

YonkoBuggyTheClown

@Deadlyblack I mean, that’s what Sony did? Their last shooter came out ten entire years ago. Their strategy has been “eh. We’ll pay someone else to do it.” It’s been that way with shooters, it’s been that way with JP style games.

They got their ass kicked by From Software last year and in response, they increased their share of the company.

NO APPROACH IS BETTER THAN THE ORHER PEOPLE. The results will be the same. Games of certain consoles and people crying about them.

This is flawed logic.

Re: UK's Regulator Responds to European Commission's Decision to Pass Xbox's Activision Buyout

YonkoBuggyTheClown

@Serialsid You have to, being an Xbox fan. Even I know they suck.

I chose to get an XB1 before a PS4, and I paid the price for that by having the bulk of my digital library on a wack console. I also got the SX before the 5. Sunk costs and all that.

I use them both.

PS fans need to get a sense of humor. Their games reflect their company and their gamers. Too arrogant and serious.

So, we have one regulator who is too stupid and lazy to want to do their job and regulate the market, one who is stupid, powerless and wastes resources and taxpayer money on a fruitless campaign, and the rest of the world who sees the common sense that Microsoft has no intention to pull anything away from anyone, they've extended olive branches to various other companies, and they're the only ones who give a damn about investing in the technology that will help the industry grow beyond where they have been for the past 40 odd years.

We'll see who wins.

Let's call the CMA's decision what it really was. Assisting SONY remain the dominant player in video games. They just needed any excuse for it. You guys won't lose any games, Sony will still make Activision's money, they'll just have a new master. Get used to it. Oh, and thanks for helping MS fund Game Pass.

BTW, I don't care what you're going to reply to me with.

Re: Sony Claps Back at UK Regulator's 'Irrational' Reversal on Microsoft Activision Deal

YonkoBuggyTheClown

This is the behavior of a company that realized too late that the winds, definitions, conditions, everything, are all changing. They have to catch up, which will take at least a half a decade, but they don't want to. They want to be the Apple of gaming, but don't want to put in the effort to drive innovation like Apple would.

If you guys think having a trillion dollar corporation take the brunt of the financial cost in order for us to play video games is a bad thing, you're a fool. Full stop. You think you're more "valuable" as a customer because you throw out more money per game in a shorter amount of time? That's called "being a sucker." Sony has demonstrated that they don't give to craps about any of you. And you keep coming to them and defending their anti-consumer practices. They can afford to put GOW and all their other games on PS+ but they don't want to. Instead, they're putting money into making the other guys weaker. How lame can you get? Use your money to innovate and make games. Your fanbase asks the same of the other guys.

Re: UK Regulator No Longer Concerned About Activision Buyout's Impact on Console Competition

YonkoBuggyTheClown

@WallyWest I did, actually. On the sister site, in November 2021, I said that MS should buy ABK after their fresh new scandal at that time.

And here we are.

I have all consoles, but I play most on Xbox. That is just my preference. You have yours and I respect that.

This will give MS more leeway to negotiate with 3rd parties to get their games on Xbox, which is something I have been wanting. Sony using their market dominance to bully the industry has been annoying to watch. This will happen less now, and the industry will be better for it.

If you can’t see that, that’s on you. And I really don’t have much else to add to that conversation.
