Played up to arriving in Seattle, running on Fidelity Pro Mode with VRR on a LG C2 and it's probably the most beautiful game I've ever seen on a console. According to the TV it seems to be hitting between 85-90FPS at 4K. I don't know how accurate the Frame tracker is on the TV but it looks so smooth, but with all the detail that has me stopping to jump into Photo Mode to just obsess over the set dressing.
Biggest complaint I have so far is the amount of options there are to choose between to ensure best output. I don't know if the options I'm running are the best and I think it'll be up to jumping into Reddit threads to figure out the correct configuration.
Not surprising but on console at least, it doesn't offer enough to keep it monthly. I sign up when there's a game I want to play and cancel immediately after, Dead Space Remake being the last time. And they offered a €1 p/m offer when that got added
Am I happy about having to pay more money, no! But do I understand why the price is going up, sure! It seems the cost of everything is going up so why wouldn't they increase it. Whilst I may not play games from the service every month, I have played inFamous, Stray, Split/Second, Key We, The Quarry, Ghostwire Tokyo, Syphon Filter and Super Stardust Portable this year. So I'm certainly getting value for money. And I've Sea of Stars downloaded ready to go once I have the time.
They're currently testing 4K streaming in beta so one could assume that'll be partly the cause for the rise in cost. But also surely they'll end up rolling it out to be able to stream direct from server on PC etc. So they'll likely "justify" the price increase at a later stage.
Having said all that I still think that services like this are going to negatively affect games in the long term. Xbox celebrating 3 Million players for Hi-fi Rush, but the completion rate is quite low. If only 1 in 10 people are seeing the end of your game why would you bother making a game that's longer than 3 or 4 hours long
@Amnesiac oh 100% agree. I was just giving the most basic breakdown based on the previous posters logic. 1.2M is nothing to a studio of that size unfortunately.
Hopefully they can rebuild. They seem to make decent quality games. Just difficult to get that success
@JAMes-BroWWWn let's say it's 30 Devs on the team, from a quick Google the average wage for game Dev in Montreal is 70,000CAD. So 2.1M per year. Not that I'd expect those figures to be what an indie studio are necessarily paying but just gives an idea that just paying staff alone requires higher sales than 60,000

Re: First-Person Puzzler Viewfinder Launches Next Month on PS5, Demo Available Today
Could this be a PS+ Extra inclusion? That would seem to fall on the day those games come out wouldn't it?
Re: Backbone One: PlayStation Edition Finally Gets Android Version, and It's Available Now
Definitely expect an upgrade to PS Streaming soon, between this and the rumoured dedicated handheld
