Re: Report Finds Lack of Star Wars Outlaws Sales Disturbing

If you can’t make something good enough to acquire a new generation of fans then it’s time to switch your strategy to retention of fans, Disney. Are you a commercial company or a social justice platform? If you want to be the latter then maybe it’s time to start asking for donations instead of profits. Sorry, I’m clearly disgruntled.

Re: Insider Report Adds Context to Assassin's Creed Shadows' Big Delay

This is what I think. Developing a game is challenging enough when you have a team pulling in the same direction and an eager audience waiting to play. In today’s environment, there’s the added complexity of navigating the DEI divide, with two polarising ideals vying for influence in entertainment. Regardless of where one stands on this issue, the divide exists and now forms the underlying narrative of many gaming and television titles. While it’s not the only factor – buggy games and rushed releases have also become more common – it is a new and additional dynamic that developers and consumers are still adapting to.

Re: PS5 Firmware Update Annoys with Unwanted Deluge of Ads, News Feed

Step 1: Build an audience.
Step 2: Build their trust
Step 3: Pick them up by the ankles and shake every penny out of them.

At least Sony offer us 3rd and 1st party games. Google and Meta, despite their claims as huge innovators, have only made “real” money out of slapping advertising across everyone else’s content. That’s my two cents.

Re: Judge for Yourself with Official PS5 Black Myth: Wukong Gameplay

I am excited to play this game as a slightly more relaxing adventure (read: masochist) through a fantasy world having just come out of a punishing Erdtree campaign. I will wait to see how the PS5 version runs in reviews before buying. Although the thought of invisible walls is a slight deterrent. I do love exploring freely.

Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?

BushSwan

On a personal note, the poll didn’t allow me to say, “I’m a big From Soft Soulslike fan, but not so keen on the plethora of copy cats.” However broadly speaking, perhaps the genre’s emergence is no different to platformers, metroidvanias, and tower defense. Here to stay as a part of gaming cannon.

Re: FromSoftware Boss Puts Elden Ring Difficulty Discourse to Bed, Once and For All

I’m utterly useless at From games. Have finished DS1, 2, 3, Bloodborne and Elden Ring albeit by having to plough many, many hours in while relying heavily on summoning help. All the DLCs have beaten me. Erdtree is owning me at the moment. These games can frustrate me at times but the beauty of the worlds and the mystery of the locations keep bringing me back for more beautiful pain. A stunning series of games.
