So I just finished it and I think I might be in the minority in thinking this game was just ...ok?? Sidequests were abysmal (except for the last 10 or so) combat got really boring really fast and the direction the story took and the ending?? Aghhh not a fan. I am glad I played it and it wasn't bad, but it is nowhere near as amazing as some reviewers were making it out to be. I can't think of an experience more dserving of the word 'mid' than this.

I have pre-ordered this with reservations. Not entirely sold on the flashy action fighting with hundreds of numbers flying all over the place combat. And SE have fooked up a lot with regards to this franchise so I refuse to get swept away by the hype. I mean, loved FF15 more than it deserved but it was more the gang I loved not the game itself.

I'm laughing so hard right now, if I stop I might cry. Poor is the only word that comes to mind.

The over exsposure is real tho. I used to really enjoy Marvel now I can't be arsed with it. Really don't want video games to go the same way as movies tbh. My fav games of the last few years have been new IP's. More new IP's please.

This move isn't targeting the hobbiyist/enthusiast market for games it's for the casual that don't play games on anything else. I don't even count them as 'games' as such. 'shrug'

I don't normally get all het up about stuff like this, you either buy it or you don't. talk with your wallet. But I want this so much. I loved GOT. Bought it Day one. So once again, Day one supporters, the actual peopel who made the game a 'success' in the first place getting hosed. All in if I want to get Director's Cut on PS5 I'll end up paying £90 for the whole shebang. I could go on and on but doubtless every previous comment is saying the same thing. I'm not buying this. I have a PS5 and I have yet to buy a PS5 game for it. I'm not paying £70 for a game. I'll pickup launch titles physical cheaper in a bit.

I suppose they had to recoup the cost of sending out free red and black controllers to every streamer in the world somehow. Just disappointed this was they way.

@Balosi Agree 100%. I liked the new characters and some of the gameplay tweaks but yeah maybe because I have played P5og 4 times and I know the game like the back of my hand. I found Royal way easy. Enjoyed getting out at night though! lolol

@patronmacabre On a side note: I am glad Persona 5 Royal has outsold the original Persona 5. The original version should be wiped from stores so no one makes that mistake. Royal is so much better than the original in every way.

I know a lot of people felt that way but I thought the changes made the game way to easy. Even on merciless. I loved the first game and think it had it's place. Without it you wouldn't have royal. Also, preferred the original ending.

@Gooseuk It does have haptic feedback, there is a blog post about it. I have this on Switch, LOVE it. Will be buying this on PS5 just so I can have the plat in my collection!!

I am so hyped for this! I loved Suikoden. I backed this game and I am happy to wait cause it's going to be so good!

@Shepherd_Tallon Odyssey is totally worth that price IMO. Play as cassandra, you'll not regret it.

@Justin113 I don't disagree with you at all but as some other people have mentioned I am sure there are PS5 exclusives in the works. So what if God Of War 2 or Horizon Zero Dawn are not PS5 exclusives and not taking full advantage of the tech right now? Not every new game will. There will be games that follow that will. And you still get stellar single player games to play on both consoles in the meantime. I'm sorry but 'Sony lied to us,' is a complete over-reaction. And this 'all new games should only be on PS5' is just flat out selfish.

As I said previously I own a PS5 and I love it but I haven't played a single PS5 game on it yet. But I am ready for when there are 'next-gen' games that I will want to play and in the meantime, I'm taking advantage of the sweet loading times and graphics and haptic feedback for my PS4 games that I have gotten PS5 upgrades for and my PS4 games that are still PS4 games. Simples.

Sony is going to fully switch over to PS5 at some point and I'm ready for it. It's obviously not soon enough for a lot of you but then again, it feels like half this site is moaning about something or another most days. So different day, same nonsense.

Console wars are just the pits. I don't understand how we got here. PS5 owners fighting with PS4 owners over games. It's just madness. I just want to game. I own a PC, a Switch a PS4 and I sat for a full week never leaving my computer and twitter and finally managed to get a PS5.I'm probably gonna buy a series s when I have the cash.

I don't understand all the toxic gatekeeping that goes on in games. Honestly it's like kids unable to share. 'I can't play it so you can't.' I thought as adults people were supposed to get better, be more empathetic and kinder.

And I expect better from a site like Push Square for fanning this kind of behaviour for clicks. It's truly sad to see.

I just had a look on PS store and they want £90 for this on PS5??!!?? ANd that's the vanilla version, not digital deluxe on nuffink! I certainly will not be paying that price for it.

After getting MLB The Show 19 free with plus last year I have become a convert. Super addicting gameplay. I mainly play RTTS though. So satisfying when you hit that ball! Just got 20 in the sale and there are some refinements but again, just love playing that game.

The vibe I get from his tweet is he wants to make new IPs not sequels which tbh happens a lot in gaming.

@AJDarkstar I'm sorry if trying to have a rational conversation about this is upsetting you. They reviewed the PS4 version of this game on a PS5 which still resulted in a game breaking bug 65 Hours into the playthrough. If that's not broken, I don't know what is. I'm happy you are enjoying the game but fail to understand why you can't understand why other people might be upset. I suppose having no empathy in you might be useful but it must be an awful lonley existence. Still at least you Cyberpunk to keep you warm.

@AJDarkstar Just because you don't agree with a review doesn't make it a troll. R U Donald Trump, unable to see the merit in something because it doesn't fit your opinion. If you want just yes men then, please, go elsewhere. I have seen lots of different opinion of this game, some people love it, some people like it and some people are disappointed as they thought they were getting something new, something groundbreaking, when in reality it's just a bog standard rpg. And all of these things are OK. People are allowed to feel differently about things. Instead of throwing a hissy fit because it doesn't align with your views. Why do you need your views on this game validated elsewhere? Surely if you love it, that should be enough. I think this site has done a pretty good Job Of showing both sides of the coin. Sammy is loving his time with it. Robert not so much. Not every site is going to have a glowing review and some people seem to forget this is a PLAY Station site and the majority of us here still only have a PS4. PS5 owners are still in the minority so I think the site, rightly so, has a duty to report on the version that the majority of us will be playing this game on. And he didn't do that cause the performance was so bad! And that is fact. There is plenty of evidence.

Here is my conundrum. Never played a Dark Souls game. Never wanted to. However, for some reason started watching a LP online and I have to admit it looks FUN. Do I just say f-it and buy all 3 in the sale for less than 30 quid??? Or do I finish the LP and just enjoy that.......

@deathaxe Please, they had 8 million pre orders that if you estimate 50 a unit is 400,000,000. Half a billion. That alone would be enough to keep the banks at bay. Please, these were choices this company made to delibrately mislead and obscufate the state of this game on certain platforms. They duped the public, duped their employees then put the onus on them. Did any of the leadership do mandatory 6 day weeks?? Probably not.

You know, it's great to have balance and I have certainly loved a lot of games despite their flaws (FF15, suck it haters). I have been watching LP of the game and I am enjoying them. I will not however, buy another goddamn thing from CDPR until something in their leadership changes.

They PURPOSEFULLY misled the general public and media outlets. And I can't figure out WHY? Did they think no-one was gonna play the PS4 version?

The leadership of this business left the public high and dry, left their employees high and dry (cause no dev worth their salt would want this released), forced crunch on them to meet unrealistic deadlines and made promises they couldn't keep with regards to gameplay.

And they keep saying they 'are taking responsibilty' but WHO is taking that responsibilty? Who signed off on this game going gold? Who told Sony and MS that it would be ready, so they rubberstamped CERT? Who chose not to show the media console ports and to not allow any footage but BRoll to be shown? These were all active choices this company made. They didn't just happen or slipped under the radar.

I mean it's just a ever growing list of incompetence.

@JustPlainLoco Nope, I don't think P4 needs it. I have P3 on my PS3 (Still to play it yet!) lol but P4 has a charm all it's own as does P5. I think that;s what I enjoy about the series as a who;e. They are all the same but different.

@Mega-Gazz I was the same but having caved and bought Royal in the latest sale for 50% off I have to admit they have made a lot of changes to gameplay, cut scenes etc. It is a significantly different game in terms of mechanics and such.

Can'r say if I'm happy with all the changes yet as I have a LOT of love for the original P5 but so far I'm enjoying it.

@nessisonett only in the western hemisphere really. Japan and easterm Asian countries don't really stream Anime. It's a western thng really. Anime, although a massive industry, exsits to support manga. They still look at Bluray/DVD and Merch sales as proof of success of anime, not viewers on TV or online. It hardly matters to them.

@Snake_V5 Depends what you are watching. If you prefer watching Dubs, funimation is probably your best bet, although Crunchyroll has a much bigger back catalogue the majority of it is subs. I personally prefer Hi-Dive it runs much better than either of the other two. Funimation apps and website are a joke. Crunchy' s aren't much better. Hi-Dive at least looks lie it was made in this decade.

9th Nov. All non essential shops are closed and supermarkets are only allowed to sell food. Supposedly to be fairer to other businesses when they re-open. It will not effect the launch of PS5 cause they will be out of firebreak by then. at least , fingers crossed, they will.

Finally got round to platting AC Odyssey. Gonna play through the dlc now in prep for Valhalla in November. Also mopping up some FF8 trophies.

As always I will vote for Subnautica and maybe Spike Volleyball??? An absolutley trashy sports game by the looks of it but I want to play it as I am a massive Hiakyuu!! fan. LOL And I will never pay money for it, but I just want to manage my own team and name them all after charachters in the anime. I'm sad, I know.
