@sham8nix It's arguably the greatest demo ever made. I have such vivid and special memories of it. I was horrified to find out that the Tanker mission was to end shortly after and turn into a polarizing campaign too caught up it's hype (all whilst playing as a whiney, blonde woman wannabe) come full game release.
@rockman29 Ditto. The only time that was worth it was Zone Of The Enders with MGS2 as a demo.....and that's because the demo had hours of fun involved and ZOE turned out to be a great game as well.
The new trailer to Persona 5 was one of the most impressive things i have seen in gaming. Completely blew my expectations out of the water. Japanese devs are out in full force and are showing the rest of the world how it is done like it is the late 90's again!
This game will have so much more intelligence, style, depth and innovative game design than the next FF. This new trailer was the best i have seen since The Last Guardian's E3 debut.
I don't think i have been this excited for a game since Dragon Quest VIII. This could end up being my fave game ever, knocking off FFVII, if it carries on impressing as hard as it has been.
One of the greatest games ever made. An absolute masterpiece in game design. The level design, still to this day, holds up as some of the best ever made. This one game made Duke unstoppable, world famous and consistently hailed as....THE KING.
There is a resurgence in interest to this genre. The "real FPS" as we like to call it....i truly hope FPS games get back on the ball and get back to that 90's game design that is still unmatched to this day. There is a reason why Doom, Quake and Duke are STILL regarded as the FPS kings and are still played to death to this day. Modern FPS games, possibly since Halo, have been in free fall. Crippled by total dumb-down design.
Yakuza is just perfect. It is one of those rare games that manages to inspire every part of my being. An incredible franchise and one of Sony's best ever exclusives.
The greatest FPS hero of all time gets his biggest hit released on Vita!! BOOM, baby.
I literally cannot wait until they announce the next Duke Nukem game. With no troubled history to hinder the new game, it should be the return (of the king) to glory......considering the correct developers are doing it.
This has the potential to be my fave game of all time. Possibly even beating FFVII for me.
The fact that i already adore the franchise and that the new ideas behind the 5th game sound so intelligent and inspiring......it just has the makings of perfection.
I dunno, man....They hit absolute gold with The Walking Dead. Pure human emotion....and that is key to it. I don't think that can be replicated in GoT.
Game-wise, though, i think it easily could be their best....the choice and consequence system would really suit GoT....but i don't think i would be as engrossed in it as much as TWD.
One of the greatest, most innovative games of all time - Duke Nukem 3D (The ultimate version of it too!) was the only reason i was super excited for this weeks update....to bad it was a mistake on SCE's part!!!
NeoGAF literally explodes with excitement the most to this game when anything new happens....safe to say it has the most hype. Which is great because Hardcore games deserve it.
It is Sony's real big system seller and most important exclusive yet.
Shinji Mikami.....survival Horror.....his last game was Resi 4, one of the greatest of all time......there is no such thing as The Evil Within failing.
Honestly, this is a day one purchase. I have heard nothing but great things about this game. Also, we need FPS games to get back to what made them great in the first place. Modern FPS games have really destroyed the creativity of the genre…..”realism”, “gritty-ness” and complete linear, hand-holding experiences have destroyed the once great genre.
We need big, maze-like maps full of secrets and easter eggs back Huge weapon arsenal with no 2-weapon limit massive movement speed power-ups non-regen health Rocket Jumps! 15+ enemies on screen at once Enemies to be placed strategically around each level map with no script intros. Quake Arena style multiplayer – no perks, etc bull-ish! Huge colour palette. Creativity
Games that have attempted to bring this back recently are the new Rise Of The Triad, Wrack and Shadow Warrior…..FINALLY Shadow Warrior makes it to the PS4, but please, can we get the other two on PS4 too? We need to get the spark back into a dull (but potentially brilliant) genre.
The true test is to show game footage to a non-gamer and to see if they react with wow factor......This Uncharted 4 footage blown everyone away, gamer or not. It is the same feeling i got when seeing the first Uncharted for the first time....therefor indicating that the much debated power jump from last gen to this gen is indeed....as big as before.
Yes and they need to introduce formally that plan they had to set up a localisation team within their studios. We need many, many more Japanese games localised because, to me, they're still the greatest, most creative minds in the industry and are a big reason i stick with Sony.
Deadly Premonition is one of the greatest, most memorable games i have ever played....no joke.
Yeah, it is quirky and has a huge scope with a limited budget, but what Sweary achieves is incredible. I was completely transported to another world whilst playing that, something that doesn't happen too often anymore for me.
The sequel, when announced, is going to be an instant most wanted for me.
Don't be mislead....It has already been clarified that the difficulty will be on par with the Souls games....the only difference being that the design in Blood is not there to punish the player.....but the difficulty stands. It is more aggressive.
What this probably means is something like how you'd lose your souls if you die without retrieving them in the souls games....that is punishment and is something that won't be heavily implemented in Blood.
But this video still looks old school as hell. It is going to be incredibly hard.
One of the strongest showings i have seen from Sony.
The sneak and unique Silent Hill announcement was an insane showstopper and Wild looks to be the next big thing. Plus, for Sony to team up with Michel Ancel, one of the best creators in the business, for an exclusive as good looking as Wild......is nuts.
Rime looks utterly brilliant. Honestly, it's like if Team Ico teamed up with Level 5, two of my fave developers of all time. That trailer is the reason i game.
Tearaway Unfolded is HUGE! Tearaway on Vita is, to me, one of the best games in the last five years and for PS4 to get a completely revamped version is outstanding.
Until Dawn is ambitious and keeps the Heavy Rain thing going. Unfortunately, it does not appeal to me at all....but i can recognise it's potential.
Alienation looked outrageous! Super old-school blasting merged with PS4 physics. It's going to be super fun to play.
Hellblade, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Volume, The Tomorrow Children, Dayz....all games that shown variety and uniqueness. It was just game after game!
Then you had the updates on E3 announcements like Bloodborne, LBP3 or The Order. Bloodborne's new trailer is.......my god........The greatest exclusive since......GTA3? Ha.
THEN.....you had the system 2.0 announcement which is going to take PS4 to unbelievable heights.
Also, you can't play it right now. There is a footnote at the end that explains that P.T. is developed as a teaser to Silent Hill and doesn't represent the game.
New Silent Hill, Wild, Rime, System 2.0, Tearaway Unfolded, updates on LBP3 and Bloodborne....not show stoppers?
It was one of the best conferences i have seen Sony do.
They focussed more on games from the "different" side, the more art-house side of things and that is exactly what i am looking for....hence why so much appealed to me here. It was game after game after game.
Mainstream games like that at E3 tend to do nothing for me as it is the same game repeated with new spray paint with each announcement.
Clearly.....The return of the TRUE FPS form is nigh with all these similar titles getting announced lately.
This looks absolutely brilliant. FPS games are some of my faves, but since COD became big, they have all been a monumental waste of time (mostly). Losing all their charm, hardcore nature, creativity, longevity, etc in the process. I hope the trend of returning them to the roots continues.
The reactions have been unanimously positive. There were a few worrying comments in a preview elsewhere where they stated the demos were in fairly linear environments....but, i just can't seem to accept that they would make everything else old-school and not the map design....makes no sense, so i still think they will succeed in making the maps like the old games.
The only other worry may be that it could come off as a Duke Nukem rather than a Doom, but we'll see.
@Gemuarto
Um, no. It was one of the most talked about reveals of E3 and is arguably one of the top 5 most popular games on the planet STILL to this day. Overall, Doom is still many peoples pick as the greatest and most influential western game ever made. It has one of the biggest fanbases of all all games. It is still being modded and played with on a huge scale (see Brutal Doom).
@Scollurio Completely diasagree....Doom could revitalise the FPS genre by going back to it's roots. See my comment above. The last thing it should be is Dead Space.
It needs level structure (level 1, 2, 3, etc...), huge open maps, secrets, super fast movement and gameplay, lots of bright, beautiful colours, enemies strategically placed on the map, no weapon limit, no health regen, big guns with huge meaty feel, no hand holding, tonnes of easter eggs, hidden levels, no cinematic structure, no survival horror, no Doom 3, power-ups, cheat codes, hard difficulty, lots of gore, up to a hundred enemies on screen at once, unrealistic level structure and so forth.
This will revitalize the FPS genre. We don't need anymore movie-wannabe FPS games. Go back to the root and innovate again that way.
Huge Broken Sword fan and the first episode was a true return to form. I adore the more conversation heavy parts because that is what Broken Sword does fantastically with it's witty, detailed dialogue. It's what the fans want. It's relaxing to sit down with George and Nico to hear what they have to say about the latest mystery over a damn good cup of coffee. It really felt like catching up with old friends and that is exactly the director's intention when doing those scenes.
