The only way Sony can recover from this frankly bizarre situation is to acquire the Skies of Arcadia IP and get Bluepoint to work their magic on a remake.
@Member_the_game Ah, fair point about looking to the future. I hadn't considered that angle.
I would say that when considering the PS6, this will be the start of a new generation and Sony will likely want to ensure a large install base as soon as possible, so as their "core" console, they will likely price it competitively (as they did with the PS4 and PS5).
The PS5 Pro is more likely considered a niche product with a small target audience, hence the cost. My only real disappointment with the Pro is the lack of a disc drive as standard. That's quite a big omission in my mind.
@Member_the_game Your hobby is gaming, so to say that the PS5 Pro has priced you out of your favourite hobby is inaccurate. Does the existence of Ferrari mean that the average joe is priced out of motoring? Of course not, as there are still plenty of cost effective means available.
The argument over cost is understandable, but often misguided. The PS5 Pro is an option, nothing more. Existing PS5 consoles will continue to function and existing PS5 games will continue to play. If you're on PS5 already, nothing will change. If you want some extra bells and whistles, and you consider the cost acceptable, then the PS5 Pro is for you. If you don't, then you were never the target market in the first place.
The cycle is pretty obvious - we hear very little from Sony and we start to worry they're falling behind or becoming complacent, especially when every day seems to bring with it a new episode of "Phil Spencer says...". Then they do communicate, and we see that they know exactly what they're doing and our faith is restored.
Would I like them to engage more? Yes, but only if they're saying something of substance.
With the push to make Gamepass available on everything, surely you just buy a month or two of Gamepass when the exclusives warrant it, play them on your laptop, or the inevitable TV stick, and then just let your membership end until the next worthwhile game comes out?
A couple of games played over a couple of months for the fraction of the cost of buying those games outright.
If this were happening a generation or two ago, when you would HAVE to buy an Xbox console to play Xbox exclusives, I could imagine people being annoyed, but MS appear to be making it very easy to play their games for next to nothing.
I love the fact that not only do you get back into the game so quickly, there doesn't appear to be any of the stutter and texture loading that you'd normally expect.
Just buy a docking station for your controller and you'll be good to go.
If you're worried that 8-10 hours isn't enough for your gaming needs, then I suggest you have more pressing concerns than the battery life of your controller.
@Bobskie77 Oh dear. You claimed that EVERY PS4 has crashed, with no evidence other than your own experience and some commenters on Reddit. We offered our experience that we have suffered no such crashes, rendering your claim factually inaccurate, and now you're throwing a strop and insulting people.
Wind your neck in before you make a bigger fool of yourself.
@Bobskie77 Utter nonsense in reference of all PS4's crashing. You have no evidence of this and only make this claim to try and add weight to your bias. For the record, I have both a launch PS4 and a day one PS4 Pro. Neither have crashed as you described.
As for your "20 years of gaming", is that another attempt to strengthen your argument? It adds nothing to the validity of your claim. I've been gaming for approximately 40 years. Does that make me right and you wrong?

Re: Analyst Firm Predicts Some Pretty Unimpressive Sales Numbers for Xbox Ports on PS5
Offer me a physical copy of your product with the game on the disc and I'll probably buy it (and likely day one at full price).
Try and force me into an all digital environment and it'll be a solid no each and every time.

Re: PS5 Hardware Trailer Is Completely X-Rated
@Loykymar Ha! Thank you. There is one on ebay for £999. That's quite the optimistic scalper!
Re: PS5 Hardware Trailer Is Completely X-Rated
I got my PS5 without any issues whatsover. Can I find a Dualsense Charging Station, though? Can I ****!

Very promising.
Re: Talking Point: Did You Love or Loathe Gamescom Opening Night Live?
A thoroughly boring two hours. Little Nightmares 2, 12 Minutes and Ratchet and Clank were the only things that grabbed my attention.

Re: Talking Point: Did the PS5 Games Reveal Event Meet Your Expectations?
Absolute killer of a show, I was hooked throughout. The console design will be a love it or hate it affair, personally I love it.

Re: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy Takes PS4 to Court in 2019
This is excellent news. I've always wanted to give these games a go but never owned the relevant hardware to play them.
