Re: UK Sales Charts: Days Gone Is the Only New IP Bigger Than Death Stranding in 2019

@themcnoisy But reviews by their very nature are subjective and while you may love a game and everything in it other people are allowed not to like it, right? I mean on the flip side we could say that Liam's super positive review is also only for clicks and not geniune. That it's only there to get the fanboy clicks, right? I'm sure that's not the case and Liam's review is absolutely heartfelt, so why is it that people who are being negative about aspects of the game are the ones not being true to how they feel about the game and only doing it for traffic?

We are getting sidetracked I think. I didn't mean to get into a philosophical debate about the rights and wrongs of reviewing. I just felt comparing UGG and DS with regards to how reviewers treated them was unfair and that the language being used about the game was dissmissive and derogatory.

I'm off to bed. Love and Respect.

Re: Talking Point: Is the PS4's Final Year of Relevance in Danger of Becoming Overhyped?

kiki3400

For next year, it is and always will be Final Fantasy VII Remake. I cannot wait to get my greasy little paws on it. It's worth all the hype.
Other than that I'll do what I do every year, see what else comes out. I don't buy a huge amount of games on day one but I will probably buy Watch Dogs : Legion (if it even comes out next year)and the new Assassin's Creed Vikings game.

I may have been more excited about Cyberpunk but I hate anything first person. For some reason I lose all spatial awareness in FP and can't do anything. I get lost in a square box. lol

@themcnoisy tbh I don't care either way about IGN. I don't go to the site, it's just a walkthorough generator.

If anything I think this topic shows that for the most part reviews mean nothing and they don't really have that big an impact on sales in the short term. So there is no need for anyone to get their panties in a twist about them and put down other good games, right?

Re: UK Sales Charts: Days Gone Is the Only New IP Bigger Than Death Stranding in 2019

kiki3400

@Neolit whether or not it was your intention (loved being gaslit too, thanks) , constantly referring to Untitled Goose Game as 'that goose game' or 'goose thing' is belittling it. I don't see you referring to Death Stranding with other than it's full name. Both games are different and new in their own ways and it serves no purpose to pit one against the other. We all want new innovative games, we won't get that if we constantly tear down games that are.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Days Gone Is the Only New IP Bigger Than Death Stranding in 2019

kiki3400

@Neolit Hhmm, I don't think you can make the comparison of Untitled Goose Game to Death Stranding. DS is a AAA behemoth compared to Untitled Goose Game which was the little game that could. UGG was super addicting and a joy and delight to play in completely different way to DS. No need to denegrate one really good game to rasie up another really good game. Just sayin'

Re: Soapbox: Sony's Made Four of the Five Best-Selling Home Consoles of All Time, And That's Insane

kiki3400

Since the PS1 have have only ever owned Sony consoles. Had an old wooden Atari2600 back in the day, then a sega master system but as soon as ps1 came out and I had FFVII spinning I was hooked. Bought my PS2 with my grant money and spent the whole of my 2nd year at uni playing FFX. Didn't buy a PS3 at the time of launch as I was a poor working class peon and for the first few years out of uni didn't really have time to game. Found my way back to gaming via the PC but didn't buy a PS4 until last year. But i love it. I love it very much. Might even love it more than my PS2 (which I still have and it still works.) picked up a used PS3 last year also so I could play a few PS3 games (FFXIII, Mass effect etc) but will probably buy a PS5 pretty quick. Maybe not day one but certainly within the first 6 months.

I should just call myself Sony Pony really.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Not Even Microtransactions Can Prompt Crash Team Racing to Take a Pitstop

kiki3400

The issue I feel is that these types of microtransactions are expressly made for 'casual' gamers. They don't affect gameplay really, but if you want to progress faster or get that skin/character, then they are there.

I don't mind those types of MT so much because I have enough willpower that I won't get sucked into buying stuff. It's entirely up to you, you can buy yhr curency or you can grind in the game. Grinding is half the fun baby!

The MT's I object to are the ones that you need to progress in the game. That is not fair or right, especially if you have already paid for the base game. However, I feel MT are really only an issue for multiplayer games cause those servers got to be paid for. If you have a game that's free to play and it's all about the multiplayer, that framework has to be paid for. Those games description need to be changed from Free to Play to subscription....cause they are never free to play.

Re: Talking Point: PlayStation Plus Is in Desperate Need of an Overhaul

kiki3400

I mean, I understand, they have to do deals with whatever publishers, Devlopers etc because Sony can't just decide to give any game away for free. However, whoever is dealing with getting games for PS Plus needs to up thier game?

My main issue is that it's never really a style of game that I like. I don't know why they can't have a lineup of 5 or 6 games and let you add 2 of those to your library. They wouldn't necessarrily need to change all 5 games every month either.

That way everyone has a chance of getting a game they might want to play.

I have ps plus. I use it mainly for the discounts. I don't play online and I have only played 3 of the games in the last 6 months, but that's not to say I don't want the choice of something new to play. To be fair. I think once my sub has run out I won't be re-upping unless there is a shift in the offer.

Re: Talking Point: What Free July 2019 PS Plus Games Do You Want?

kiki3400

I think watchdogs or watchdogs 2 is a decent possibilty. If not this month then in the near future. Create some more hype for Legion coming out. Personally I'd love to see Subnautica on there cause then maybe people would play it as it's such an awesome game. Shadow of the colossus maybe? Nioh? Or something in the Final fantasy universe?

Re: Reaction: Bloated Xbox E3 2019 Press Conference Fails to Capitalise on Sony No-Show

kiki3400

Keanu was the win and I bet that if Sony had been there that part of the presentation would have been done on the Sony stage so I don't even count that as a Microsoft win.

Elden Ring looked, dare I say it, dreary. Another souls game with a protagonist with a prostetic arm and 'hard' gameplay. I would have liked something a little more leftfield from them. Mix it up a little. They are in danger of becoming overly repetitive. But then I only mildy enjoyed Dark Souls etc. I don't think they are the second coming of games

Re: PS Plus June 2019 PS4 Games Announced

kiki3400

I don't understand why sony don't offer say 5 or 6 games and let you choose 2 to download. That way there would always be something for everyone and you would be less likely to miss out if you already own one of the games. Problem solved. Not a great month for me, not big into FPS and Platformers don't normally hold my attention for too long. Still the double discounts this month are pretty good.
