Re: StarBlood Arena Dev Trying to Find Server Solution After Sony Shut Down

Is Sony deliberately trying to make itself look bad as this gen comes to a close? When you look at how Sony and Microsoft were perceived back in 2013, it's like a total reversal of roles now.

I feel bad for the StarBlood Arena devs. I'm sure they put a lot of work into the game, and at the flick of a switch Sony will render it completely unplayable soon. That's not right.

If Sony has even the slightest bit of sense, they won't let Sid Shuman anywhere near this thing. It's a fact that once he appears in front of a camera, the show itself declines in quality by a metric of 10,000 fathoms.

In fact, just keep the forced smiles and empty PR talk to an absolute minimum. Based on PSX's Couchgate and the disaster in formatting that was last year's E3, nobody wants to see PlayStation's social team shoot the s**t with each other in the most strained way possible.

Re: Quantic Dream's Detroit: Become Human Heading to PC

This is weird behaviour from Sony. You'd think with the amount of success they're having through their own titles that they'd adhere to the Nintendo approach of locking down exclusives to their platform, but instead they're going more and more in the direction of Microsoft. And I had just assumed Microsoft put all their games on PC because they weren't doing particularly well commercially, so why is Sony following suit?

Or maybe Epic just threw a massive cauldron of money Shawn Layden's way.

Yeah nu-metal is awful, but let's face it, britpop wasn't much better. Most britpop bands were essentially lowest common denominator pup-rock. And yes, that includes Oasis.

Plus britpop killed off the era of shoegaze. Now THAT'S a f**king fantastic genre of music. (Slowdive have reformed by the way, and released a belter of an album in 2017).

Glad to see that Detroit love. Definitely agree with your blurb - it's a melodramatic game to a fault at times, but the sheer breadth of its branching narrative and how much a single playthrough can change from another is impressive as hell.
